d2 music was great as well, but I still get chills when I play Diablo 1. Just the atmosphere in general. It scares the pants off of you. Butcher? uhhh no, imma go down a level or two, maybe take on leoric, and then. MAYBE i will be ready for the butcher. IN my opinion, the scariest boss of d2 is Mephisto. Duriel is a close second. People sometimes forget Diablo is also a horror game. Not one time in D3 did I feel any sort of anxiety about facing something. It's slam your face into enemies until they die, get loot, repeat.
One of my favourite things as a teenager was playing Diablo II with my younger brother, sometimes even with the whole family. This was 10 years after the game's initial release. I continue, to this day, to hold the rare impromptu Diablo II LAN party; because it's fun to meet up, share snacks and game a day or two away. Will the servers for this game be online in 10 years? In 20? - Will you be able to share your passion for the game with your friends and family down the road? Ever notice how for game developers and creators they always talk about those old games they used to play, that shaped their understanding of gaming culture, that formed their opinion of how a game should be? *Those* games are usually still accessible to some degree, in part thanks to GOG (they do more than just sell games - they enable them to be sold) and in part due to the internet not being so well developed. But imagine in 25 years, when someone describes having been influenced in their childhood by a great game they played, only to learn that the game won't ever be available for you to try. Not available to play and enjoy; not available to be studied, to be learned from. Will we be poorer as a culture because of this? Maybe I'm just old, but it seems to me these things are important to gaming as a culture; that our history be a living and accessible one; not one with an off-switch. At same time there are still many games being published without these restrictions. And it's not like gaming culture will end, it's simply shifting. So I say: Hello New World! |
I am afraid that is the nature of the era we are in now. Everything going to be online or in the cloud. But we will see the horrors that it will bring. We already have games that are unplayable because you have to be online all the time or the servers don't excist anymore. If you want you could check out Accursed Farms. The person who manage that channel has a couple of vids where he talks about these issues and the problems we might be facing in the future of gaming.

Why does the game look completely different in the trailer than it currently does in beta? so the beta graphics and gameplay doesn't look as good as in the trailer..
Because stupid blizzard changed the structure of the game!
1:32 😱, yup I’m definitely playing him lol
I think enemies shouldn't shine when receiving damage, cause this pollutes the screen too much and take away the darkness feel. It would be better if they simply bled and reacted as in Diablo I and II. For this it would be interesting and necessary to increase the contrast and texture of the characters with the scenery but without increase colors.
There's probably gonna be a setting for that
Absolutely agree. I hate that.
They butchered the Diablo series so bad with diablo 3 i have zero faith that blizzard will make good on this game.
@@coreynoneofyourbuisness9382 I don't mind diablo 3, what's so bad about it?

@@Ask_1994 Indeed, also its awesome we got a peek at Inarius too.
Also I HOPE Diablo will be back with a new form too.
@@DURIEL1 I'm sure he will, the last bit of lore we got from D3 was that Adria ensured Diablo's return.
the Prime Evil's never truly go away they just keep coming back over and over again by the sounds of it this Lillith is the daughter of hatred that means Mephisto, Lord of Hatred's daughter this could be a diablo game we have been waiting for and if you see the scene with the barbarian climbing after something it looks like another player a sorceress... and they said you could meet and trade with other players in the world it looks like there will be pvp so ..... we might just have a proper successor to Diablo 2 after all and I cant wait.
I'd love there to be a Samurai class, like a fusion of the D2 paladin and assassin. They talked about a place called Xiansai in D3, so it would be cool to have a Eastern-inspired class.

Well that was fast, I didn't expected for them to kill whatever enthusiasm I had so quickly.
if its as good as reaper of souls i'm in
the activision catch is that the gameplay will be layed out for the typical console controller limiting your active buttons to either 2 analog sticks + 4 should buttons or either 1 analog stick + 4 sings and 4 shoulder buttons... meaning we get 4 active skills at best 8.... so no boring. Edit: sorry its 3 active skills because you need 1 button for the meele attack...
Please bring D2's vision radius back... That was the core of feeling helpless in game... And was awesome
I think it was just an artifact of how they made the game to seem like monsters were more alive and imposing than they really were combined with low health and lots of them coming from seemingly nowhere to create moment to moment immediacy which worked awesomely and Poe also does very well...all because it was on tiles and 2d ....David Breivik even said it would be extremely difficult to remaster d2 for similar reasons...sure they could try for d4 but it has to be done in a meaningful way...d4 demo was rushed out to cool the 2018 fire I think so u might get ur wish down the pipeline :)

The lighting seems a lot more like D1&2 again. But I would have wanted to hear some of the background music...
Because let's not forget how important it was for the hopeless atmosphere.
d2 music was great as well, but I still get chills when I play Diablo 1.

So I say:
Hello New World!
