Got a ps5, getting a series s in the next few days as part of a trade in deal with my ps4. Also have an OK pc that I play fps and strategy games on(1060) so I should be set for a while.
As a PS5 owner myself, I’d encourage primary PS4 owners to stick with the PS4 for the time being. PS5 is still in early software development. PS5 also has limited to no customization, limited library, & a VERY limited amount of exclusive games. The speeds, quality & experience are in fact amazing! However I do think you won’t gain much upgrading at this point. I’d wait a year or so for the PS4 owners.

I'm still not convinced by the ps5. Loading times and especially console noises don't bother me at all...it kinda feels natural to gaming for me and I never thought about it being an issue. The ps4 is such a great machine and I still got to finish so many games. No need for a ps5 at all at the moment
Yeah I also am not convinced with the ps5, mainly because I don’t think Sony exclusives interest me anymore, I still have so many exclusives that I have never finished. Only finished the uncharted series, last of us 1, until dawn and spider-man miles morales. I think I’m also not convinced on a ps5 is that pretty much all of my friends are on pc and Xbox therefore I mostly play there. A ps5 would only be an exclusives machine in which seems to have compelling sequels, I’ll just have to complete the dozen of prequels first.

I'm torn between getting a PS4 (Slim model £250) or getting a PS5 (Digital £350) I have been thinking the same thing but it's only a £100 more to upgrade the PS5 but I agree with the lack of true exclusives diminishes any reason to buy a PS5 especially now. I went with Xbox last generation and want a taste of Sony but I don't know if it's going to be through the PS4 (most of my friends are saying to upgrade) or PS5. I've recently sold my Xbox one S in preparation for a Series S it cost £250 also so I'm still conflicted with what to get. For me buying a new console depends on several factors to justify/warrant and pitch to my family in order to pursuade them to buy the new hardware. Factors include price for said system/accessories, games personal taste/preferred genres, friends on the system/multiplayer games they play etc. The games that sold me on the PS4 where Spider-Man, God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn These franchises I were new to except Spiderman and the narrative focus was a compelling reason to get a PS4. It isn't too much of a shock to me that the new GoW and Horizon Forbidden West are going to be available on PS4 but the fact that features will be cut out is very annoying the games will play better and actually live up to their initial vision if they where on the PS5. But the company has to make money and of course they'd release it on a system where the most of the playerbase is. At the moment for me there's no real reason to buy a PS5 I want one but there is no real need. I want one because I went with Xbox last generation but the offerings are slim for both. However if the PS5 offered the GoW and Horizon in the same way they did for Spider-Man giving you both the new game the sequel as well as the original game remastered with DLC then for me and people in my position there is an incentive to buy the £70 or whatever ££ addition rather than getting the PS4 version and the free upgrade and therefore buying a PS5.

I think they will. PS4 folders also came at a later date. When I got my PS5 it felt like Sony was starting fresh with their UI again, slowly adding things over time. Theory already proven correct once with their last major PS5 update, let's see if it continues

Very hard to get, but very possible to get. You've gotta stay in the know about when they're gonna be in stock and you've gotta be able to spam an add to cart button before they go out of stock. I don't know that they'll be easy to get your hands on in the next year or two. There are so many scalpers making a profit because they know they can get away with it. DON'T BUY FROM SCALPERS. let them learn the hard way not to take advantage of a crappy situation.
Lowkey I think my favorite part of having a PS5 is just having the speed of the UI. Super quick to jump into games, and the reduced loading screens are a must and everytime I go back to ps4 its just a bother.
I was lucky and managed to get a disc version of the ps5 launch day. I went with the disc version to even though I usually buy digital, but I've gotten games like Deathloop, Riders Republic, for 15$ but only on disc. Plus it has the best blu Ray player I've ever used. You should've pointed out that you really need to upgrade your TV first. You need HDMI 2.1 for any game to play at 120fps. I also still have my OG ps4, which I never use anymore, I just plugged a 4tb external into my ps5. I am going to sell my ps4, I have zero use for it and it has a custom 2tb hdd that I put in. I'm waiting for the PS5 Mini. The library has to grow much larger, the unit has to get much smaller and much better looking. The controller issue has to get thoroughly sorted out and the console has to be readily available. I also have to have a proper 2.1 4K TV. All these things will take another three years, till then the Xbox Series S with Game Pass is the way to go, I know crazy right?
My TV is 4K 60 so I don’t mind the 60fps game. People have to realize that the only way to play games in 120 FPS is to have a high end gaming monitor, witch most people don’t have.
Well for me it’s just the PS4 is my favorite console and the PS5 got so overhyped that damn near no one could grab any, not to mention the price. The PS5 is also mostly just your PS4 games enhanced like a mf, I can wait till a better looking model comes out or more games come out
I have a ps4 pro im happy with. Of course I want a ps5 but willing to wait till next yr to get one for retail hopefully walk in not online. It will be a year or two before we really start seeing the potential in games on the ps5. Same thing happened with the ps4 when it first came out with games.
TBH right now, if you have ps4 pro, wait for ps5 pro or something. Change ps4 pro's hdd to a samsung evo ssd and you are good to go. Look at that, your ps4 pro suddenly become a ps5. WoW!!!! At least wait until they push the 8K support. For me dualshock 4 controller is better. It is very light compared to dual sense controller and i dig it. . The mods i done for my ps4 pro: Changed HDD to SSD. (Samsung Evo 1TB SSD) Changed thermal paste. (11kw) Changed all the thermal pads with a good quality pad. Cleaned everyhing inside. . (This is coming from a playstation and pc fan. Like i owned ps1,ps2,ps3 fat, and still have ps4,ps4 cod:bo3 edition,ps4 pro,ps5. Trust me. There is nothing different right now between ps5 and ps4 pro. For me ps5 is basicially ps4.5) Fun Fact: For the first time i got an xbox. (Xbox Series X) and really love it. At least in my country, Microsoft Store is cheaper than Playstation Store. And me a rainbow six siege fan with a lot of cosmetic, could really used that discount... F.

If you go back and look at what the ps2 had on launch, you'll realize the ps5 content drought isn't too bad. However, what's more concerning is that usually we would of gotten a lot of big announcements at e3 from Sony and we didn't get that. So I expect the drought to last at least two more years, so you might as well wait before picking one up.
I bought a ps4 pro with a busted PSU for a measly 30 euro. Waiting for a new PSU and will be replacing it no sweat, obv needs controllers too since they weren't included. Ill probably purchase a ps5 next spring depending on their availability and how many new PS exclusives have come out.
I have a Ps4 Slim, but... Its DVD kind of stopped working, so... I was thinking of going for a Ps5 (not the Digital Version). I got both ps5 and series x and im not here to continue the console war, both consoles are amazing, both are super quiet, both are incredibly fast and smooth, while there are some advantages that both consoles have over the other like the gamepass and the ability to improve the quality of a game without an update on the series x and the amazing controller on the ps5 all I gotta really say is that its up to personal preference whether you like the ps5 better or even the series x or whether your friends are on one console or another, both are beautiful consoles, there's no point to the console war
I only love my PS4 pro because when loading it prescribes me time to go and launch a new load of laundry or serving myself a drink or food before I get back to my gaming chair just like the 10 minute break commercials way back when
I'm definitely gonna buy it. Not only will I be able to play all my ps4 games at higher fps and better resolution, I will finally be able to play online games with my sister as she will receive my old ps4.
Man why a video about it anyway? It has been 6 months and Scalpels STILL hold Ps5 with hostige prices sir. Polish guy here so the scalps are selling Ps5's just a lil bit cheaper on 'Allegro', polish ebay. Still Digital version is like about +150$ more then IF it would be sitting on regular store shelves. Scalps selling disc versions +250$ higher then 'in the store shelves'. I live with Playstation since I had Ps1 on launch and then every next generation - 2, 3 and 4 but I aint giving those a-holes scalps a single penny from my wallet and trust me I spent alot of money on Collector edition games in the past I was reckless with my choices guess I got older and wiser maybe (?) I am kinda glad the Ps5 games ain't picking speed up yet. And man the discounts on Ps4 games from month to month are honey! Well I wouldn’t say that. I know pc gaming is a better investment but i love my xbox. Getting the xsx really upgraded my gaming experience. I know that for xbox there will be none to VERY little xsx exclusives. (Note xbox series x) but i still got it. Im glad my friends without xsx can play the games i can.

I’m not talking about it from a PC - Master race prospective, I do recognize pc is the superior platform for gaming tho. I’m on og PS4 and I’m happy with it. I criticize the next generation of consoles being announced and released during a year where 60% of the entire work force of the *planet* saw their income negatively affected by Corona. Either salary cuts due to losing hours or outright fired. This comes from the perspective of an ignorant consumer so, feel free to disregard. I genuinely do not understand how both Sony and Microsoft didn’t realized most potencial buyers wouldn’t be able to afford these consoles due to the pandemic. Added the fact that both companies manufacture and sell the consoles at a lost. Meaning they need the consumers to, not only to purchase a new console, but also to invest in games, accessories, subscriptions, etc. Considering that both companies were *well aware* of the processing chips shortages, and they knew they would *not* be able to manufacture enough consoles to fully stock the market and yet they decided to put their products on the market. A small market which then was completely overtaken by Scalpers, who then started pushing the prices from 400-500 to 800-1200 up to 3.000 USD (such as in my country). This creates an impossibility for most consumers to get a console. Due the aforementioned processing chips shortage, they are unable to manufacture consoles at large numbers, leaving only handful consoles been made, which are then put on the market; only for them fall directly into the hands of scalpers, essentially creating a endless cycle. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason Sony is now walking back the “we believe in generations” statement is because they have realized what is happening but are unwilling to simply say: “Apologies gamers. We fucked up because we are greedy. But since we simply just can’t cancel the PS5, we are simply going to ‘postpone’’ our focus on it and keep the PS4 as our main source of income for the next couple of years. Once our production line is back to normal, probably in 2023, then we will start focusing only on PS5.
That Solid State Drive Swap really makes the difference in the PS4 Pro. End of the day, they’re x86-64 based consoles, a big whoopty-do in the pc gaming world. Mobile is the future.

7:37 Try playing most of Ubisoft games like Assassins Creed or Far Cry where they have the sprint/run mapped to L3 and there's no way to change it, you'll eventually have that drift issue.

Neither. I had the ps4 slim but sold it within like 8 months, mainly because I found it to be boring. I'm waiting on the slim redesign of the ps5 in a couple of years.
If you replace your HHD with an SSD in your PS4 Pro, you’ll be just fine! This guy is acting like you can just go to GameStop or Best Buy and pick up a PS5. He does in fact make cogent points about the features from the PS4 that’s missing from the PS5, but ignored the fact that backwards compatibility is a joke due to the lack of storage in a PS5. So if you weren’t one of those impatient people who sold their PS4 Pro thinking this economy would allow you to get a PS5… good luck finding a new PS4 or PS4 Pro. Being able to replace and increase your storage is a plus from both the PS3 and PS4, but a major shortcoming and somewhat a dealbreaker in a PS5. So I’ll wait until 2023 when they refresh the console look and can create a chip and processor to accommodate the shortage that’s preventing PS5s and XBoxs from being released in mass quantities.
I think that his is highly subjectional question. If we're talking (is it worth buying a ps5 if you have ps4). For example - I have a ps4 and played all ps4 exclusives there. And when I thought what to buy ps5 didn't really propose anything new. While yes, you can re-play all your games in 60fps which is nice, but I already played them. So I took an xbox series x which gave me like ton of new experience as I didn't ever owned xbox before, especially considering killer-feature which is a game pass. So as you can see this all can be subjectional, yes, ps5 is cool and dual sense is amazing, but what new experience it can offer for me? Spider man, demon souls, ratchet 2 and returnal. And nothing more actually even announced apart from horizon But if you didn't have the chance to play all the latest ps4 exclusives like ghost of tsushima or last of us 2 - then surely it's a good choice to upgrade (if possible considering all the shortages)
i bought a used ps4pro from my bfother as he upgraded to a ps5. the price for those hefre is stll insane and most of the games afre still compatible between both console so im not thinking that i got a bad deal for now
The PS5 UI is really lacking. It’s a PITA to find anything in your library. The sorting defaults to (pretty useless) „date“, and if you set it to „name“, it reverts as soon as you leave the library. The names of the games are only shown for the one you have selected, so you have to recognize them by the cover art. Folders don‘t exist, as you said. Why can‘t I just pin the games I want to the main screen? Manually looking for updates via the options button only works for those on the main screen, not the rest in the library (which doesn‘t make sense, as the main screen always shows the most recent ones, which are constantly being updated automatically, unlike the others that you haven‘t played for some time). It’s pretty disappointing. As is the selection of PS5 games available, to be honest.
The one big issue with the ps4 is that it has so many flippin' issues. After every update there is some new glitch or bug or safe mode loop or something which makes me regret even getting this console
I got a ps4 slim but I upgraded the hard drive cause it was a 500GB hdd now I have a 2TB hdd in it for that BIG GAMES and I picked up a extra front USB hub that go with the slim. Its hard to find a ps5 but can you make a video of things you don't like of the ps5 that people can look out for if they want to get one for them self's? and keep up with the good videos

I've been trying to grab PS5 since drop and no luck hopefully I'll be able to after the next big restock. It looks nice and you can use the dualshock 4 on all ps4 games if you're worried about drift
I've had a PS4 since launch, I'm happy to have a hardware update and enjoy 60FPS on even PS4 games, and I'm looking forward to upgrades to my library of PS4 games as I wait for the new titles on PS5. Most of my favourite PC games are ones from 10+ years ago that I still play with buddies.

I have a 4TB SSD in my PS4 Pro, and it makes a HUGE difference! It's much faster and responsive compared to the stock HDD that came with it.

Very hard to get, but very possible to get. You've gotta stay in the know about when they're gonna be in stock and you've gotta be able to spam an add to cart button before they go out of stock. I don't know that they'll be easy to get your hands on in the next year or two. There are so many scalpers making a profit because they know they can get away with it. DON'T BUY FROM SCALPERS. let them learn the hard way not to take advantage of a crappy situation.

Lowkey I think my favorite part of having a PS5 is just having the speed of the UI. Super quick to jump into games, and the reduced loading screens are a must and everytime I go back to ps4 its just a bother.

I’ve got a PS4 PRO, and I haven’t had ANY noise issues, although that could be because I have an A/C in my room...
I was lucky and managed to get a disc version of the ps5 launch day. I went with the disc version to even though I usually buy digital, but I've gotten games like Deathloop, Riders Republic, for 15$ but only on disc. Plus it has the best blu Ray player I've ever used. You should've pointed out that you really need to upgrade your TV first. You need HDMI 2.1 for any game to play at 120fps. I also still have my OG ps4, which I never use anymore, I just plugged a 4tb external into my ps5. I am going to sell my ps4, I have zero use for it and it has a custom 2tb hdd that I put in. I'm waiting for the PS5 Mini. The library has to grow much larger, the unit has to get much smaller and much better looking. The controller issue has to get thoroughly sorted out and the console has to be readily available. I also have to have a proper 2.1 4K TV. All these things will take another three years, till then the Xbox Series S with Game Pass is the way to go, I know crazy right?
My TV is 4K 60 so I don’t mind the 60fps game. People have to realize that the only way to play games in 120 FPS is to have a high end gaming monitor, witch most people don’t have.

I have a ps4 pro im happy with. Of course I want a ps5 but willing to wait till next yr to get one for retail hopefully walk in not online. It will be a year or two before we really start seeing the potential in games on the ps5. Same thing happened with the ps4 when it first came out with games.

TBH right now, if you have ps4 pro, wait for ps5 pro or something. Change ps4 pro's hdd to a samsung evo ssd and you are good to go. Look at that, your ps4 pro suddenly become a ps5. WoW!!!! At least wait until they push the 8K support. For me dualshock 4 controller is better. It is very light compared to dual sense controller and i dig it.

The mods i done for my ps4 pro:
Changed HDD to SSD. (Samsung Evo 1TB SSD)
Changed thermal paste. (11kw)
Changed all the thermal pads with a good quality pad.
Cleaned everyhing inside.

(This is coming from a playstation and pc fan. Like i owned ps1,ps2,ps3 fat, and still have ps4,ps4 cod:bo3 edition,ps4 pro,ps5. Trust me. There is nothing different right now between ps5 and ps4 pro. For me ps5 is basicially ps4.5)
Fun Fact: For the first time i got an xbox. (Xbox Series X) and really love it. At least in my country, Microsoft Store is cheaper than Playstation Store. And me a rainbow six siege fan with a lot of cosmetic, could really used that discount... F.

If you go back and look at what the ps2 had on launch, you'll realize the ps5 content drought isn't too bad. However, what's more concerning is that usually we would of gotten a lot of big announcements at e3 from Sony and we didn't get that. So I expect the drought to last at least two more years, so you might as well wait before picking one up.
I bought a ps4 pro with a busted PSU for a measly 30 euro.
Waiting for a new PSU and will be replacing it no sweat, obv needs controllers too since they weren't included.
Ill probably purchase a ps5 next spring depending on their availability and how many new PS exclusives have come out.

I got both ps5 and series x and im not here to continue the console war, both consoles are amazing, both are super quiet, both are incredibly fast and smooth, while there are some advantages that both consoles have over the other like the gamepass and the ability to improve the quality of a game without an update on the series x and the amazing controller on the ps5 all I gotta really say is that its up to personal preference whether you like the ps5 better or even the series x or whether your friends are on one console or another, both are beautiful consoles, there's no point to the console war

I only love my PS4 pro because when loading it prescribes me time to go and launch a new load of laundry or serving myself a drink or food before I get back to my gaming chair just like the 10 minute break commercials way back when

Still Digital version is like about +150$ more then IF it would be sitting on regular store shelves.
Scalps selling disc versions +250$ higher then 'in the store shelves'.
I live with Playstation since I had Ps1 on launch and then every next generation - 2, 3 and 4 but I aint giving those a-holes scalps a single penny from my wallet and trust me I spent alot of money on Collector edition games in the past I was reckless with my choices guess I got older and wiser maybe (?) I am kinda glad the Ps5 games ain't picking speed up yet. And man the discounts on Ps4 games from month to month are honey! Would I'd like to play a game that I own on Ps4 upgraded for free to Ps5 like for example - Borderlands 3 to cut the loading times, OF COURSE I would. Well I wouldn’t say that. I know pc gaming is a better investment but i love my xbox. Getting the xsx really upgraded my gaming experience. I know that for xbox there will be none to VERY little xsx exclusives. (Note xbox series x) but i still got it. Im glad my friends without xsx can play the games i can.

I’m not talking about it from a PC - Master race prospective, I do recognize pc is the superior platform for gaming tho. I’m on og PS4 and I’m happy with it.
I criticize the next generation of consoles being announced and released during a year where 60% of the entire work force of the *planet* saw their income negatively affected by Corona. Either salary cuts due to losing hours or outright fired.
This comes from the perspective of an ignorant consumer so, feel free to disregard.
I genuinely do not understand how both Sony and Microsoft didn’t realized most potencial buyers wouldn’t be able to afford these consoles due to the pandemic.
Added the fact that both companies manufacture and sell the consoles at a lost.
Meaning they need the consumers to, not only to purchase a new console, but also to invest in games, accessories, subscriptions, etc.
Considering that both companies were *well aware* of the processing chips shortages, and they knew they would *not* be able to manufacture enough consoles to fully stock the market and yet they decided to put their products on the market.
A small market which then was completely overtaken by Scalpers, who then started pushing the prices from 400-500 to 800-1200 up to 3.000 USD (such as in my country).
This creates an impossibility for most consumers to get a console.
Due the aforementioned processing chips shortage, they are unable to manufacture consoles at large numbers, leaving only handful consoles been made, which are then put on the market; only for them fall directly into the hands of scalpers, essentially creating a endless cycle.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason Sony is now walking back the “we believe in generations” statement is because they have realized what is happening but are unwilling to simply say: “Apologies gamers. We fucked up because we are greedy. But since we simply just can’t cancel the PS5, we are simply going to ‘postpone’’ our focus on it and keep the PS4 as our main source of income for the next couple of years.
Once our production line is back to normal, probably in 2023, then we will start focusing only on PS5.

7:37 Try playing most of Ubisoft games like Assassins Creed or Far Cry where they have the sprint/run mapped to L3 and there's no way to change it, you'll eventually have that drift issue.

Neither. I had the ps4 slim but sold it within like 8 months, mainly because I found it to be boring. I'm waiting on the slim redesign of the ps5 in a couple of years.
If you replace your HHD with an SSD in your PS4 Pro, you’ll be just fine! This guy is acting like you can just go to GameStop or Best Buy and pick up a PS5. He does in fact make cogent points about the features from the PS4 that’s missing from the PS5, but ignored the fact that backwards compatibility is a joke due to the lack of storage in a PS5. So if you weren’t one of those impatient people who sold their PS4 Pro thinking this economy would allow you to get a PS5… good luck finding a new PS4 or PS4 Pro. Being able to replace and increase your storage is a plus from both the PS3 and PS4, but a major shortcoming and somewhat a dealbreaker in a PS5. So I’ll wait until 2023 when they refresh the console look and can create a chip and processor to accommodate the shortage that’s preventing PS5s and XBoxs from being released in mass quantities.

I think that his is highly subjectional question. If we're talking (is it worth buying a ps5 if you have ps4). For example - I have a ps4 and played all ps4 exclusives there. And when I thought what to buy ps5 didn't really propose anything new. While yes, you can re-play all your games in 60fps which is nice, but I already played them. So I took an xbox series x which gave me like ton of new experience as I didn't ever owned xbox before, especially considering killer-feature which is a game pass.
So as you can see this all can be subjectional, yes, ps5 is cool and dual sense is amazing, but what new experience it can offer for me? Spider man, demon souls, ratchet 2 and returnal. And nothing more actually even announced apart from horizon
But if you didn't have the chance to play all the latest ps4 exclusives like ghost of tsushima or last of us 2 - then surely it's a good choice to upgrade (if possible considering all the shortages)
i bought a used ps4pro from my bfother as he upgraded to a ps5. the price for those hefre is stll insane and most of the games afre still compatible between both console so im not thinking that i got a bad deal for now
The PS5 UI is really lacking. It’s a PITA to find anything in your library. The sorting defaults to (pretty useless) „date“, and if you set it to „name“, it reverts as soon as you leave the library. The names of the games are only shown for the one you have selected, so you have to recognize them by the cover art. Folders don‘t exist, as you said. Why can‘t I just pin the games I want to the main screen? Manually looking for updates via the options button only works for those on the main screen, not the rest in the library (which doesn‘t make sense, as the main screen always shows the most recent ones, which are constantly being updated automatically, unlike the others that you haven‘t played for some time).
It’s pretty disappointing. As is the selection of PS5 games available, to be honest.
The one big issue with the ps4 is that it has so many flippin' issues. After every update there is some new glitch or bug or safe mode loop or something which makes me regret even getting this console

I got a ps4 slim but I upgraded the hard drive cause it was a 500GB hdd now I have a 2TB hdd in it for that BIG GAMES and I picked up a extra front USB hub that go with the slim. Its hard to find a ps5 but can you make a video of things you don't like of the ps5 that people can look out for if they want to get one for them self's? and keep up with the good videos
