    If you ever busk in Cheltenham reply with the date and I will with out a doubt come and watch. See during race week we made £630! One tremendous evening I will never forget. Also I saw the saxophonist too!!

    Hey I got my start In Gloucester (my then home town) busking at 17 when I lost my job ,I was in a band at time, Fire Clowns , I like your content I've been busking again recently as I cant do my day job for health reasons in Rugby (my now home town) you should visit here if you haven't ,it has good pedestrian area and I don't see many buskers in the week!

    What if you rig a giant umbrella over your gear and one connected on the mic stand for days it looks rainy? a diy double brellie set up I think would do! unless its pouring then its break time in the cafe 😅☔ play a set in a poncho! bring a less expensive acoustic for rainy days...maybe set up under an overhang from a shop, you probably done that 🤠 but bring a rain poncho to whip on fast! that's how we do it in Denmark ☺🎸 mate, set 2 you made Boston tips! oiii! ya you had alot on your plate between weather and the musical late nights, best to just recharge your energy in the day and busk close to Brighton with the night gigs. And enjoy that 🌤 ya go back on a sunny day! cheers mate!

      Haha! I love it! Some kind of DIY market tent?! I’ve actually seen somebody with the umbrella set up - I guess the problem is that the foot traffic still has to deal with the rain 🤣🙈☔️🤷‍♂️ what we need is for council’s to create ‘rainy day busking pitches’ that have a marquee or something? Maybe something I’ll think about when the channel is bigger… 🧐😃 appreciate the support so much and all the kind words 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

    Come do a set with me in Wolverhampton then ;)
    I've done Gloucester a few times, day busking there isn't particularly special most pubs shops are run down and the town has gone downhill in the past 5years, I hate the main road because its on a slant, so you feel like your gonna slowly roll downhill performing, however if you busk a Friday or Saturday night under the big bridge at the end of the strip, there is some good money to be made there.

    • @AugustRadioProject
      @AugustRadioProject  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s awesome advice dude!! It did feel a little run down on some streets. A lot of these high streets need a musician to brighten them up… especially in these times! Overall I felt it was a pretty nice vibe 🙌🏻 I will definitely be coming to wolves at some point. I’d like to do a little midlands tour - Birmingham, Coventry, Wolves… I’ll let you know when I’m heading that way 🙌🏻😃

    • @TheAshCooper
      @TheAshCooper ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AugustRadioProject Coventry is hit and miss. Mainly cause you can busk both in the city limits but also in the shopping centre on the outskirts.
      Birmingham is pretty solid. But you definitely need an amplified set up to compete, so I don't play there anymore.
      Wolves is great for me. But it's my home city too. So that helps a great deal. They have specific regulations but as and when you head up here. I'll send you a copy of the spot timetable.
      Peace. Good weather for busking today. Rain then until the weekend so gotta try and maximise profit while it's sunny eh. Take care man.

    Have you ever busked without an amp? How did that go? Also, when it comes to busking, do you think it's better to get an electro-acoustic guitar, or is it simple enough to add a pickup or whatever to an acoustic guitar?

    • @AugustRadioProject
      @AugustRadioProject  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have only busked without an amp in Germany (where you’re not allowed to use amplification) and it went rather well but I guess nobody has an amp so the public are used to it. 🙌🏻 I’ve yet to try it in a place where amplification is allowed... It’s a video experiment that I intend to do for sure 😊 the beauty of an electro-acoustic is that it’s all been set up correctly and therefore should work with no problems. If installing a pick up or mic into the guitar, just make sure whoever does it knows what they’re doing. I had an acoustic that had a mic installed but it was a weak signal so I didn’t ever use it for non-acoustic stuff! I hope that helps 🎸😃

    Great honest video. It's interesting how variable your donations are between locations/days. Gives me encouragement that I'm not doing anything wrong when I don't reach your high totals (I live in hope!).
    Do you think donations roughly correlate to the number of people passing by? (you mentioned the second spot was quieter).
    Love the bit at the end about the message. That would have made my day.

    • @TheAshCooper
      @TheAshCooper ปีที่แล้ว

      what do you consider a high total ? when I started out doing this busking life, I used to think £40 in a day was good going, but then again this was over a decade ago. now I find averaging on £20ph is good enough for me, so I just work 2 hours a day.
      (Just curious to what other peoples standards are or expectations)

    • @philc8622
      @philc8622 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheAshCooper Hi Ash, Well I know ARP seems to make over £100 in a day quite often. His average (depending on how you calculate it) seems to be £20 - £40 per hour of busking. That is way more than I've made, but I'm relatively new to this. Before I started, I read in a blog that £8 - £16 per hour was about average for the UK. Now, inspired by ARP I'm going to see if I can increase my average this year (I'm just collecting for charity). In one of ARP's videos there is a guy who left a comment that he made $900 in a day (in the USA)!
