Its so unfortunate that the quality is subpar. I appreciate the pricepoint so i hope the second edition does it justice. Or if they release premium components online
It does seem kinda odd that with all the hype Dice Tower built up on this game that their partners Arcane Wonders would allow the quality to be this even if it’s released mass market. Saving money on cheaper materials is one thing but the miss cut cards?
@axétério apparently the production was done by Spin Master. It definitely is not a great look. I've had multiple people play our copy at game night and let us know they are holding off for a 2nd printing.
I'm super excited for this one! My local Barnes & Noble didn't have any copies in when I checked, but they ordered one for me. I've read a few complaints online from people saying the components were cheap; I'm guessing they meant the punch out tokens that you said seemed a little flimsy. Do they look like they would fit inside plastic coin capsules? That might be a way to make them feel a little nicer.
@gurnblanston2848 Yeah, those will definitely go into coin capsules. They are essentially thick cardstock. I recently opened the Fallout Factions game and those tokens are more than a 1/4 inch thick. These might be the thinest tokens I've seen in a long time.
Yeah, it is a little wild that the rulebook is overproduced, and the cardboard chips are pretty much thick paper. Thankfully, I'm really excited for the gameplay.
We got the game a few days ago, yes the quality is not great, but the gameplay is awesome and it's cheap enough that I haven't minded working on upgrades. Sleeved the cards and loking into token caps from hobby store to cover the cardboard chits. 👍
@angelab8230 yes. The price point and gameplay has definitely taken the sting out of it. We're not sleeving the cards because we'll end up having to replace them one day. Spin Master has said they cannot replace the cards because they don't have any available. They just offer a couple other random games instead.

The price point was low enough that we didn't mind buying deluxe components from Etsy.

I am so pumped to see an unboxing of this! I can't wait to get this game (even though the production quality is somewhat disappointing).

Great original production but this one is seems shit
We ended up getting custom upgrades from Etsy to bring some quality components to the game.
