It's been hot, humid, stormy here as well. The worse kind of weather for me. I've been trying to figure out why the game slices the hex territory into trivial pursuit pie slices. How does terrain work then?
Hi! I will try to do my best to explain the way terrain is portrayed on the hex sides, for this game, however, I did provide a link below, to the Der Weltkrieg rules, if you want to read them. As you mentioned, the hexes are like the wedges from Trivial Pursuit, and in essence, it allows the game to have multiple terrain types, on one hex. The terrain affects movement, combat, supply length, you name it. The thing that I try to remember when I am moving units, is that the movement cost is determined through which hexside the unit passes through. It makes for some interesting decision making. For combat, it comes into play massively for the defender, in that the defender, for the most part, has the choice of determining the terrain type they are defending in/across. They can choose to defend with the terrain type of the hex side directly across from the attacker, or the terrain type of the hex sides, on either side, adjacent to the hex side that is directly across from the attacker. I Hope that made sense. There is much more to it than that, but I hope that helps. Well said!
And I do not know about you, but when it does become November, I am sure I will be winging about the cold :)
