Thank you for your insights Todd. I have been searching for answers to lifes purpose pretty much all my life. I finally discovered the benefits of meditation and started to form my own opinions about truly finding inner peace. After listening to your thoughts on spiritually, nature and oneness I know i am now on the right path to living a more peaceful, grateful, loving and positive life.
Please keep sharing your messages as there are way too many people on this planet who need to discover the ultimate benefits of inner peace and mindfulness.

You have a very positive take on religion in this episode. As I have gotten to know hundreds and thousends of religious people, coming from a fundamentalist christian childhood, having worked as a pastor, I know that most of religion has very little to do with spirituality and in fact does the opposite: it blocks the way to truly find your source of being. It does so because it tends to keep people in mental prisons of religious forms. Spirituality on the other hand is free of forms and thus reaches the heart of the center directly. No need of forms and rituals. Spiritual abuse is a big thing in religion (most people talk about sexual abuse and religious wars - these are horrible but on a wide scale are not the main issue). It took me 40 years to finally break out my mental prison and find my spiritual source. Many others are still trapped. So for me I do not see any benefit of religion being a doorway or crutch. The differences are just too big.

I’m dealing with tremendous grief after my wife of 30 years passed away just two months ago and your videos have been helping a bit Todd. I too have been agnostic at times and aetheist at others. I’m having struggles with the idea of an afterlife or spirit life after death.
Searching for an answer that may never come I guess. Maybe not until I shuffle off this mortal coil I suppose ? One thing for sure is that grief and grieving is extremely difficult. It comes and goes in waves but sometimes those waves are more like tsunamis. The woman I loved for so long and became her sole caregiver for the last 3 years is just gone in an instant. It’s hard to fathom though I know others have experienced the same or even worse but it still doesn’t make it any easier.

Sorry to hear this. My sympathies are with you. Yes, grief can be daunting. The most you can do is be good to yourself.

To me, religion involves dogma, rules, and regulations that are man-made, mostly for control over the believers. It can be a foundation, but it should not be the end all to solving all problems. Some people use religion as a crutch. When they are consumed by fear, they need something to lean on, thus their constrictive default becomes religion. That's my opinion at this time.

Religion makes you think you can work your way to God's grace and that's false. God's grace is free. He has unconditional love and his mercy is new every morning!

Spirituality can be whatever you want it to be. Religion requires logic and systematic thought. Spirituality requires nothing of people. It’s basically selfishness.
