Nice work but I want to say this: The wood was wet when it shrinks it will tear and fail. Unless you want it ripped!!! Happy New Year from Stuttgart!!!
5:09 "about 4 months later". Looked like he used sealer on the knot to protect the weak brittle point and allow it to slow cure as needed. He's fine.
Very nice! Definitely monster size. Did you use a wood sealer? For some reason in the video the finish looks blotchy. Really liked the free hand use of the bandsaw. Well done! 😊
Thank you! Yeah had to use sanding sealer part way through to help mitigate cracks
How much did it end up weighing? Just wondering.
I turned it pretty thin so it was actually pretty light in weight
