I was fixing Christmas lights on the tree last night, when I popped on the Canadian Christmas playlist on Spotify. O Holy Night comes on, and my work came to a halt. Thought I was listening to a newly discovered Leonard Cohen recording till I grabbed my phone and checked the artist. Ben Caplan - This has been one of my favourite Christmas carols that I did not think I could love any more. You have proven me wrong. This re-imagined version is nothing short of perfection to me. Thank you for this musical gift... and that bass clarinet... liquid gold. Merry Christmas from a new fan from Fredericton!

Hello Ben, I fell in love with your art when I listened to Plough the shit, and I was a true fan when I listened to O Holy Night. Stranger was the intermediate. I feel that the pieces based around morality are your best and at the least are the most impactful to me on a very personal level. Thank you regardless.
I've listened to this at least a dozen times now, and goosebumps - every single time. It's like being in the middle of a gorgeous maelstrom of sound, and all you can do is close your eyes and let it wash over you.
And MASSIVE props to the musicians, especially the folks on strings. That crazy run they did starting at 3:05 made my jaw drop.
Leave it to Ben to turn a song I've never quite enjoyed into an absolute delight! Thanks for staying so elegantly musical throughout all these years!

We thank you for your mitzvah, we're still hoping that you'll come to Saskatoon and do some Harry Chapin and Billy Joel covers, so we'll pray for you to keep you safe.
