I just got into anime this month. I’m 30. I watched Mamoru Hosada’s Belle, and I liked it a lot. Eventually, I made it to Shinkoto’s Your Name. Holy hell, I didn’t think it could be topped. Then I heard of A Silent Voice, and on the premise alone, I blind-purchased the blu-ray. Your Name kept me tensed and highly invested. A Silent Voice took me through every emotion. It was so hard to watch at times, and so hard to face. We all have done something stupid as a kid, and while I never basked in bullying, I was no saint, and I did join in bullying sometimes. I felt much like Shoya does in this story. I myself was never bullied, but I struggle with depression and some days I hate myself. A Silent Voice is an incredible film, one I can relate to. I may not have been as ruthless as Shoya and the other bullies of this story, but I still contributed to another person’s pain when I was a kid at times. I’m grateful I grew out of that, and I hope those classmates who were targets at my school are doing well.

If you're even considering looking for a new anime to watch, they are both worth your time. However with that said. I just got into anime this month. I’m 30. I watched Mamoru Hosada’s Belle, and I liked it a lot. Eventually, I made it to Shinkoto’s Your Name. Holy hell, I didn’t think it could be topped. Then I heard of A Silent Voice, and on the premise alone, I blind-purchased the blu-ray. Your Name kept me tensed and highly invested. A Silent Voice took me through every emotion. It was so hard to watch at times, and so hard to face. We all have done something stupid as a kid, and while I never basked in bullying, I was no saint, and I did join in bullying sometimes. I felt much like Shoya does in this story. I myself was never bullied, but I struggle with depression and some days I hate myself. A Silent Voice is an incredible film, one I can relate to. I may not have been as ruthless as Shoya and the other bullies of this story, but I still contributed to another person’s pain when I was a kid at times. I’m grateful I grew out of that, and I hope those classmates who were targets at my school are doing well.
I honestly didn’t cry for a silent voice but I did get sad but for some reason when I watched your name I became depressed it showed me what the meaning of life is

Everything was going good unitl this guy give "Ending scene" credit to A silent voice . Bro seriously 😒 Your name ending is just masterpiece and cannot get over it no matter how many time you watch it. The playing of song at last alway hit hard
"Your Name" is heartfelt but "A Silent Voice" hits right in the feels hard. Both great Anime films.
People would think silent voice is more impactful and shit which im not saying it isn't sad or that it didn't leave an effect on me it's just that Your Name story was waaayy deeper to me and harder to understand.
The beginning scene of the movie itself to me is masterful and once you finish the movie you would realize what it really meant which makes the concept of the plot in it just genius, seriously.
I really loved silent voice but Your Name felt so much deeper and sadder to me. The only anime I've ever cried in, I still remember the "I love you scene" it took me sooo off guard that I couldn't control my cries anymore 🥲
Both are soo good and I recommend ♥️✌️
I love both honestly. It's true that your name will make me emotional but I literally cry every single time I watch a silent voice. The emotions on that anime are unparalleled. If you're even considering looking for a new anime to watch, they are both worth your time. However with that said. A silent voice will leave you speechless in tears and very happy that you watched it to the very very end. It will always be in my top 5 list. No matter what animes may get created.

Everyone’s different. It also depends if you relate to the characters or not. I heavily relate to the characters in A Silent Voice and bawled my eyes out every time I watched it

Silence voice has a level of depth where if you dont undersrand what its all about then you will just confuse but once you understand the depth of the story then you can cry.
The movies - A Silent Voice , I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, and 5 centimeters per second can send chills and waves of emotionality through the spine if felt so deeply in the ocean of artistically unfathomable and abysmal life accounts ... These are not any animations , or movies but the real philosophical mirrorization of life ....
