Just purchased my first Beovox CX50’s, just wondering why people re-foam these when they’re from the 80’s rather than replacing the whole driver with a modern replacement? Thanks
Quite simply because the cabinet is made especially for these units, there are some of the old CX which were initially called C75, if you can find such a set they are far better than the new ones here, they are made with rubber suspension and can be recognized by that one bass is gray and the other is a little green in color, tweeter is also another, it was an audax unit which was changed to a seas and finally a philips.
What glue are you using here? I've come into possession of a pair of crusty CX75s and would like to get them up and running
