Real Wedding Behind the Scenes at Lost Mission (venue from Peter Mckinnon photography fail video)

- Come with us behind the scenes on a real wedding out at Lost Mission in Spring Branch, Texas. You may recognize the wedding venue from Peter McKinnon’s photography fails video. This is a FULL day wedding photography behind the scenes video. From getting ready to just be fore the reception. We are using the Sony A7iii to photography and take video of this behind the scenes wedding. Hopefully in this video you will pick up some wedding photography techniques that will help you along your way to becoming a progressional photographer.
We really enjoyed doing this behind the scenes wedding video. It was a first for us. We learned a lot about making behind the scenes videos and what kind of things we want to do moving forward. This video is made for the new photographer getting into wedding photography. Maybe you have shoot a few weddings as a second shooter or maybe you are just starting out and just got a camera. Whatever the case may be, there is a ton of insight in this video that would be helpful to someone starting out. Who knows maybe even some seasoned professional will be able to take something away.
We start off taking you behind the scenes during the getting ready with the bride and her bridesmaids. You will be able to find a few tips and pointers in this section. While many getting ready rooms are different there are some similarities in the way you approach a room and the getting ready portion of a wedding day.
After the getting ready we take you to the actual ceremony itself. You might recognize this part ceremony location from Peter Mckinnon’s Photography Fails video. We swear that wasn’t us! 😂 This is a pretty difficult ceremony location being that there is only one center and no side isle. Make sure you watch to see how this is handled, especially with two photographers. And we don’t handle it the way the photographer in Peter McKinnon video did.
Then we go behind the scenes and cover some of the posed family portraits. We don’t touch to much on this because we plan to do a separate video just on this.
The final part to this behind the scenes wedding photography video shows the bride and groom portraits. These are done on the way to the reception location. Since this entire wedding take place at Lost Mission in Spring Branch, Texas, the bride and grooms pictures were taken there.

Expose The Heart is a photography studio in San Antonio, Texas owned by husband and wife team David and Irene. We specialize in wedding photography, but also shoot commercial, portrait, newborn, maternity, senior, and fine art work.
We met in 2001 in San Antonio and have been stuck together ever since. Many of our first dates were "photography dates". As our love grew, we moved in together and got married. Oh we don't think it was a fail. It's just that this wedding venue was in a popular photography fail video a while back. We are actually pretty proud how the video turned out.

Very neat to hear how you approach a wedding photo shoot. Sounds like you put in a lot of extra work beyond just taking pictures. Very neat shot of them tying the ribbons onto the bouquet. Very pretty church, but I can see how this would be difficult to get good shots during the ceremony. You sound very efficient and love all the tips you mentioned.

I like this one ..... I'm learning alot today. Along with the great photography your TH-cam videos are pretty good as well... You mention texas in the video, I grew up in Arlington texas and spent alot of time in Dallas.... Hopefully I can get some photography work out there when I move back.
