- Kumpo is a dance featuring a straw puppet that does not involve human performers. Despite the absence of human intervention, the straw puppet is capable of dancing and spinning to the rhythm of music for hours. The puppet appears alive, running, moving, and presenting attractions as if it has a human presence inside manipulating its movements.
You know what though, even if its not a spirit, the athleticism and stamina of them is incredible. Big respect.
I've seen this from start to finish, their ain't no humans in that grass trust
Are u dumb ? How can a human possibly move like that while being inside the grass ? use common sense and stop disrespecting peoples cultures !

My most sincere respects to the African culture and the incredible people of those villages
Amazing sharing❤❤❤
Like all ancient cultures, African culture has its own grandeur, strength and mysticism. African has its own unique way to connect with nature and all its energy, but unfortunately even it fall prey to ambition of Abrahamic religions. May Mother Nature protect Africa 🙏
I had thought. Michael Jackson was the swiftest dancer.
Simply incredible 👏
Much love from Sénégal ❤
They literally said that it is rude to inquire about who is inside or to touch or separate the strands. And you can see the legs

Watch some more videos. Especially the end part of the dance where they simply keep becoming shorter, still rotating and end up in ashes. Not everyone, and not every video, though.
@@ndahiya3730Did you not listen to the video? There are two different demonstrations. One involves a man in a costume made of palm leaves, and the other involves a puppet. If one ends in ashes, it's the puppet being burnt to a crisp. There's nothing mystical, magical, or supernatural about what you're seeing.
It's a spirit
I am an African, a True West African. Truth is there is Human inside but they are Diviners who can only access this and they use to Surmon The Spirits of the Gods. And accept it or not, its only we Black Africans who know the connection and the secret way to the Gods Period.

Because it puts us to the other side without protection, it is common knowledge in crack culture black people are far more violent when hey take crack.
My ex girlfriend even said when black guys take crack they see spiders and run from them, I tried crack with my white friend, he had a big bad dog it is one of those dangerous types, my friend took the crack, I waited a good 10 mins for my turn i was in no rush.
When i took mine i could feel somthing came in the room, what ever it was it was giving of bad vibes you know you was in danger, the dog already sensed it and got angry and showed it's teeth.

Its sooo strange, how 2 countries India and Africa shares similar rituals... In some parts of india, it is belived in the guardian of village and has to be summoned during every festival in temple.
Wow...
This concept exists in every culture of the world .
@@bobfaam5215 Nope in English culture.
@pragyahalankar7990
India & Africa are more "similar in rituals" than you think: They shared the same Knowledge & Understanding of the 'Structure of Reality'.
Only, it is in India alone that this 'Knowledge & Understanding' are preserved in a form that is more than 'mere crumbs'.
India has the living Yoga & Yagya to develop and demonstrate this full Knowledge.
@@bobfaam5215
And you know your so-called "every culture"? How?
Your uninformed mindset helps to explain how the ignorance of the IMAGINED religious rubbish (chrisitianity, islam) has come to dominate in your society: You learn superficially of other people's cultural practices; and you assume, FALSELY, that what you IMAGINED of what you 'learn' is identical of that which you imagined.
And so, your imagined "God" is substituted for the Reality that you 'learn' (inadequately) from the cultural practices of others.
There is NO WAY that 'The Structure of Reality' has been know to your "every culture of the world": There is no evidence in support of your arrogant and brazen claim for "every culture of the world". lol
@@nirbija No because the shaman in Africa have understanding not crumbs, but unlike Indians they know it must be kept secret.
The mass populations are not meant to know, that is why not every is supposed to be a shaman.

Great performer and suitable costume material
😂😂😂😂😂😂
That’s not a costume that’s an actual spirit let me give you a a thing a lesson in spirituality 101 for a spirit to manifest itself in bodily form. You have to give it a house every person on this planet is a spirit they have a house it’s called the human body, so what these people are doing is they’re creating a house for the spirits to manifest themselves into move.
May be theres some one inside of kumpos, but as many other ritual expressions, ppl who perform such rituals let themselves been possessed by spirits amd those are who make the dances at the end ....
Dont know much about it, but it is impressive
Spirits don't exist. They're just people having fun, putting on an entertaining dance for the whole village. There's nothing magical, mystical, or supernatural about any of it.
I can't comprehend this!
With due respect and admiration to African Culture, this is human assisted performance.
Its not. They're demons
1:09 you can see an African man’s leg sticking out. I believe in demons and angels but they’re not stupid enough to show themselves on camera.
I've seen enough slight of hand tricks that are very advanced. But when shown how they are done, you'll wanna smack yourself over the head for not being able to figure it out.

Yes spirits, that is the logical explanation. Because there is no other explanation. Magic is done with the help of spirits as well. There is no trick.
How does it hold the stick and the seat? You still haven't proved wht is inside. There are things in this world you cannot explain. You still cannot explain the ouigi board and the hauntings as a result of opening doors doors better left closed. Yet you have seen the videos showing the things being slammed across the room.

Is this ghost dance?
1:03 the fact it jumped on a chair
This is a fascinating dance. To believe that there is not an athlete in there is absurd and insulting to the audience and to the dancers.
This is their tradition and to say it’s something that it’s something other than what they say it is is the actual insult
@@WalkinLove79 Nah. It's obvious.
Even the Africans believe their spirits in there, so how is that insulting?
So in essence, they’re honoring nature spirits why is this so interesting that other cultures do this as well it must’ve come from one place because Africans do it the Egyptian’s did it the Japanese do it the Chinese do it the Koreans do it
Honoring nature spirits evolved as a means to practice balance and harmony with nature. If you need to take from nature, you cannot take everything, or else nature will not replenish herself. By paying respect to nature spirits, humans found a way to respect nature, leaving her in tact in honor, while only taking what they need.
Pls edit : add : the Indians do it.
Yes, some communities in India had a dance ritual for invoking spirits. They danced for hours.
Only heard of them, not seen.
The "superstition" tag has done the damage.
This modern education is destroying more things than it is creating.

"Protection" is the word given by this script writer.
Let me try.
Kumpo is a spirit but it needs a physical body (like possession) to manifest itself, because it lacks the grossest 2 of the 5 elements, Earth and water, hence lack a physical body.

@@Magnus5757 But what spirit dwells within those people. I know the answer.
There’s no human in there oh, I’ve said this four times in the comments let me give you spirituality 101 God is called the father of spirits. These are fallen angels demonstrating themselves to these people or evil spirits, pretending to be good because spirits are like black church. They love their praise and worship, they want people to worship them other than worshiping God so they will promise people things so they can venerate them. Honor them worship them, so this whole guy is trying to produce an idea that all of it is fake because he can’t wrap his head around spirits and entities spirits have been here long before we have, any of these people have been doing this for thousands of years this dispirits run this village they have complete authority to do whatever they want because there’s invoke them invite invited them in number two every spirit has either had or has to have a body to operate on this planet what they’re doing with these haystacks is there giving the spirits a body to operate in
