Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It’s an inspiration and a pleasure watching you work. I’m taking my first steps in sewing, and already your clear examples have benefitted me greatly. With greetings from Cape Town!

Thank you! I had a general idea of how it was done, but this demonstration will make it way more neat!

Part 4? Could you do a chain stitch and blanket stitch and french hem?

What would you use a pad stitch for? All those stitches don’t seem to be decorative, so they’ll be pulled out later? Or are they in places not visible? Do they hold non- fusible interfacings in place?

pad stiching is used to combine demet and horsehair canvas and make it like one layer of 'fabric' - which is inside the bespoke jacket (so it's hidden), but it's a very important part of a bespoke jacket. The horsehair gives the form and the demet on the other side makes it soft for the chest. so, pad stitching is used to make those two materials 'one'. I hope this is clear :D

It helps to keep the collar nicely in place folded over so it doesn't flap back up

Where would you use pad stitch on garment please

on a bespoke suit jacket, you pad stitch the canvas and the demet together to create "one layer" and that is your support/structure from the shoulder to chest area. This gives a nice curved form where needed.
