There's a time difference of 30 minutes between Pk and Ind. We actually got independence on midnight of 15th of aug but here in Pakistan it was 14th, so we celebrate independence according to our time zone.

Pakistan got independence on 14th of August and announcement was made at 11:57pm and due to some issues the announcement of India's independence was made at 12:03am which is apparently 15th of August. So both countries celebrate their independence on their respective dates
Just to keep the facts straight I would like to add here that lord Mountbatten who was the last viceroy wanted the people of the subcontinent to celebrate their independence on a date (15th of Aug) at which japan had surrendered in the WW2. Lord Mountbatten also played an important role in that surrender. He was in japan leading his army in 1945 before coming to india in march 1947. He was also the one who signed the document declaring the surrender of Japan on the 15th of August 1945. So he wanted us also to celebrate the event on his desired date. He wanted his name to be remembered for these 2 significant events in the world. So he offered the 15th of aug to both leaders Jinnah and Gandhi. Gandhi agreed as he didn't have any issues with the date and just wanted to get done with the partition. While Jinnah disagreed and insisted that we won't start our journey on a day on which a nation will be lamenting the fall of their country. So that's why Jinnah choose the 14th of aug and Gandhi went on with the 15th. The Jinnah was a great and far-sighted leader full of principles but unfortunately, we Pakistanis are not on his path to success. This info is available on the internet if someone wants to verify.

I want to say one thing..i don't know why i can relate with sundas so much...as she was saying she is a little bit confused about her opinions..and couldn't take her own decisions thinking that what will people say or my closed ones do not get offended.. maybe this is the problem of all over Muslim and asian girls..cause our upbringing was like this..we were taught to please people or maintain good relations with family or extended family.. but often we forget that we have a life of ourselves.. why can't i live it as per my wish? I know rules and regulations are important but you have to trust your daughter or your wife..that she can handle herself and take good care of her own..if we can't go outside then how will we learn.? How will we gather experience? If we,girls are sure and confidant about what we want in our life maybe than all of these problems can go.
Shahveer doesn't understand the difficulties girls face in comparison with guys, going for a world tour might be easy for shahveer because he's a guy, but if sundas does the same thing she'll be put down in different ways from the society and maybe her own relatives too. Also shahveer is right as well, she should stop caring about people, but when constant comments keep coming in, it does build a kind of fear, which makes her feel it's better to not do anything at all. I actually have a bestfriend with whom I share a bond which is so similar to the bond you guys share and I can say that there is always so much that we want to say to each other but we do that when we meet or if it's been really long since we last met then we would just randomly call each other on the phone somebody and talk for hours until there's a reason for us to stop otherwise we won't so maybe it's natural to happen among such friendships.

I just wanted to make a point about the independence date. I read an article along time ago and learned that both the countries have different dates not because of any conflict or anything it was because of the time difference. Areas in India had a time difference of a few minutes and in India the date had changed to 15th in most of the cities whereas in Pakistan it was still 14th. I am not sure if it is any authentic but I just wanted to share my side of the information ☺️☺️.

I can relate very well to what Sundas was saying. I'm also vulnerable and get very affected by what people say but I don't let them know that it’s affecting me instead just stay quiet. I also find it very difficult to say no to people (people pleaser I guess). And if people say something I just agree to it and don't say that you're wrong (even when they really are wrong) because I really don't have the mood or energy to start any fight and just want to maintain peace. I believe many desi girls can relate to this as we are brought up this way and always have to think about 'log kya kahenge' before doing anything.

I just wanted to make a point about the independence date. I read an article along time ago and learned that both the countries have different dates not because of any conflict or anything it was because of the time difference. Areas in India had a time difference of a few minutes and in India the date had changed to 15th in most of the cities whereas in Pakistan it was still 14th. I am not sure if it is any authentic but I just wanted to share my side of the information ☺️☺️.

I can relate very well to what Sundas was saying. I'm also vulnerable and get very affected by what people say but I don't let them know that it’s affecting me instead just stay quiet. I also find it very difficult to say no to people (people pleaser I guess). And if people say something I just agree to it and don't say that you're wrong (even when they really are wrong) because I really don't have the mood or energy to start any fight and just want to maintain peace. I believe many desi girls can relate to this as we are brought up this way and always have to think about 'log kya kahenge' before doing anything.
