I can’t believe it took me 3 days to find there’s a new Marika Hackman song. This improves my life so much. I take it to mean there will be even more soon. Thank you, Marika. You’re the kind of musician that inspires fans whose whole week is improved by hearing a new song, even when something really big is happening in their lives. Like, I’m getting married tomorrow but a new Marika Hackman song has me buzzzzzing.
Pertinent considering the last year Marika released music under her main name was before Covid happened… isolation, the curated image of self-care, the lack of intimacy and authenticity, the contradictions of living in the 21st century. The soaring ambience at the end was such a nice touch. I’ve really needed that kind of sound. Of course, nothing without her signature seductive voice. Video concept is perfect too. Feels like I’m spiralling along with her in a state of dissociation
