Really liked the shoe! Not super bouncy but i don’t need that. Feel very stable in these shoes and that is the most important part for me. Definitely good choice so far.
Have meniscus tear, has caused pronation even in my walking. Tried on a ton of different stability shoes. I have a wide midfoot and in the toe box. Size 12 to 12.5 in most. I got the 12 in a 2E. This was the most comfortable stability shoe I tried on. Hoping this will get me back running when I'm ready but also really helps with my walking.
I have flat feet and tried on 880v14's. Those didn't fit me well since there's more support on the inner part of the shoe. I heard the 860's are more for flat feet so I ordered a pair online and thankfully the shoe fits great for me. I like them so much I ordered another pair of v13's since I also heard that they made major changes to the 860 v14 and they don't fit like the v13's do.
Your comment made me go buy the v13s instead of the 14s and I’m glad I did I love the comfort and stability, I had the 1080v12s before and those were just to cushiony you felt like you just sank into your shoe and had no support and my back would hurt so bad. These on the other hand are soft and supportive I love them. Sucks the 14s changed tho 😭
I just bought this, true to size 42 2E wide, I have bunion and flat feet and hope this will be comfortable for daily use and running. If not will go with 1080 with custom made orthotics. I tried brooks adrenaline gts and ON Cloudflyer 4 wide, both didn't secure my feet well from the back but this one did.
How does it compare with the last year's version in terms of foam? It was a little too clunky when i was going recovery pace but for faster daily pace it was good. Heel heavy for the previous version
Thanks for the video Ryan. As someone who has run in 860s for the last decade or so, I am not impressed with the switch to Fresh Foam. They have no "bounce" to them anymore and it feels a bit like you are stepping in sand when running. I put in about 30-40 miles per week so I would go through 3-4 pairs a year as I'm a bigger runner 6'2" 205. Will be looking at stability options from other brands now.
Love the 680’s been my go to for years. Unfortunately, the redesign changes to the material and front of the toe, they removed exterior barrier covering part, has left these useless in the rain. Previous versions I could run even in pretty heavy rain and still not have a soaking wet foot and shoe. This new design I went for an easy 4 miles in light rain and my feet and shoes were soaked! Very disappointing. Great shoe, but better hope for good weather on race day!
I love the fresh foam vongo v5. Disappointed new balance isn't making them any more. It's perfect for my feet. Love the cushion and how my feet can breath. Most shoes cause my feet to get too hot and that creats pain for me. What new balance matches up to this shoe
I'm currently running the Saucony omni 20 as I need pronate a lot. I've tried the 860v11 but found them a little too hard underfoot. Is the v13 significantly bouncier than the 11?
Based on the video these have snug fitting and is a bit heavy so I'm wondering if there are any easier and more breathable models. I need some comfy and light breathable shoes for work and nature. Any suggestions on the model anybody?
I tried to do a wet parkrun in the 860v12 the other day. It was not grippy at all and I almost fell over a lot. I managed to finish but i had to take a lot of detours and even stop and walk at moments
Good fit on these shoes but I challenge the New Balance RND team to make this shoe lighter. It feels like I'm wearing 5lb ankle weights when I run in these.

@@Chriselchingon23thank you for your comment, i wonder if i should grab 1080v12 and 860v13 and now seeing your comment i know what i will grab.
Love love thus sneaker. Just purchased it in D width. The toe box and stability of this sneaker is superb. New Balance 860v13 is the best🎉❤

Just came across your channel, you have really well put together video already. All you need is time now!!!

Great Review Ryan! Thank you so much

You’re a fast talker, had to switch to .75 😊 Great info on the shoe.

Great shoe, but better hope for good weather on race day!
The foam in the V12 wasn't very comfortable I felt.
i found the V12s had a super fit but yea i felt that the foam was a bit to firm for my taste
My go to shoes! But long time on the market and still expensive
Thank you for your time. Which NB is good for under pronation?
What shoes would you compare to these directly?
860 v13 vs Vongo v5? Reason to get one over the other? Thank you!
Any preference of the 860 compared to the Vongo V5 or Guide 15? Thanks
The 860 for sure. I really enjoyed that too later of bouncier blue foam compared to the pure fresh foam X experience

Haven’t tried the 11s but from what I understand these have more squish to them
Got these to replace my worn out vomero 16s. How would you compare these?
You mentioned near the end that this isn't the bounciest stability shoe you have come across. Which ones would you recommend that are bouncier?
Tempus from Saucony is a stability shoe with more bounce to it. It’s also much lighter
@@RyansRunningReviewsYT agree but the Tempus didn't seem to have the (medial) support.

Hi Ryan. Will 860 be enough for walking only or u need v5 vongo
860 will be fine
Does the 860v12 have good grip? Does that have lateral posts too? I don’t feel safe with anything with lateral posts. I have extremely bad ankles
I tried to do a wet parkrun in the 860v12 the other day. It was not grippy at all and I almost fell over a lot. I managed to finish but i had to take a lot of detours and even stop and walk at moments

if compare to 1080v12 , which is better?
860 is a stability shoe. 1080 is a neutral shoe
@@RyansRunningReviewsYT thanks for your insight 👍
Wasn't sure if I accidentally left my video settings on .75x. Well done restraining that race horse of a mouth so that the rest of us could keep up 🤣
Why use many words when few words do trick 😂
