Brian when he was clinically depressed, Belushi when he was alive, Mike Love when he thought he was Mick Jagger, and So Cal when it was still awesome...
Indeed...but to be fair, SoCal is still fucking glorious. I lived in El Segundo, Redondo Beach (worked in Hermosa) and in Long Beach (over 10 years). There's good & bad, but for a gal who grew up in a small town in Western Kentucky, SoCal was & will forever be the only place that ever felt like home, like magic, like it was so alive. I moved from there 8 years ago, and I miss it every single day.

Dennis Wilson, the drummer was the only Beach Boy, who actually surfed. Granted, he was prolly on acid. I think what's funny about the skit, was that Brian was something of a recluse, at the time. Hardly leaving his room, let alone going surfing! Lol!

Nice Monaco there, if nobody noticed it. Fun fact: the bluesmobile in the Blues Brothers was a decommissioned Dodge Monaco California Highway Patrol vehicle!
The contrast between Mike and Dennis is staggering. Mike is trying so hard to be cool and falls flat on his (far too prominent) ass, while Dennis is not trying to do anything except drum, and he comes off as the man.
That skit was not making fun of Brian! And it wasn't on Saturday Night Live; Belushi and Aykroyd were appearing on a Beach Boys Special. A particularly mean thing to do to Brian?? You're joking? You don't think they actually busted into his house and forced him to go surfing? He was totally in on it.
