Tampa and Indianapolis are on the top of my list. ATL being a close 3rd. For the sheer amount of people that go through Atlanta, it's actually impressive how easy and efficient it is.
New Orleans security is quick? I don't think so. Last time I flew out of there (2 yrs ago) - it was almost 40 minutes - at 7 in the morning on a Saturday. I agree that Indy and LGA need to be looked at. In addition, since you did this list, Kansas City has opened a brand new terminal that is marvelous. Excellent dining and drinking available post-security. All glass air bridges. Wonderful facility.
Fort Lauderdale FLL is so ideal due to size and being able to navigate quick to your destination point. Not too big or small. PBI is also real nice; it's medium and is aesthetically pleasing inside with a luxurious look.
I would also put Indianapolis on this list, as well as Harry Reid in Vegas and believe it or not, LaGuardia deserves Recognition because it is absolutely stunning since they rebuilt it. LGA literally went from the worst airport on the planet to one of the best.
CLT is my favorite all around airport. The shopping and food choices are great with plenty of rocking chairs. My new favorite is LGA. They more or less took the old one and threw it into Flushing Bay and built a whole new airport there. It is more inviting and open with better food choices and more shopping.
I have had two million miles on my butt in airline seats over 20-plus years. The only Airport I agree with you about on this list is Portland. Tampa LOL, New Orleans (how much did they pay you), Miami, yes to all except you have to be able to speak Spanish. And final, Dallas Love field, PARKING PARKING PARKING. Finding a nice place to eat, Plus you have to drive through Dallas traffic on City Streets.
You should redo this by sizes: mega, large, medium, and small. It’s hard to compare a small airport such as PAE (Seattle-Everett) to SEA (Seattle-Tacoma), when the latter is the second busiest airport on the west coast (yes it’s busier than SFO)

Sky Harbor deserves to be up there. They have friendly staff and have a good selection of restaurants.

"horrendously chaotic" like how is DFW a bad airport? for its size it's actually very easy to navigate.
