Damn, I couldn’t agree more Dave. I think their biggest loss was not signing Connell this year. He’s the best bass fisherman in the world at the moment and he brought that professional side to the company instead of the amateur side. And to your point, they are purposefully making these videos because fishing season is upon us and bait sales skyrocket in late February/early March.

It doesn’t appear to be anything about mending fences but rather the nature of the business model googan has established for themselves. Which is the weird thing about googan. Their baits are premium priced or more and perform no better than Zoom brand baits which sell for $3-4. I don’t like paying for a label personally. Glad to see yakpak get away from it honestly so he and norm can get back to doing what made them big to begin with. I always thought it was odd how the original googan group went to expand and grabbed you guys up and almost all of you now have left them. Just glad Noah didn’t get involved in it.

i think the audience plays a huge part in the second wave googans feeling unloved. if you look in their (the googan channel) comment section it's full of "we want the real googans" and that has got to be a really shitty feeling. Being the "B-team" is a hard job.

I feel like being an OG to the Googan squad content and when I think about Googans, It's JB, AP, Lunkers, Flair, LFG etc. All you guys came in years later and I feel like I didn't know you all that much and I miss the old school guys. Googan sucks if you're an experienced fisherman you're not buying much Googan anything. Banditos are legit, but they tear up too quick. I feel like Googan is the brand for guys that don't fish 90 percent of the year and then they go spam spawning beds for 3 weeks straight.

I fish year round no matter what and the only people i see using primarily Googan anything are 15 year olds throwing frogs on a medium action spinning reel combo in a bluebird sky at 2 in the afternoon.
I also agree. Googan baits are overpriced mid tier tackle. For soft plastics I love Yamamotos, they are excellent and jigs I find custom local ones work best

It's already been addressed. Ayo and Norm decided to move away from making fishing specific content, because their other videos were getting more views. There was some miscommunication between Lojo, Ayo, and Norm for sure. At the end of the day this isn't beef IMO. Maybe, they all got their feelings hurt, but it basically comes down to miscommunication.

This goes well beyond just those involved as the support both companies gives to content makers is appreciated. Whether it's Googan with you, LFG, one rod or others; or 6th Sense with PigpatrolTV, TyPigPatrol or Angler Ash both companies give us anglers a variety to watch and enjoy. We don't need drama. We just need fishing. And btw, Yak's decision is not drama it's just a choice he feels is best for him. Carry on to all the channels and content

I started watching you when you were filming with Norm and Kicking there bass. When you guys started with Lews, I was glued to what you had to say about their products. Because of you, I bought several of their products and truly do enjoy them. After you left Lews and went to Googan, you had an episode where you cut down a Lews product that I had bought because you talked so highly about it. I use several products like Googan, Lews, and Strike King because they work. You influenced me and many others to buy products that you have since cut down and want use to continue to listen how your word should mean something to use. I respect that you are loyal to Googan but do not respect how you worked with Lews and then cut them down in videos after you went to Googan. Lews is an awesome product and and I thank you for introducing them to me but when you did that I had to watch you cut it down when I and many others bought it because of you. Get why you switched to Googan but don't get how you expect people to trust you after how you treated the people that loved Lews because of you.
I'm sorry but Lews and Strike King amoung others are superior products. Some of googans soft plastics have the same pattern for the lure designer of the rage tail. Basically all identical but are higher priced and worse quality. Nothing about googan was innovative. Their moto should be...better fishing through influencing. Googan stuff sits on the shelves up here and tournament guys steer clear of it. If you are going to purchase from influencer recommendations look to experts. These guys are influencers and not dedicated fisherman that teach and give honest opinions. Tactical bassin will give you the best on many products and overall aren't bought and sold by companies (they do have favorites).
lews is just a shitty quantum at this point. In my opinion shimano daiwai rapala/vmc megabass jackall and st croix are some of the best companies to support

Much of their bread and butter is pushing product of particular companies (and typically high-end ones, where the money is). They just do it in an aww-shucks, "hey guys" kind of way that fools the common fanboy. it's all about a business model and they know how to make the needed sales.
Here's a theory: What he said: "We had the same bait engineer as 6th Sense." What he meant: Googan went to the same factory that 6th Sense uses in China, to investigate whether there was an exclusivity agreement in place between 6th Sense and the factory for their specific bait designs. After discovering there were no such agreements in place, Googan decided to enlist the factory to produce the exact same baits with only cosmetic changes (without the knowledge or consent of 6th Sense). Fishing world with youtube, brands sorta leaving the angler focus to now influencer focus, mix in some FFS drama and it's just in a weird place I think most don't like as much anymore but we are so invested in it we just hope it gets better.
I wouldn’t with friends. It does matter what type of family you have though. Mine went into the appliance business and was successful for 44 years until covid took us out. Couldn’t even get refills on stock. No stock = no sales. I’m 23 now, I worked there from 19-21 years old. Worked with my dad there for about 6 months before he left and got another job because sales wasn’t doing to good. Also all my uncles, all my great uncles, grandma and grandpa worked there and never had any family matters come into doing business. If the family is strong. It won’t be a big deal at all. Some families have weak points in it. Or they just don’t care and will mix family matters into the business.
I don’t give a shit about the drama, and don’t want any of it personally. I’m here to watch the fun and the fishing, and if that can’t be what the videos are I’ll have to move on.

Some of this drama is avoidable like Lunkers reacting to a 4 year old Milliken video. Some of it is natural. Shit happens. All of it is hurting the brand.
to be completely honest, you (lojo) and tj were the only 2 googan squad left that i liked. dont get me wrong, i dont dislike rob and the others, but i cant put my finger on it, they dont seem like the kinds of guys id enjoy hanging out with at the end of the day.
I will say the same thing I said on Milligan's video. Everyone one after the first squarebill, jerk bait, spinnerbait etc. is taking from someone else's design. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, live with it. Personally, I don't look at who made it, I buy what I think will catch fish.
Ok...my thoughts on this is this...I am a native houstonian born down town. 6th sense is north of there. A LOCAL TEXAS COMPANY. I now reside in Austin TX hill county a few hours away from Googan HQ...ANOTHER LOCAL TEXAS COMPANY. I feel both baits are great I use both because I don't make time for politics in fishing I feel there is no room for it. It literally can take the true meaning and fun from fishing. So something I have been thinking about for a few months, a Googan/6th sense bait colab or something. I have been thinking of reaching out to the head of both companies with this idea to shut the door once and for all on this. Let's break the Internet!
Having the same bait engineer is going to result in unavoidable similarities across brands. In fact, most lures of a certain type are probably going to be PRETTY similar REGARDLESS of brand. The real problem is brands like Berkley blatantly ripping off designs from smaller JDM tackle companies and advertising it like its a brand new thing. Providing an industry alternative by making something more affordable and accessible is one thing, but to do it without giving credit where it's due is goofy.
Googan and 6th Sense need to organize an annual charity fishing tournament to settle the beef every year 😂 Both camps should make cinema quality vlogs of the whole thing. It's the only way 💯

My only commentary to this is that you said you will continue to be friends with TJ because you will never judge someone for making business decisions that are best for their lives. That being said, the reason you stopped being friends with Ayo and Norm is because of them making a business decision that was best for them and their lives. I don't know if there is anything else that had happened between you all behind the scenes (nor is that any of our business to know), but maybe take that into consideration and maybe think about rekindling old friendships. You seemed to really cherish reflecting on the old times when you posted your boat removal video the other day, so I hope you all can be friends again sometime in the future.
Lojo fell off after he chose money and the googan brand over his friends. Yak finally found enough heart to come out and say that money and a sponsor isnt enough for him to burn bridges with real people who actually care about him like you did to Ayo and Norm.
I remember watching Jon, flair and Ap before Googan was a thing and then Lojo and 1rod and then watching Googan slowly becoming a thing and getting others into the sport helped me step up my gain in fishing to not just fishing but getting kids into fishing.
Lojo talking about how he also felt out of place in Googan and having the other guys like Ayo, Norm, and Yak, it makes a lot of sense why he felt slighted when those guys decided to leave without telling him. I've been there and felt out of place before in certain instances and friends that you mesh well with definitely helps a lot. The man had a whole white board full of video ideas with those guys before they decided to leave, so I understand a lot more now why he felt the way he did. Still, Ayo, Norm and now Yak needed to do what's best for them and their own careers. Hopefully one day they'll get it all hashed out and we'll see them all together again.

Milliken was a cool dude back in the day. Him and Flair both living in Nebraska had that competitive feel to it. I was a fan at one point. Then he got weird, grew his hair out, cocky, bad facial hair and overly confident. He now resembles a bum behind a 7/11 begging for change. He lost alot of people's respect after firing shots at Googan. You spoke of loyalty, Googanites are loyal to the core. His 4yr old video with only 225k views speaks volumes of how little it made waves. Stay Classy Lojo! We love you!

I saw the original Milliken video and didn’t really care that they were similar. I’ve been around long enough to know how design and manufacturing works. Being an avid guitar player, this kind of stuff happens all the time. People want to be controversial about it but there’s really only a few factories mass producing stuff so inevitably you’ll have similar, sometimes almost identical products on the market from two or more competing brands. Now, I’m a huge fan of 6th sense gear. Been fishing it for a few years now and really like it. Thst said, I’ve never used a single Googan bait or lure. But!!! I do enjoy all your, Rob, and Jon’s content as well as Andrew’s content. I don’t give a shit what you use to catch fish and make content as long as it’s entertaining!!! I feel like being an OG to the Googan squad content and when I think about Googans, It's JB, AP, Lunkers, Flair, LFG etc. All you guys came in years later and I feel like I didn't know you all that much and I miss the old school guys. Googans became more about money than actually fishing. As soon as all the baits were launched, the fishing content stopped.
Baits that last for 1 fish that cost $8 per pack.

I don't do the baits often but my gold series rod is awesome although I don't think I'd buy another one.

It's already been addressed. Ayo and Norm decided to move away from making fishing specific content, because their other videos were getting more views. There was some miscommunication between Lojo, Ayo, and Norm for sure. At the end of the day this isn't beef IMO. Maybe, they all got their feelings hurt, but it basically comes down to miscommunication.

Whether it's Googan with you, LFG, one rod or others; or 6th Sense with PigpatrolTV, TyPigPatrol or Angler Ash both companies give us anglers a variety to watch and enjoy. We don't need drama. We just need fishing. And btw, Yak's decision is not drama it's just a choice he feels is best for him. Carry on to all the channels and content

I started watching you when you were filming with Norm and Kicking there bass. When you guys started with Lews, I was glued to what you had to say about their products. Because of you, I bought several of their products and truly do enjoy them. After you left Lews and went to Googan, you had an episode where you cut down a Lews product that I had bought because you talked so highly about it. I use several products like Googan, Lews, and Strike King because they work. You influenced me and many others to buy products that you have since cut down and want use to continue to listen how your word should mean something to use. I respect that you are loyal to Googan but do not respect how you worked with Lews and then cut them down in videos after you went to Googan. Lews is an awesome product and and I thank you for introducing them to me but when you did that I had to watch you cut it down when I and many others bought it because of you. Get why you switched to Googan but don't get how you expect people to trust you after how you treated the people that loved Lews because of you.
I'm sorry but Lews and Strike King amoung others are superior products. Some of googans soft plastics have the same pattern for the lure designer of the rage tail. Basically all identical but are higher priced and worse quality. Nothing about googan was innovative. Their moto should be...better fishing through influencing. Googan stuff sits on the shelves up here and tournament guys steer clear of it. If you are going to purchase from influencer recommendations look to experts. These guys are influencers and not dedicated fisherman that teach and give honest opinions. Tactical bassin will give you the best on many products and overall aren't bought and sold by companies (they do have favorites).
lews is just a shitty quantum at this point. In my opinion shimano daiwai rapala/vmc megabass jackall and st croix are some of the best companies to support

Much of their bread and butter is pushing product of particular companies (and typically high-end ones, where the money is). They just do it in an aww-shucks, "hey guys" kind of way that fools the common fanboy. it's all about a business model and they know how to make the needed sales.

What he said: "We had the same bait engineer as 6th Sense."
What he meant: Googan went to the same factory that 6th Sense uses in China, to investigate whether there was an exclusivity agreement in place between 6th Sense and the factory for their specific bait designs. After discovering there were no such agreements in place, Googan decided to enlist the factory to produce the exact same baits with only cosmetic changes (without the knowledge or consent of 6th Sense). This allowed them to go straight to production with exact replicas of their competitor's lures, without the cost or hassle of locating a factory or designing/testing lures.

I wouldn’t with friends. It does matter what type of family you have though. Mine went into the appliance business and was successful for 44 years until covid took us out. Couldn’t even get refills on stock. No stock = no sales. I’m 23 now, I worked there from 19-21 years old. Worked with my dad there for about 6 months before he left and got another job because sales wasn’t doing to good. Also all my uncles, all my great uncles, grandma and grandpa worked there and never had any family matters come into doing business. If the family is strong. It won’t be a big deal at all. Some families have weak points in it. Or they just don’t care and will mix family matters into the business.
I remember seeing milkman trash a fish a few years back and from there on out I never acknowledge him as a “fisherman”.

Ok...my thoughts on this is this...I am a native houstonian born down town. 6th sense is north of there. A LOCAL TEXAS COMPANY. I now reside in Austin TX hill county a few hours away from Googan HQ...ANOTHER LOCAL TEXAS COMPANY. I feel both baits are great I use both because I don't make time for politics in fishing I feel there is no room for it. It literally can take the true meaning and fun from fishing. So something I have been thinking about for a few months, a Googan/6th sense bait colab or something. I have been thinking of reaching out to the head of both companies with this idea to shut the door once and for all on this. Let's break the Internet!

Having the same bait engineer is going to result in unavoidable similarities across brands. In fact, most lures of a certain type are probably going to be PRETTY similar REGARDLESS of brand. The real problem is brands like Berkley blatantly ripping off designs from smaller JDM tackle companies and advertising it like its a brand new thing. Providing an industry alternative by making something more affordable and accessible is one thing, but to do it without giving credit where it's due is goofy.
Googan and 6th Sense need to organize an annual charity fishing tournament to settle the beef every year 😂 Both camps should make cinema quality vlogs of the whole thing. It's the only way 💯

I remember watching Jon, flair and Ap before Googan was a thing and then Lojo and 1rod and then watching Googan slowly becoming a thing and getting others into the sport helped me step up my gain in fishing to not just fishing but getting kids into fishing.
Lojo talking about how he also felt out of place in Googan and having the other guys like Ayo, Norm, and Yak, it makes a lot of sense why he felt slighted when those guys decided to leave without telling him. I've been there and felt out of place before in certain instances and friends that you mesh well with definitely helps a lot. The man had a whole white board full of video ideas with those guys before they decided to leave, so I understand a lot more now why he felt the way he did. Still, Ayo, Norm and now Yak needed to do what's best for them and their own careers. Hopefully one day they'll get it all hashed out and we'll see them all together again.

He lost alot of people's respect after firing shots at Googan. You spoke of loyalty, Googanites are loyal to the core. I saw the original Milliken video and didn’t really care that they were similar. I’ve been around long enough to know how design and manufacturing works. Being an avid guitar player, this kind of stuff happens all the time. People want to be controversial about it but there’s really only a few factories mass producing stuff so inevitably you’ll have similar, sometimes almost identical products on the market from two or more competing brands.
Now, I’m a huge fan of 6th sense gear. Been fishing it for a few years now and really like it. Thst said, I’ve never used a single Googan bait or lure.
But!!! I do enjoy all your, Rob, and Jon’s content as well as Andrew’s content. I don’t give a shit what you use to catch fish and make content as long as it’s entertaining!!!

I won’t purchase or fish a single sixth sense product entirely because of my disdain for Millikan. I can’t stand that guy and his attitude. He exposed one of my favorite public spots which is only 6 acres and then cried about people fishing ‘his’ spots. Yeah the guys a good bass angler but I would never want to fish with him.
