Well, Kamal was written off even from films after a succession of flops. His political opponents took jibes on him and alleged that his political foray was only influenced by his sagging film career. Kamal hassan used to be gifted actor of our time. he is surely one of the best even today but what a failed politician, any way we didnt expect him to be different, but were shocked to see his hatred for some people or one religion in particular. he showed his prejudices to the core. while he was free to make movies like vishwaroopam where in the story revolved around a terrorism in afganistan, there were war cry which was protested by some section, he even threatened to leave the country but look at him saying that he hates propaganda movies like kerala stories. why this duplicity aap kare tho expression of freedom and if done by other its propaganda! wow

North India has a very big problem for over 75 years now. It is unwilling to learn English,let alone a South Indian language, or even Bengali. In Delhi and the Hindi speaking belt, there is no interest at all in learning a South Indian language or enjoying South Indian food and culture. The Delhi elite ape America and Britain. People speak either Hindi or Punjabi. The North Indian teen in the train said to me when he went on a south india tour(in hindi)-'my weight went down eating dosa and idli'(such intolerance). North Indians say 'South indians are dark skinned'(they are very racist). In complete contrast, South Indians living in North India adapt. They speak their own language,and English, practice and preserve their own family customs and cultural identity, but also learn and speak Hindi well,and watch Bollywood movies(along with movies in their own language), They enjoy North Indian food,including Punjabi,and their own food-idli,dosa,and upma-both. They are open to learning. It is no wonder then that Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are fast outpacing the rest of India in economic growth. Democracy and secularism is appreciated in the South. The North is dominated by RSS and Modi's thugs, and Hindu fundamentalist to the bone-intolerant to non-hindus,self-absorbed and self-obsessed, and ignorant. People in north india are frogs in a small hindu fundamentalist pond. If they were not they would have rejected Modi and the RSS very long ago.

Kamal Hassan needs to sharpen his political message. He was all over the place. He hit the nail on the head when he said religion(church, temple, mosque, and gurdwara alike) should be separate from state. A tamil nadu-and south indian chief minister's, and government's job is to govern competently, and address the many problems. A leader has to be charismatic as well. Modi's and the BJP's hindu fundamentalist message and divisiveness should be rejected. The south should enjoy a fair share of power at the centre. South Indian languages-tamil, telugu,kannada and malayalam must be taught in every school, and the communities must be able to preserve their cultural identity and language. English must be the first or second language in schools, not Hindi. It is not fair for south indian schools to teach hindi when north indian schools do not require teaching at least one language other than Hindi. The North's view that all Indians,south Indians in particular, should speak Hindi and the Modi/RSS/BJP view of India as a country united by Hinduism should be completely rejected and secularism promoted.
