When Nagito appeared and said "Makoto Naegi" while the music hits its peak and cuts off abruptly just made it seem like we truly entered the twilight zone, and seeing Nagito identify as Makoto was the last straw to breaking us.

My head cannon is the monokuma/Junko hated the fact that he couldn't punish Mondo for disobeying rules and picking him up. So he made Shure that no one sounded even remotely like him for the next installments. That's why Mondo voice actor was in only one game
