Welcome to Cambodia 😊. If i may recommend you can put some bean sprout with the porridge and try the fish porridge as well which i like to eat every morning as well.

You can ask your Tok Tok driver take you to Phum Preakdak, there are many food cultures sell as street food. I am not sure if morning, lunch or afternoon is more popular you can ask receptionist they will know very well. A lot of yummy food out there.

Wow! All the foods at Sala Hotel look so yummy and real authentic Khmer food. I love it how you tried all the Khmer foods, and that’s how you should do wherever you go, you have to try their foods. Yummmm…. that is perfectly cooked rice. Just the way I like it, sometime I like it a little bit more explode but the consistency of your porridge is perfect, again sometime I like it a little thicker. I miss my mom’s porridge, hers is perfect😝 😊 and have plenty of meat,herbs and vegetables variety to cater to my taste. 😋
I am learning that the art/science of porridge is very important!!! No right or wrong just preference (in the moment) And yes!!! being able to personalise it to your own taste🥰😋AMAZING!!! 😁
@@vintagefoodfarm yes! Khmer food is all about personalizing to your taste. At every Khmer home, growing up there were an array of sauces , meats, vegetables, and herbs to choose from. Everyone of my family members like the same food differently. I don’t see this these days.

Food is awesome looking ! Very nice place. In my favorite City that I've never been. Really enjoy seeing SR any and all places. Great job showing us & a terrific slow start to the day ! (I love pepper) Wonderful way to experience the food culture - you two have it all figured out. - - - A bit pricey for my budget - but I suppose we get what we pay for ?!? - - - A 3 hour tour of the city for $5 is more my financial style. 🤓 I just don't eat bugs worms or spiders. You gave me terrific ideas for trying the food there ! > I love garlic too..... and..... and.....

They have it there in Vietnam too but in Vietnam it’s called Hu Tieu in Cambodia it’s Kuy Tiew or Katiew. It’s originally a Cambodian- Chinese dish, it is popular in Vietnam mainly in the Mekong Delta region and HCM you’ll find this dish. The word Kuy Tieu is Chinese, which means noodles 😆. The word kuy tieu is used in Thailand and some other countries too but there noodle soup is different than the Cambodian style. Pho is just a word the Vietnamese used for a noodle dish, derived from their version of the Chinese name for flat noodles or something. So basically they all mean noodles 😂just different types and soup base if different too

Thank you for a lovely video. I am pleasantly surprised by how modern the city looks, and very impressed with the proper decent pedestrian paths on the street. Are there many cafes/ restaurants and shops within walking distance from this hotel? or do you always need a tuk-tuk?
Its so cheap to take a Tuk tuk and we find it too hot to walk. 🥰You could in the evening but we chose to tuk tuk it everywhere😂👍🛺

Hi. I'm diabetic and can't eat the omni-present white rice or white rice noodles. Are there brown rice options at the restaurants in Siem Reap? Or, clean eating places? Thanks!
I think there will be. There are a lot of cool cafes with vegan and healthy food options so that would be your best bet😊I have seen less processed rice but never brown but we didn't try the cool cafes so much😁
In early 70s, my uncle bought a piece of land filled with ranbutan trees. I ate so many rambutan fruits until I got so sick. The trees were cut down because sapphire mine had began.

You should try dried phnom penh noodle. There's no soup. Cambodians add a lot of sugar, pepper, lime juice to it. They sometimes add soy sauce. Sugar is the trick for Phnom Penh noodle. Don't be mistaken the word Phnom Penh. It's just the name of the noodle. It can be dried or soup. Try the dried Phnom Penh noodle with a lot of sugar.
