    I got one of these at Dollar Tree once and it broke within a year, alot better than I was expecting honestly..

      Yep. Greenbrier International is Dollar Tree stuff. Everything from Dollar Tree says Greenbrier International on it. Some of it isn't absolutely terrible (Will perform it's basic function) but there are definitely limits to what can be had for a dollar. Dollar Tree is generally a whole store full of junk. Maybe a few really good deals.

    "Always remove the battery if consumed" probably means when it's dead. If its a Duraleak, it will probably leak before its even dead.

    I have a metal fan that is similar to this one. It's corded and has a very long cord, 4 blades. It works rather well.

    The price this thing must’ve been worth must’ve been more of an entertainment fee than a cost for the actual product, because this has to be one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while 😂😂

      It was well worth the comedy.

    Unbelievable, what an absolutely deplorable fan! The part after you discovered the hidden oscillating feature was the best, though.

      This is definitely one of the most abysmal I've encountered thus far.

    There's not many products that are directly powered off USB, or those that are are intended for use with a desktop computer in an office. The vast majority of them have a battery and charge over USB, becoming fully portable once charged; the convenience of USB being that it's smaller than an AC cord, universal throughout the world, and more practical in a vehicle or for use with a power bank.
    High capacity rechargeable batteries actually are ever so slightly bigger than standard alkaline sized batteries; I've noticed that they don't fit into several compartments properly. Might be why some manuals say not to use them. Ridiculous that the compartments can't be made a millimeter bigger to accomodate them, but I guess the demand isn't there since no one uses rechargeable batteries.
    This came from the Dollar Tree, or the Bean Tree for $1.25; I got it precisely because it resembled the Super Mute fan but I thought it might be slightly better since it was sold in a physical store and has proper English. I thought it might be interesting to compare it to the Super Mute ones, but alas looks like that won't be happening. Glad it made a comical video!

    Absolutely horrendous quality fan! Also, I was kind of upset that it doesn't have all of the funny stuff on the tag like the other two USB fans. That would've been hilarious.

  • @thewatchworks1372
    @thewatchworks1372 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Oh yes, the cheapo dollar tree fans, pretty sure they were actually recalled because they were found to be fire hazards, got extremely hot and started melting themselves. I think they were using a 1.5 V motor and massively overloading it.

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheese, not good. I'll have to take it apart and see if I can get any information off the motor about the voltage.

    • @thewatchworks1372
      @thewatchworks1372 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JordanU Don’t know if it would even be worth your time unless just for a autopsy to see how crap it really is internally. These motors are usually anonymous maybe except for some random little serial number.(these are really the most common type of DC motor, found and things from model trains to toys and then cheap crap like this, some of the higher end ones are actually decent, but the ones that you find in dollar tree stuff is usually not that great.) I suppose a good indication of its nominal voltage would be the amount of windings it has, usually these really cheap ones only have half the amount of rotor laminations and windings that the better higher voltage ones have.
