I always felt like characters like Thor and Thanatos(MVC2) had the tools to compete, just required a lot of technicality from the player end.
Manhwa Fan The majority of characters in UMvC3 are viable but I don't think even the best Thanatos in the world can compete with the Sentinel in Marvel2.

Abegen is one of my favourites.
Check out his much older fight against Noel Brown. Noel says the fight will be "free" which means he will take a 3-0 set....
Then watch to his fight against KBR. KBR leads the set 2-0 and the stream is in favour for KBR...
Then watch his fight against DatVIP.
He also placed 2nd in this Australian tournament.
The reason why I suggest that order is because you can see his progression of skill. He has newer combos, he drops less combos and has even better team synergy.
Abegen is such a good sport. He smiles and always thanks his opponent...even if he wins 3-2 or loses 0-3. He always has fun and is never sour like Fchamp or ChrisG.
I spoke with KBR on his stream and he also says that Abegen is a great guy.
There was one Evo, back before ultimate, where a Tron managed to take off a win off a Phoenix user by using the Lvl 3 grab super.
It was so hype that the audio from the microphone got drowned out in the hype screams.
His combos and setups with that team are so perfect.

Not to be a troll but...its the same four moves over and over and over....
"Regular" MMHS launcher combo, Mighty Spark loops, Mighty Smash OTG to charge double Mighty Strike afterwards, every Mighty Hurricane is basically hype, it's Thor so it's 100x more entertaining to watch than Generic Anchor Vergil#3582 and showing off the unconventional potential of Thor's combo game I think makes for a very nice video.
