  • As the war in Ukraine enters its third year, President Zelensky has ordered a huge building programme to try and repel the Russian army.
    Along the frontline Ukrainian engineers are installing miles of defensive fortifications, from trenches to concrete bunkers.
    They have an air of permanence, another sign of how positional this war has become.

      The doorway will be inside the trench and hard to directly hit, will also probably have a sandbag /log wall built in front and looks like its very thick solid steel, the sides and roof will most likely have 5+ feet of soil/logs placed against it, id would say it would take multiple direct hits to penetrate, this is 10x better than any fortifcation ive seen so far in this war which was usually a hole with logs on it and maybe 2 feet of soil, at least its something =0

    This is actually what military strategy in most civilization game I played and it's very realistic.I usually don't have a better military forces most in my late game in the modern era and when I compare the Ukraine and Russia war it's almost the same of what I seen in my video game.I got a surprise attack from a superior civilization with a more military force and lose some control territory,but I was able to stop them with prepared fortification of forts or entrenched infantry able to withstand countless attack.Usually I would be in a stalemate until the a weak point of enemy position is shown after the continuous exchange of artillery rounds and battle for air superiority and I can say trench warfare is still effective unless you or your enemy have alot of long range precision missile or unconventional weapon(or mabye in the near future orbital strike).

    • @imyarek
      @imyarek 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The only difference is in a game you're playing against a computer dummy, which is really weak in Civ games, in reality you're defending against a human opponent which can improvise and develop new tactics on the go and who's also not bounded by game rules and mechanics. And also Russia does have a lot of missiles, way more than Ukraine currently has, so at this moment these Ukrainian defenses look kinda week, but we'll see, maybe NATO will start funding Ukraine once again after the US elections.
