Iceland national Hermitage law does not prohibit the use of Metal detectors. It prohibits what you can find and regulates what you get for it. You can even bring your detectors to iceland. I have done it.
Hey shane. Just thought I'd mention by starting to watch your videos it's peaked my interest in precious metals. Feel a bit old to be starting just now. Been binge watching your channel lately. I'm from Eastern Massachusetts, so trying to do any of this is a bit impossible for me. But much appreciated. Keep doing you. You seem like a really honest dude. Really enjoy yur channel bud
Great video, especially showing the reality of Iceland which many videos never cover - the wind. Having been stationed there in the Navy the wind is relentless.
17:06 "Bræðraborgarstígur " in english means Brothers City Path From Wikipedia Bræðraborgarstígur is a street in the western part of Reykjavík . It lies between Hringbraut in the south and Vesturgatu in the north. It is mainly residential, some of the buildings are among the oldest in the city. The street takes its name from the house Bræðraborg (now Bræðraborgarstígur 14), which was built by the brothers Bjarna and Sigurður Sigurðsson from Hæðarenda in Grímsnes around 1880. [1] The street name first appears in sources in 1885. In recent years, various book publishing houses have chosen to be located on Bræðraborgarstíg. The book publishing house Iðunn was at Bræðraborgarstíg 16 from around 1975-2000, Bjartur-Veröld is now at Bræðraborgarstíg 9 and Forlagð ( JPV edition, Mál og menning , Vaka-Helgafell and Iðunn) at Bræðraborgarstíg 7.
As an aside, the game EVE Online was developed in Iceland. And a friend of mine moved from NZ to Iceland to go and work for the company that was developing EVE.
I went to Iceland last year in April/May and I coudn't find a coin shop like in 8:20 for the life of me lol. I did get lucky and found the 1100th commemorative silver set somewhere though, so it was well worth it!
I'm sorry for some what comments back to back. I follow both of your channels. And I havnt seen anything on the other since may !! I should post on your other but you know!! I'm looking to buy my stepson an electric guitar and he's interested in a hollow body. He is up and coming here in Pennsylvania!! My question is can you build a hollow body electric. His band has been nominated for many awards including the last one. That was held in Harrisburg.
@@Klesh if ya do I know some prime metal detecting and gold panning spots. I saw someone walking through my city that was your doppelganger so had to ask 😂
Metal detecting is heavily restricted in Iceland primarily to preserve its archaeological sites and cultural heritage. The country has strict laws to protect its historical artifacts and landscapes from being disturbed or damaged. I can understand why, the whole place is a treasure
@@Klesh coming from an army brat who has been all over the world!! I still live vicariously through you and your adventures!! And thank you for everything!!

Pretty cool seeing the Trump coins. Even Iceland seems to understand the significance of American politics and the role it plays worldwide.
Why cant u metal detect?

Sucky they dont allow metal detecting, weird.
I know
The ground there is full of toxic gasses, might have something to do with that idk?
Do you ever just randomly buy things during your travels to use them as random giveaways on your travels?
I always enjoy giving things away 👍
