    Materials we use to make our own greeting cards:
    Here are the card stock and paper companies I use for my business and recommend:
    - Red River offers high quality card stock for artists, illustrators and photographers. My favorites are their River Linen and Polar White Matte card stock: www.redrivercatalog.com/cards...
    - Unfortunately one of my recommended store for lower quantity card stock is going out of business. My current go-to supplier is (lower cost but you have to commit to higher quantity): www.thepapermillstore.com/car...
    It took me a couple of years before I started buying card stock in bulk once I committed to a single type of card stock. It's ok to start with small quantity even if the cost per sheet is higher, but do make sure you cards are profitable!
    ENVELOPES
    - Premium Euro Flap A2 Sized that you can buy individually: www.cardsandpockets.com/a2-eu...
    - If you can commit to 50 or more envelopes, this is a more economical option, especially when you can combine shipping with your card stock order: shrsl.com/2ywjw.
    - Most economical option if you just want kraft envelopes: amzn.to/2RVJ52x
    EQUIPMENT AND PACKAGING:
    - Epson V600 Scanner (what we use): amzn.to/3aMT0QB
    - Epson P900, the newest successor to our printer Epson P800, was released in late 2020: amzn.to/3eLHdpM
    - High precision Rotatrim paper trimmer/cutter (24in, also comes in other lengths): amzn.to/3jL40C1
    - Clear Bag A2 Sized: amzn.to/2Ub3vYl (the bags have to be slightly larger than the card to fit in both the card and envelope)
    - Clear Bag 5x7'' Sized: amzn.to/3qV3aG2 (the bags have to be slightly larger than the card to fit in both the card and envelope)
    - Electric Creasing Machine: amzn.to/2vw9Djt
    - Manual Scoring Board (what we were using before): amzn.to/37w2YUx

    Thank you for sharing your experience. I have been crafting my whole life and I have just decided to turn it into a business. I felt like I didn't believe in myself enough when I saw all those videos about becoming a millionaire overnight by selling stationery on Etsy because I know the process is different in reality. This is a very realistic and honest video.... I appreciate your honesty

    I appreciate your videos. When I first opened up my Etsy shop, I was selling printables. Thanks to you, I got the courage to sell greeting cards. I find they are selling better than my digital products. It's also easier to ship, so it's working out great. I am actually enjoying packing my orders. I thought it would actually stress me out.

      Good to know! I find packaging work kind of meditative even though it’s manual labor. Plus I usually listen to podcasts at the same time so it’s good time to multitask w/o frying my brain ha.

    Thank you, Cathy (Kathy?), for your observations based on your experiences. Somehow I stumbled onto your channel & am glad I did! I have a small photo & card printing business and it is enlightening to hear your experiences. Not looking at ventures as simply successes or failures, but also for what you can learn from every venture is an excellent point! How did I stumble... Oh, yes, looking at printer reviews & the small home card printing business... Thanks!!

    It’s a balance between our desires and the marketplace. My Christmas greeting cards sell best, but they are the one’s I really don’t like producing. But they sell, so I keep making them. If I just sold and produced what I like, the sales would be less. Oh well, what’s another wreath, no?

    • @EasySundayClub
      @EasySundayClub  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lol “what’s another wreath?” I’m at my 3rd wreath and I think I’ve reached my limit. We have to manage our creative energy to prevent fatigue or burnout, but yes it’s a constant balancing act.

    Yes, I think multiple streams of income is the best way to make full time income. Once you create art, you have to ask yourself, "how many different ways can I sell this" or 'how much different avenues can I go down to get as much revenue as I can out of this art that I took the time and love to create?" You can sell stickers, art prints, t-shirts, totes, mugs, notebooks, teach courses, etc. to increase your income with your art. I do have a question. I'm trying to decide if I should charge shipping or not. I see several Etsy shops selling 4x6 cards for $5. Some charge shipping, some don't. There is one in particular that has over ten thousand sales and does free shipping, going with USPS ground shipping with no tracking on orders under $20. Can you perhaps make a video talking about free shipping vs charging for shipping and the pros and cons of each? Thanks

    • @EasySundayClub
      @EasySundayClub  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have a wip draft file for this topic of shipping! It might take some weeks to get it out but it’s on my to do :).

    • @EasySundayClub
      @EasySundayClub  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I cover it a little bit in the shipping video I just made but basically I think they either use untrackable (cheaper) shipping method or know their AOV is higher and can absorb the shipping cost. Also their cost goes way down when producing cards at high volume.
