- This calculus video tutorial explains how to evaluate limits from a graph. It explains how to evaluate one sided limits as well as how to evaluate the function using graphs. The graphs include points of discontinuity such as holes, jump discontinuities and infinite discontinuities such as vertical asymptotes. Horizontal asymptotes are included as well. On the fourth example, since it has a closed circle, wouldn't that mean there is no limits? since the definition of a limit is x is going toward's a number that it can never actually get to so since there is a definitive point, it means that it does in fact get to that point, so in turn, there is no limit. I may be painfully wrong, please correct me if so.

When there was vertical aesemptote at 8:58, you said that the limit is positive infinity and not 4 (the x point where aesemptote is at). Then why did you take the limit as - 4 at 11:13 in case of horizontal aesemptote?
