Mainly it all depends on the enemys position, if you dont get punished, you can just stay in range or almost in range (so you just need one step) for your Q and then you just need to wait untill at least 2 targets get close enough to each other, thats the basic way but lets dive a little deeper. With W and 2+ enemys thetered it becomes very easy to reset, either you start Resets and AA´s right away, or you trigger the pull. It is then very important to either Q them right befor the pull triggers, or Q after the pull is done which is more relyable, once they are pulled you aim the Q basicaly at Maievs feet. The only thing that becomes tricky is when your pulls are delayed from each other, when you get lets say 2 enemys tethered and the one triggers the pull immediately and the other delays or even denies the pull, then you need to adjust correctly with your positioning to get the reset. But after practicing this specific thing, you will be able to reset in almost any given scenario. With your E you can reposition for a better angle and Wardens Cage for obv reasons. Other then that you need to predict the move directions (best exampel is, it becomes precitable when the enemy team trys to go for a kill) then you go in to a kinda side position and as you start to reset you just move along, try to keep that angle and adjust quick because the dynamics of the fight can change fast. While you reset continously, some enemy decide to get out of the fire and if your targets are splitting up you ofc cant reset anymore. Also Important: When you having a reset streak and the enemys start splitting up, it is then wise to just use the Q on 1 target instead of waiting for the enemy to maybe get back closer again. You dont always need the angle, when the enemy is stayng directly to each other (when they basicaly touching) then your Q can hit 2 targets even if you dont have your optimal angle. And then when you get to the 7+ resets you have to remember that more resets cost additional time, enemys will have there abilitys back soon and might punish you.
@@spavogel7625 whoa, thank for the generous explanation yeah when the W pull doesn't pull together i often misses the reset, point blank Q sometimes messes up the angle, like during 0:36, i have no idea that angle is possible XD one thing i learn from maiev is that she benefit from flanking/side position the most to get the resets, althought like u said, people start splitting up when they notice me

2:26 this kidney dodge T_T im watching this and cant believe. how u not dying? here how my games going on: when im go in to pull everyone just hit me once and im half, then i jump to live another second and hopefully blink out with B after, or die when u going in everyone just run and not punishing u - how and why is that?
i rly like maiev yet from wc3 as a character, i keep trying get good on her, but she is so hard, harder then ktz, harder then genj, harder then anyone, get those valuable combos from her is incredebly unstable. as maiev i lose pretty any trade, got decent soak and whole game doing nothing but going combo-get punished-res\use b T_T feel like trash after few games. mood is waving from "someday i can be as good as on this vid" to "ok lets never play this hero". its so hard and punishing. keep losing, team flame on me and i know they`re right - i got 0 value. its unbearable keep playing hero u can do 0 value of while u face so many chars that can press 1 btn and clear huge pack of creeps or take off 70% someones (mine) hp. usually i chose hero i like and keep practicing until feel confident. im at pretty good shape on zj valeera ktz tracer lunara, but when im on maiev i realise that my skillcap is a-click and here`s me losing another combo\fight\game\division but keep trying maiev love her but i guess she just not for me x_x
@@Dfleckt I see you appreciate maievs difficulty level, it just takes a lot of time, experiences and fails to know how to execute her abilitys more impactful. Just take it slow and develop your maiev skill, impcat will come by it self then. Im not exactly sure what you mean with enemys not punishing me, sometimes i got my team in my back or the enemys just know i can kill them as well if they try to go for me, or maybe i missunderstand the question
