It is one of my favorite cards. So much is going on... there's no grass, is he throwing to 2nd or 1st, do those cars get hit by foul balls, always loved that card
It looks like that fence has those giant spiral razor wires along the top. As you said, so much “going on”. Hilarious! Keep on keeping on T-Sean. I’ve been watching your videos since your “Funny or Die” days.
I always thought that Luis was the one catching the ball why have a shot of his back unless he's got a face that scares kids & dogs. dig those old cars
Fleer in the 1980s had some crazy cards. 1984 Fleer had Glenn Hubbard with a boa constrictor draped over his shoulders, and Jay Johnstone wearing a Budweiser umbrella hat. Tim Flannery posed with a surfboard on his 1988 Fleer card. Mickey Hatcher's 1986 Fleer card had him wearing a giant novelty baseball glove. And of course, there's the infamous 1989 Fleer Bill Ripken card, which was originally printed with an obscenity plainly visible on the knob of the bat.
That '73 Luis Alvarado card photo was a terrible choice by Topps. I remember Luis as a player, and that's probably him catching the ball either in a force at second or as the pivot man in a double play. The photo has to be from spring training. I don't remember whether the White Sox trained in Florida or Arizona back then. Oh yeah, before I forget: You have a new subscriber. I love the irreverent approach to anything with a staid or even pastoral history to it, kinda why I love the Marx brothers.
I'm so glad you found my channel and I love being compared to the Marx brothers. You also mentioned Jack Davis and he did the comics on the back of the cards in the early 60's. I have a lot of videos but some of my favorite are Traded, LeMaster of Cards, Looking For Some Mookie and Topps Heritage 2022 vs Topps 1973. And thanks again for the incredibly nice comments and I dig that you connect with Baseball Card Theater.
A great idea to add to my retirement list of activities: to go through my thousands of baseball cards and search for my 10 crappiest cards. I know there were a bunch. I can still see them in my head, sort of... That Luis Alvarado was amazing. Was it a little league photo? How many player's faces aren't shown on their card? Just his?
I just looked it up, that card is amazing!!! WTF? I was getting some cards together for an episode about player's butts. This is the worst/best example I've ever seen.
Another card I never knew about. Just looked it up. That will most likely will be in the next crappy card. I love when people tell me about cards I don't know about, so thanks.
@@dubeedaw I love you thought of the song!!! My wife doesn't even look at baseball cards but says that silly song is in her head a few days after watching it.
@@tseanshannon if you ever cross into other sports, look at the early 1970s Topps Basketball. Like 1973 & 74. Painted on Jerseys. There is a Willis Reed as an example where they put his name on the FRONT of the jersey instead of the team. I found this interesting.
I just looked it up. Jerry caught 2 games in 55 and 2 games in 57. That's weird they listed him as a catcher on the 56 card. Another 56 card has Bobby Hofman and his picture he's a catcher but they listed him as an infielder.
The Luis Alvarado card is belong “crappy” and transcends into its own wonderful category. Truly a work of art.

@@tseanshannon Truly a card that belongs in the Baseball Card HOF….

Nice eye on these cards! I am all about the Alvardo card. Lol. Enjoyed.
Even as a Red Sox fan, I agree with your crappy take on Buckner card... 😂 thanks T!
Glad to get some relief from Baseball Card Theater when I’m heartbroken for my O’s
I know. My Astros blew it too. You guys scored 1 run, Astros only scored 3. Hard to win with no offense.
Not gonna lie: I kinda dig the Luis Alvarado parking lot card 😂🙌🏻
Totally agree. I love the Alvarado card. It's one of my favorite cards!
That Buckner card cracks me up every time I see it. I loved Buckner though!

Every Panini Baseball card fits this category. I mean EVERY BASEBALL CARD.
Panini has cranked out some real crap. Not as bad as Donruss but close.
That rant about the Buckner card was priceless!
I like to think of it as a less poetic version of Teddy Roosevelt's "The Man in the Arena".
@@tseanshannon So complimenting you on that reply is kind of like the picture of the picture in the mirror, but genius reference.
This video needs cartoon chat bubbles.

Great stuff man! Very enjoyable! That photographer for the Buckner should be fined!!!!!

If you want bad, look up the 1909 Dockman and Sons card for Frank Chance.

@@tseanshannon I'm looking forward to that video.
I'm pretty sure Luis Alvarado is the guy on the right taking the throw.
You absolutely right. I alway thought that was a first baseman, but that's him covering second.
Look at an Allen and Gunter 2006 card of Jeremy burnitz, it looks like he has no face!
Another card I never knew about. Just looked it up. That will most likely will be in the next crappy card. I love when people tell me about cards I don't know about, so thanks.
That Luis Alvarado is the worst card I’ve ever seen. How embarrassing! 😂
Dizzy looks like he has a Painted on Hat
The whole card is painted, not just the hat.
@@Brotherjcardfinds I know. But, I it was the first thing that popped into my mind, guitar strum and all.

If you want a crappy card... look at 1981 Fleer Rafael Ramirez RC
I just looked that card up. How did I not know about this card?
@@tseanshannonbecause it was 1981. And it was fleer. And it was Rafael ramirez. 3 pretty good reasons.

What an awful photo! 🤣
Jerry lynch was an outfielder not a catcher

Those are definitely some crappy cards!
This was a crappy video
thanks for watching?
