- Every year we go noodling in Illinois with some good friends of ours. Usually they come down and come chase hogs with us. This year, they decided to come grab some fish with us since they don’t have many blue cats up where they’re from. Well they got to all get there first blue cats this trip! Gavin even got bit on the foot!

It's so cool that they are true conservationist, they aren't keeping every fish they catch. If it's a female and about to lay , they put em back.
If it's a flat head they talk about wether to keep for the pan or not because every fish is important to the Barron's.
I never knew they tagged the fish either, I haven't heard why they do this yet but I'm sure it's part of being a good sportsman's and keeping track of their states resources.
These guys really seem like models for others to follow. So ridiculous they have to constantly defend themselves on social media when they are stewards of the Alabama game and fish and people should be proud.
@@rowdybroomstick1216 they tag or mark them to see if they ever catch the same fish again.

Something ive never done before even though i live in the South. Ive caught and eaten catfish my whole life but never had this experience, especially with good folks like Jeff. Big thumbs up guys

I went to Arlington National Cemetery, today. I too hate it when people who haven’t been taught Honor and Respect say Happy Memorial Day. FYI - I didn’t see one family member or friend honoring their deceased loved one having a ‘Happy’ day. Not all people are ignorant . . . they’ve just never been taught that there is more to to the day other than beer and a bbq.

I'm quite impressed you pronounced Illinois correctly. A lot of people that come to my work from out of state usually mispronounce it. Now I screw around with them and holler: "Welcome to Illi-NOISE."

I’ve been fishing the same blue cat bed since I was 3 with my dad and papaw. 40 to 70lbs is common to pull up but I love catching them on a rod it’s a fight then we can clip the scales on and wrestle them onto the boat. Nice blues boys great video

Nice, we do a lot of noodling down here in Oklahoma too! We usually hold the catfish noodling fest over here a town over in Pauls Valley, sadly not this year due to Covid

I just love how Hannah gets so tickled that she giggles and laughs at the thought of when she's actually getting bit by a catfish and even when she sees the same happening to others?
She really gets a thrill out of it! Why is is so much fun and so funny, girl? I'd think that the pain would be a deal breaker for most? Must not hurt all that bad or she wouldn't find it so amusing and so much fun? Is it like sticking your arm into a giant milking machine or what? Or is it cute? What? I'm not raggin' or dissin', oh no no! I'd never do that to Miss Hannah or Jeff! I think the world of both of them two!
I'm just trying to understand better is all? Maybe I need to get my old ass out there and try it sometime for myself? Probably the best way to understand? I love catching fish with a pole or a spear, but never have noodled before. I do want to take up bowfishing sometime, perhaps after I retire and hopefully I'm still in good enough shape then?

I'm from southern Illinois we got plenty blues but we noodle in the little wabash wabash and Ohio rivers

Sucks we don’t do this in Canada looks like a heck of a good time. A lot of big Chanel cats in Winnipeg but they are usually line caught. Would love to give this a go.
