Wow it's so amazing how you can play those very high notes as pianissimo without getting the undertones. It's one of the hardest things to do for me when I'm playing the clarinet
You are a terrific musician. I especially appreciate your sensitive playing in the 3rd movement. You have lots of flash! Great stage presence and beautiful playing throughout. Thanks for posting this! I listen to it all of the time!
One of the few job, if any, convincing performances of the 3rd movement that I've heard! Excellent work! The 4th movement was pretty fantastic too...haha
It's really good to see you mature more musically in each video you post! :) I have watched the entire Saint-Saens Sonata and you played it very well. Just a bit of my opinion, though: I would have liked the first and third movements if they were slower. slowness leaves room for more expression. But overall, excellent performance.
hey, showed this to one of my professors at julliard, and he thinks you're quite talented. he told me that you should tryout an audition in the future at the school, but said work on not raising your fingers too high when playing. good luck dude.
AMAZING!!!! Except at 5:33 he squeaks.BUT AMAZING! I'm the same age he is so spectacular. I'm JEALOUS of his skills. >XD I like the part at 4:00. NICE JOB!!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
@zihansu Seriously you would point out the ONLY time he messed up and it was a little squeak. He is still a monster so why don't you commend him for the rest of his performance.
I love you so much! This is amazing!!! Just out of curiosity though, did you start crying at the end of the 3rd mvt? I love how passionate this performance is!
I know a lot of professinals who do that as well. I haven't got any problems with him moving as much as he does, and I'm not saying he's an amateur. You can move as much as you want to when playing, either sat or standing, because you express the music. I was trying to say is that people who don't express music in any way are amateurs because it basically suggests that they don't care about what they play.
Musicians don't tend to move as much when sat down. They are not as free to express their felings towards the music as much, but they still do. This seperates an mateur musician from a professional.
I know plenty of professionals who play just as well as Han Kim does, or better, without moving as much as he does, so what's your point? Are you calling these people amateurs? By the likes of them, I believe they move as much when sat down as well because they're not too busy dancing like your "professionals" while standing.
And wut happens when he has to sit down in an orchestra. Is he gonna sway like that with people not even an arms length away? "Oh sorry i hit you, im just feeling the music."
it's called getting into the music. he's not only playing it, he's feeling it.

This took my breath away. The return of the first movement theme was magic.
Among all Kim's interpretations, this one is the best in my opinion.

Holy poo! I just played this for my Jury piece in my sophomore year at university, and I didn't play it this well, geez. Seriously, that was amazing.

Point taken. I guess that's just how they express their music. You have my compliance and respect.
I have to play that the first second and fourth movement, especially the @ 4:02 to get to a honor band thing. Working hard for it
Il 3 movt. É perfetto FANTASTICO!!! Il 4movt. Non è da meno comunque! 3

@ancil11 Little squeak here and there just tells me he is human. You know things can also be TOO perfect.
Thank you :) Apologies for not saying it clearl the first time.
