Bro this is what they won’t tell you. If you are a mental health nurse your best bet is either UK OR CANADA. If your CEs report indicates that your license and training is incomparable what that means is you don’t meat the criteria for visa screening and might not be able to get your green card. It’s a different situation when you are already in the USA. I am careful with this topic because I’ve heard some community nurses who have been visa screened by Cgfns and had their PR’s.

Whiles laws may vary from state to state they are all often umbrella in a single federal law. That’s why you can successfully go through the nclex as mental nurse but might find it hard to get past immigration cos the federal laws are different

The board solely determines if you have to write nclex or not. You can be having a “bad” CES report advising the board that your degree and license is incomparable but the board may still go ahead to grant you the ATT for the nclex. The problem for mental health nurses is whether Cgfns will deem the mental health license comparable to the USA in the visa screening application cos that’s an area they will have to check to be eligible for the certification.

I RECKON SO. JSA HAVE PRINTED IT BOLDY ON THEIR SITE THAT MENTAL HEALTH NURSES AND MIDWIFES WILL NOT RECEIVE THE CERTIFICATE.
