It all starts with a mystic woman dressed in black, slowly striding through long corridors: Tarja. Cut. Then, a painter, a dancer and an oboe player are shown in a dusty, old factory. All caged in their dull habits, their daily tasks, repeating their monotone movements over and over again -- all victims of their rituals.
Tarja is coming to their rescue. With a hint of a smile and powerful colours, she is able to free them and brings out the best in each of them. It all could have ended here, wasn't it for the dark, suspicious figures. They have been following Tarja the whole time, watching her every move and then, chase her, try to get her down. Will they succeed or will Tarja win the epic final battle?
Answers to this question can be found in the official video for Tarja's first single "Victim Of Ritual" from her forthcoming album "Colours In The Dark". Shot in Berlin by Florian Kaltenbach for Hunger Film, the video resembles a short film with its running time of 6 minutes.
It is exclusively available for preorder on iTunes: bit.ly/16isUeN.
"Victim Of Ritual" will be released as download, CD single and 7" vinyl on July 12th, 2013 via earMUSIC. Both physical releases will surely become rare collector's items, being made available in strictly limited quantities. The 4-songs digipak CD-single is limited to 3.000 copies worldwide, whereas the 2-track 7" vinyl is limited to only 1.500 units worldwide.
Tarja's forthcoming new album "Colours In The Dark" will be released on August 30th, 2013 via earMUSIC. Mixed by Tim Palmer (Pearl Jam, U2) in Austin, Texas, the album is definitely going to be one of the brightest moments for rock in 2013.
Tarja will perform the songs from "Colours In The Road Tour" starting with her forthcoming tour.

+Demon Dog I agree. I think some people say that because they were expecting that she would either start doing classical or do something similar to Nightwish. Nope. She goes into rock and just starts experimenting. And it's fun to listen to. No, she's not exactly breaking any new ground, but who cares? It's good to hear her sing.
+TheRisky9 I mean, a lot of her stuff sounds symphonic metal-y, like VOR, which I LOVE. I think this song and Damned and Divine are my favorite Tarja songs. This is a perfect combination of metal and real classical music. It's still similar to Nightwish, but with a special Tarja touch. It definitely doesn't sound like Tuomas, that's for sure!

Ravel's Bolero given a new breath of life. Not that it was dead. Putting Tarja aside, there is some superb instrumentation here. Wonderful guitar work and superb percussion from Mike Terrana. Tarja at her best. There is a stunning live version of this on Luna park Ride. Maybe this is one of those numbers that is best live. Its just magic. Very moreish. Colours in the Dark is a wonderful CD.

I love Tarja - went to her concert in Berlin 2013. Listen to these boys too - they are immortal - listen to the sound - they gave concerts even before Tarja was born (Uriah Heep - songs like July Morning or Pilgrim)
We all know that Tarja is an outstanding singer and an excellent musician. She is 37 years old now and she looks like she can pass for someone in their 20s. What exercises does she do to keep herself looking so young? In 15 cm heels live on stage, she jumps, hops, skips, and jogs in these heels like it is nothing and can sing while doing this without losing her breath.
