    It's a pity no one could challenge Johnson because he is the best 400m runner of all time and still the only man to cover the distance under 43 seconds in the world championship in 1993 4x400 last leg he ran 42.9 and he also won around 50 400m races in a row.

    Noah Lyles' dad, Kevin, was the alternate for this team. You see him at 5:38. Great genes in that family.

    I just love how athletics/sports erodes racial barriers and strenthens racial unity between races of different peoples, mainly blacks whites, Asian etc...... That we are all human beings alike.....

    Im sorry, that lead runner for Jamaica looked so worried in the blocks, then stormed out with fire. Best part of this race. ❤

    For the Jamaicans to finish with with 5 seconds of the Americans is unbelievable.

    Amazing to think the following season Butch Reynolds and Michael Johnson would be missing off the relay because of injuries, and the USA still won but were given a run for their money bu a resurgent GB.

    Wow, I hadn't realised the British team had regressed by over 6(!!) seconds in the 4 years since the 1991 World Championship...

    • @darrenshaw767
      @darrenshaw767 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheYorkMan They had lost Akabussi and Redmond to injury and retirement. Regis was past his best, Black was not in the shape he was in 91.

      @@darrenshaw767 I get that, but surely there must have been better quality runners in the British team... Not four who would be (on average) 1.5 seconds a lap slower!
      It was embarrassing to watch, frankly..

    • @gezzarandom
      @gezzarandom 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well they came back strongly in Atlanta the following season and almost won it.
