Instead of the usual coastal drive, we explore hidden towns that many have never heard of, including Goomeri, Goondiwindi, Parkes, and Moyhu in the King Valley. This journey is perfect for road trip enthusiasts, adventure seekers, and those looking to discover Australia's best off-the-beaten-path destinations.
We start in Goomeri, Queensland, where we take a well-deserved break at the local bakery, known for its delicious pies. From there, we continue our drive to Goondiwindi, a charming town near the border of New South Wales and Queensland, before heading south to Parkes, New South Wales, famous for the Parkes Radio Telescope and and its role in the Apollo 11 moon landing - Not to mention the Elvis Festival. Finally, we reach Moyhu in the King Valley, known for its stunning scenic views, great food, and amazing wineries.

Such a big drive but breaking it up with the tiny country towns for an alternative scenic route looks the cutest! Appreciate the food tour as well with the pies, country pubs and wineries. lol, Brown Brothers - I ordered the exact same thing when I went there on Jan. beautiful Air BnB to finish your journey at too. Chris likes that they had cookies 🍪
We had a really great time in those towns, it is nice to get away from the usual highway! Plus that pub was iconic. Would consider driving 17 hours to go back for another Parma haha. Yeah the Prosecco didn’t hit like it has before 🤣
