    Hey I am looking to use a Hall Proximity sensor wired with an Arduino UNO in order to turn off a motor when the sensor detects a magnet - do you know whether I need to use a PNP sensor or NPN?

    How good would this sensor be for gear teeth counting ? Does there need to be a magnet for every tooth or can the gear be manufactured with a magnetic material instead ?

    • @robojax
      @robojax  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the gap between teeth. The smaller the gap the lower the accuracy. Also if you are looking for certain speed this might not work, test it to see if it work for your application

    Hi!
    Cool video
    My 3D printer is old and uses an enclosed electronic board (Gen7Br)
    So, I would like to use the LJ12A3-4-Z / BX proximity sensor only with Arduino. Making an analog reading to measure distance through the Monitor Serial, can you help me with the code?

    I wonder if you use a higher voltage towards its upper range max, if the sensor would detect from a further distance? As opposed to to being almost right up against it.

    • @robojax
      @robojax  ปีที่แล้ว

      no. higher voltage will kill it.

    • @AnunnakiAaron
      @AnunnakiAaron ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robojax That's why I specified "towards its upper range, max". Shouldn't kill it if you're still within its spec'd voltage range.

    Hello. Can you use the same sensor but have it count the RPM or a rotating object? Great video and well explained. Thank you!

    • @robojax
      @robojax  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, I believe this is very slow reacting device. I did not find any information to show it is fast. So you can't use it for RPM counter.

      @@robojax Thank you for your reply. I was afraid it might be so. Do you know of any other sensor to achieve this besides the small one everyone is making a idea of? Say a more industrial type. Thanks

  • @freelectron2029
    @freelectron2029 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    nope. doesnt work. either code is broken or you have used a faulty hall switch. i tried this and the hall switch wont power up with 5v and when i connect the brown power wire to 12v common to the arduino 12v it immediately pulls the out pin high and closes the relay as well as grounds the black wire on the switch. exactly same hall switch, exactly same relay and used two different arduino unos. didnt work.

    • @jhoughjr1
      @jhoughjr1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      well putting 12V on your Arduino will kill it so not surprised it didn't work.

    Sir can use SERVO MOTOR in relay?

    • @robojax
      @robojax  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Relay is a switch which turns ON or OFF. Servo needs PWM signal . So you can turn ON or OFF the servo but can't control is the speed of it if you connect it using relay.

    • @robojax
      @robojax  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, when you sue two sensor, they should be configured either as AND or OR configuration. in AND configuration if both sensor detected the output is ON . in OR configuration we need only ONE sensor to detect and the output will be on. I will see if got two sensors, I will make video. this is interesting. thanks.
