Just purchased the solar vent! Also purchased composite steel framing kit, container door kits as well as rodent plugs. Excited to install in spring and spray foam in summer. I expect to surface mount electric as well like you said and I agree. I will provide video of install on my youtube channel to keep you updated.
The most weatherproof way to get wires in and out might be a snorkel. Seeing them on more commercial boats I work on to get wires up onto the roof / antenna stands. An electrical weather head might serve this function for temporary wiring. If it's up high, it may deter sabotage as well.
I hope you find the vandal and make em pay one way or another. I've been toying with the idea of slapping solar powered computer fans on the old vents. But your fan module looks interesting.
At 2:49 in video. There is wire at the top of the wall. Are those wires going throught a pipe? When wire and/or poly pipe going throught metal wall; are there a grommet or other protecting it (from movement like on the road)?
I'm not sure how that was finished. It's an OLD photo. That was an R&D project so they may have been temporarily tossed through the wall to test the 12v panel / inverter on that job then finished up later. The cable gland pass through frame with the rubber grommet is an ideal choice for temporarily passing low voltage through the wall. You are correct though - Permanent solutions should have a PVC conduit or nipple to not strain / cut the wires during movement. We typically try and go out the back of the panel directly into an outside weatherproof splitter box.
As a suggestion, a lot of contractor friends of mine are installing solar powered cell cameras in trees or on poles to monitor their job sites and trailers.
I have been using wildlife cameras for the same purpose on my farm, due to thieves and vandals. Most proved to be teens, being ignorant or looking for a place to get drunk and stoned. Sadly calling police proved useless, as it took them over an hour to show up, if they showed up at all. And they have never arrested anyone from the pictures off of the cameras to my knowledge. I am currently looking for a more proactive security solution.
Dont forget kids, be sure to paint these containers BLUE. As weve seen, metal aint 100% fireproof. I agree, ive never seen cars burnt to liquid before, but its been shown in la, chile, maui and more.. metal melts! Paint em blue boys! I would. Your welcome
Only 20 Solar Vents available to start with: containermodificationworld.com/bigair-57-cfm-solar-vent
The solar vent is Savage idea!
I've had all the parts in stock since 2021 🤦🤦

That's a cool idea for the container doors. Know what brands?
