Did *_Beverly Hills Cop: Axle F_* pay better respect to the legacy character better than Disney's Sequel Trilogy? Yes, but not completely unscathed. Taggart is out of character; throwing his old partner and friend, Billy under the bus by not believing him. There's a chronological issue with Axle and his daughter; she's said to be 32, but yet in Part 3, Axle is presented as very much single and childless. So who's the mother and where is she? There's a 30 year backstory, much like Disney's Sequel Trilogy, that's more complicated than it needed to be.
I'm taking my niece and nephew to see Despicable Me this weekend, and this is only the second movie I've watched in theatres this year (the other one was Dune 2, of course). Chris is absolutely right; I have been nervous to take the kids to movies lately because they are filled with inappropriate things. I jumped on Mario Bros last year, and I'm doing the same this year with Despicable Me. Yes, the movies are mindless, but it's just a safe bit of fun. There's also no adult-targeted movies I actually want to watch this summer. So I'll just spend that money on the children.
I love how nobody mentions regarding the best Time Travel movies Time After Time and Somewhere In Tme! Really shows you how young Gore and Ng's audience is.
Time After Time is excellent, I haven't seen the other one. I just looked it up, it's written by Richard Matheson, one of my favourite writers so I can't believe I've never seen it.
Other time traveling movies, Time after Time with Mary Steenburgen, Malcom McDowell and David Warner. Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour...
Maxxine is interesting. the whole trilogy is interesting. I liked (not loved) X.. it was cool creepy, bloody.. but I don't think it was a masterpiece. PEARL was phenomenal. Machine I like a lot (but don't love) Individually I think it's a hit or miss series. But Amas a Complete Series... it is awesome!
I regret arriving late to the live. I saw the end and restarted. I also have to say I just do not like Steve Carell. I do not find him to be funny in the least. And it's not that I don't appreciate dead pan, I just don't think he's any good at it. I couldn't believe he got to play Maxwell Smart. Geez!
I love ya, Chris, but it must be a looong time since you’ve seen X. Maxxxine is a direct sequel to that film, and all of all Maxxxine’s flashbacks in this film are to moments in X, and literally repurpose footage from that film. The murders from X are also a direct plot point in Maxxxine. It’s a direct sequel to X, and Pearl is a direct prequel to X.
A24 for me feels like a feminist company, don’t need to say more, if u know u know. After heredity I haven’t liked any of their movies. And they probably hired a few old white nerds to make their movies look good.

I just saw Maxxxine thought it was better than Pearl and that it was more of a thriller then it was horror.
My roommate enjoyed the BHC Axel F movie.
I didn’t think it was as good as 1 or 2, and was surprised at the budget. Some of the green screen work/effects were pretty noticeable.
For me Axel F is the perfect example that a checklist doesn’t make a good movie. I thought it was pretty bad.
