The fact that they already had a pic of East saved as the background on their phone 🥺😭
Jane and Andy are my parents. Jane passed away December 8th 2023. East is still home with my dad. My mom’s cancer spread to her brain and she lost her battle. This experience made my mom so happy I’m grateful to have this memory of her.
Just a note they adopted her in 2019.

That dog is GORGEOUS. And the perfect size. How could you pass up such a precious baby
We all know that dog that gets overlooked, for us it was a boxer mix named Dino.. he was the sweetest dog ever and super smiley but because he looks... well a bit dorky people overlooked him a lot. When I started working there I asked who he was bc he was so so sweet and the lady said "oh Dino? No one has ever asked about him" my heart broke then and there. I went back to his space and cried holding him... HE IS NOW ADOPTED AND VERY VERY HAPPY!

I adopted a dog that had been overlooked many times. I just met him and boom, we were in love. Had him 4 years now and hes my sweet velcro baby

Oh my goodness East looks so much like my Lucy Belle,We found her (on a back road ) hiding behind a snow bank dead of winter.. Absolutely the best kid I ever was blessed with,had he for almost 13 yrs. Sadley I lost her 9-30-2022. So very happy for her...Looking for another like her.

Jane's daughter updated in the comments here - They did successfully adopt East and brought her into their lives/home. Jane has now passed away, her cancer had spread to her brain and she wasn't able to fight it. But her husband Andy still has East and cares for her.

Why was she constantly overlooked? She's lovely! I can't understand why she isn't good enough for most people.
Black dogs are very overlooked cause they don’t have a “unique” look which sucks cause they are just as great as other dogs

I don't understand why they never trotted East out for a meet and greet. I rarely saw a "requested" dog on the show just a bunch of dogs that fit the requested points that people were looking for. Was no one ever looking for a "perfect" dog?

Folks, when looking for a dog to adopt, don't insist on a flashy appearance. Get a dog with a more neutral look. Then you can accessorize with colorful bandannas, jeweled collars, etc. You can change the fashion for variety every day. Have fun with it! "Average-looking" dogs are the best for this. Enjoy!
