Hi Erin, you've had a great sewing year and the new coverstitch machine sounds exciting! I've seen lots of lovely Hovea jackets, I think it's quite oversized so check the finished measurements. Happy new year to you and all your family 🎉
Thank you Tania! Happy New Year to you and your family as well! My machine arrived yesterday and I got to play around on it a little so that was a fun way to end the year 🤗 Oooo thank you for the heads up about the Hovea. I’ll definitely double check the measurements before I cut into anything.
All your plans look like so much fun! I especially like the the mystery quilt! I love mysteries - whether it be tv shows, cozy mysteries in book form or the games. I'm really going to enjoy watching your progress on it! Your 2024 sounds very successful and it's been fun collaborating with you and just hanging out. I really thank the TH-cam gods for letting us become YT friends. I'll definitely be cheering you on in 2025 (and hopefully we can do more collabs!)❤❤❤
Thanks Lara! 2024 was a great sewing year for both of us and I’m excited to see what we get up to in 2025! YT has brought the greatest “strangers” into my life 🤗 I’m hoping the murder mystery part of the quilt will help keep me on track because if I didn’t have that component to keep me honest, then I’d probably quickly fall behind 😬
You did quite well accomplishing your "touch points" over the last year. Your make 9 looks great; I look forward to watching your channel and see how you get on.
Have loved watching your 2024 makes and looking forward to watching your makes in 2025. Happy New Year to you and your family from down in country Victoria Australia. 🎉🎉
I’m really excited about the quilted coat! I have an old store bought quilted coverlet that I’ll make it out of, but the plan is to piece and quilt my own fabric in the future if I like this first version and wear it a lot. The image in my mind of that final version is SO COOL 😎
You really accomplished so much this year! I ended up loving hand sewing more than I used to. It's so relaxing. You made so many bags! I love bag making. I need more pants so bad too!! I've never done a Make 9 because I just can't commit to it. I really wish we had more than 24 hours in a day to enjoy our hobbies. I want to get into ceramics in the new year. Happy New Year Erin!
Happy New Year to you too! Hand sewing is so satisfying that the little extra effort makes it worth it. I hope you make it happen with the ceramics! I totally agree with you that we need more hours in the day to play with our hobbies!
Oh, you are eeeevil! 😆😆 I had to look up the Mystery quilt along, too - I've got 6 days to make up my mind now 😬 My mom and sister have been to Machu Pichu, and we all love mysteries. Mom likes to beat the detective to the finish, though - I go along for the ride and am surprised with everyone else haha. You've got a good Make 9 plan going, and I would say the knits (except for learning the coverstitch) might qualify for in-between quickies haha. I did really well with choosing 2 projects for the month this last year so plan to continue that, but almost always get bonus things in. I've done multiples of the Hudson, Morgan and York patterns; never have tried any Itch to Stitch. Happy New Year!! 😘
I didn’t realize I was sowing seeds of chaos by mentioning the Murder Mystery Quilt but a few people have commented that they immediately paused the video to go look it up lol. Do it! It seems like it’s just the right mystery for you to solve 😉 Yes! In-between quickies is definitely going to be the job of the knitwear in my life. You definitely succeeded with your 2+ a month, and you ended up with some amazing additions to your wardrobe 🤗
I’m so glad I found your channel in 2025. I really am looking forward to another year with you. Your make nine is very ambitious but I know you’ll do so well. I’m gonna create my own make 9 and try it this year. I tried to create it through Rochelle’s channel, but I couldn’t figure it out. I’ll just do my own. Have a fun trip to see your family.
I’m so glad TH-cam “introduced” us and I’ve loved getting to know you a bit through our little comments chats! The internet is really cool it turns out! I just thought about all of the projects/patterns I already have that constantly pop up in my mind and started listing them out. Then I kind of prioritized some of them and ended up with the 9 projects that got me really excited.
hi Erin A really comprehensive make 9 plan with looks awesome. I like that it's not too restrictive but you have a focus. I really like you approach to your 2024 make 9 as well. Some food for though which I'm going to consider as I make my own plans for 2025. Happy New Year and see you next vlog🤗 PS: The murder mystery quilt... off to look at this NOW!!. I quilted years ago but have forgotten everything. But combining that with a murder mystery sounds too good to be true!
Thank you! I tried to keep it pretty open because I’m not great at sticking to super specific plans and I’m hoping that will help lead to success. The Murder Mystery Quilt Subscription comes with a quilting 101 type course if you need to brush up on any skills. I think the murder mystery part will help keep me on track every month since I want to solve the murder! Let me know if you decide to do it.
Hi Erin! You had such a productive 2024, both with physical projects and knowledge gained! The Murder MysteryQuilt is so intriguing! I stopped your video and looked it up immediately when you put the logo on the screen 🙂 I doubt I join (but maybe…?) but it looks so cool! I’m excited for you for your coverstitch machine and I’m looking forward to learning more about them thru you! (I don’t have one and have never used one) I’m a sew whatever I feel like whenever I feel like it person. Something that could be considered a goal for me is I have wanted to use my treadle more. I don’t imagine right now I would do a full garment on it, but I would like to use it for some things.
Hear me out…You could make the murder mystery quilt ON your treadle! If not you can live vicariously through me because I’m realllyyyy going to try to make the block every month on time so that I can solve the mystery. 2024 was a great year for me in the sewing room and I’m looking forward to 2025!
Hi Erin! Great job on your intentions for 2024 and wonderful, attainable make 9 for 2025. Thanks for reminding me that I need to make up my Liberty Fabric as well as introducing me to the fisterra top. I had only seen pictures of the dress and dismissed it since I don’t wear many dresses. I really like the look of the top as another option. I need to toile several button ups and other woven patterns this year to get my TNTs with fit first. Then I can feel more confident in cutting my precious fabrics. But first, I really want to make the Stanton Hoody dress to be cozy at home this winter with leggings or joggers under. It’s been a little colder lately and only supposed to get colder. Happy new year!
Thank you! When I was listing out the patterns I REALLY want to make, I realized they were kind of fitting into mini categories and that helped me feel a lot more free. I’m hoping I can get most of these accomplished- all would be amazing! I didn’t realize the Stanton had a dress option! That sounds incredibly comfy!
11:35 I have started working on a jacket myself! I’m not sure I’m using the right fabric, but we shall see! 19:41 that sweater looks so cute! I hope it works out for you! 23:00 I just let my heart work on what it wants to work on. If I make plans, they are very loose plans, like one day I’d kinda like to make X
That sounds fun! What jacket are you making? Picking the right type of fabric is the biggest challenge for me usually. I’m also a “follow my heart” type of sewist so I’m honestly very curious to see how many of these I end up making. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you too! It's so nice to have you here and I’m excited to see what 2025 brings in the sewing room 🤗
I love the plans you have but I think the quilted jacket is really stunning. The vogue trouser reminds me of the pants we wore in the 90s!

Great year for you!! That mystery quilt sounds fun!!! I'd love to sew the Morgan jeans with you!!!
That would be fun! Maybe we could do a collab or just hep each other through it?
@ErinSews we could do a collaboration together!! That would be fun and work through them together!!
That would be great! Would you mind emailing me at contacterinsews@gmail.com and we can do some planning?
loved your video
Thanks so much!

@ it was an expansion pack that also included a half zip neckband/collar vs hoodie. It was part of the club a couple years ago
11:35 I have started working on a jacket myself! I’m not sure I’m using the right fabric, but we shall see!

Make 9 never worked for me because I am a sew what I want (and what my family wants).
That’s how I pick my projects too, so I’m semi expecting this to be a flop but if nothing else, it was fun to pick the projects! 😂
