This resort tour was filmed during our 2023 Xmas getaway from December 22nd to the 29Th of 2023. As I mention in the video we had an excellent time at this resort, probably my second favourite the Royalton being the first but depending on the time of year you will be going you might have a deferent experience. Hi Marco, I am planning to visit there in the beginning of April, I have two questions 1. is internet free in the Resort or do we have to pay, if yes how much ? 2... Does the Cad $ also works there ?

You can get some internet at the front seat and it’s totally free and works throughout the resort. You’ll get better reception in the lobby but I was using it at the pools and it was ok.
Canadian $ bills is accepted in Cuba but but if your buying from the gift shop or some excursions that will be in usd. You can pay with your visa. They will not accept capital one and American Express. For instance I always tip in 5$ bills and pay my excursions with my visa.

It was right in front of the Dhawa. The Dhawa is built on a riff. The water is 5 feet to 20 feet deep. Lots to explore. Have a safe trip

Salut Marco! What was the food situation? A lot of shortages or not too bad?

As mentioned in my video it was one of the best places in Cuba we have eating. No shortage at all but in my return on December 29th I read that lots of locals came to the resort for new year and pretty much ravage the buffet leaving the tourists with no food. This happened to me in the past and it’s really unpleasant and the staff and management won’t do anything as most of them are their family and friends. I didn’t experience that and we did have plenty to eat. 5* for the food while we were there between December 22nd and 29th of 2023. Thanks for the support and watching my video Richard . @@marcomillette4012 What the heck, lol? I have never heard of this happening before. I was in Cayo Coco last year and we had some shortages but I have heard it is much worse now with even egg and water shortages. Time for the embargo to end and for partners like Canada step up to trading even more.

@@slipperyjim1497 my friend just came back from Cayo Guillermo and they ran short of pretty much everything. No beer, water, toilet paper, pop, eggs, coffee ect. Yea definitely time for a change. We are leaving for Trinidad at the end of April in a 5 star resort, hope it will not disappoint.

@@marcomillette4012 Oh man, it must be horrific for the locals then. On a purely selfish level the beach in Cayo Coco was incredible but food is such an important part of a vacation. We are looking at Mexico instead.

@@slipperyjim1497 can’t go wrong with Mexico or Dominican. A bit more expensive but if food is one of your top priorities it’s well worth it.
