These videos never cease to amaze me and of the skills of the team doing the set up....I remember as a young teenager in Scotland the annual funfair arriving and was always impressed with the way they would put the rides together all for a three day stay, the trucks with massive generators fixed to them and the Romany style four wheeled caravans that were absolutely gorgeous being towed behind trucks, they even had buses converted to chippies.....They were the most friendly of people and would show me how everything worked and were mainly made by themselves, great skills.....I have been fascinated by things like that ever since and I am now in my 70's...great respect to the travelling show community.......Loves your videos, thank you......
Awesome vlog Steve can't believe the speed they put it up not alone all that one 1 truck 👍🏼 👏 don't get lost or squashed and keep safe and speak more soon 🙌 👍🏼
Went there for firework show was a good show. It was hassle getting there with public transport lol. My favourite ride is the waltzer their are so fast it's crazy! I tried the ghost train I liked it but it seems to still have trouble with the lighting as you can see the stuff before they jump out on you. I hope that new ghost train will be done before the fair opens up in 2023. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully the rest of the rides will come in the first half of 2023 that he has bought. Poor henry and the team wait adges for their rides to be deliverd lol. Loved barry island this year. Next year will be even better.
Hi Mr "D" geat build up video what a awsome set of dodgems i love the artwork on it such a stunning ride i canot believe how quicly it was set up we needed a new dodgem track now that the permanant one is used as a ice rink like i said great video i do hope you do mor awsome build up videos
Mr Dudgie, as you say, that is mind blowing. Just to think that the whole thing came in on one truck, incredible. But what really is the amazing thing is the people who designed it all. How do you even start making a ride this big that folds up like an IKEA flat pack wardrobe. Great Vid as always mate.
Fantastic to see, always wondered how they fitted on one truck these days. So easy for todays guys to build not like the old days. But then fairgrounds where magical where your a kid. The smells and sounds the Big Trucks and wonderful truck sized caravans and Generators, loved it all. Great Video thanks :)
It's incredible how these rides have become so much more compact and easier to assemble. Not too many years ago, something like the dodgems would have turned up on more than one lorry and a bigger crew. Great video to watch.
Really looking forward to coming down with friends and family for the winter wonderland. Hope it will be very festive with trees and decs everywhere. Great videos again Mr D and very interesting to watch the fair builds
Also, the chain helps with the alignment when they put the axles back under it. Raise it enough to connect the chain to it. Raise it so that the axle is hanging. Spin it back around and the axles will already be in place for you to lower the trailer
wow Mr D looking at the size of this dodgem area you would not think that was all just packed up like an ordinary articulated lorry to look at if you didn't see this been put up you wouldn't believe it if someone just told you how it looked before it was all put up, i for one did not think it was like that i'm amazed and stunned by the sheer size of it, thx for filming and sharing it otherwise i wouldn't have believed it had you just explained it and i bet others would be thinking the same
When I worked on the fairground in the late 50s / 60s we used to break the rides down for travel at the end of the season and it was very tough going and hard work with brute force Never would have thought that it would all become so sophisticated as these tear down and set up videos that you’re showing all the time Great job you And thanks again
I traveled with funtastic for 12 years it's alway's fun to make people have a good time but what a lot of people dont notice is during teardowns when you get tired it's not hard to temp forget what ride ur working on and try tearing down a different ride on accident.
You never think of what happens behind the scenes at a funfair, you go and enjoy the rides Really intresting video MrD, thanks for being our man on the ground 👌
Can i just say Mr.D, you've become very cinematic as of late and the depth it's giving these build videos especially is immense! Keep up the good work and i hope you and anyone else reading this has an amazing week!
Superb coverage of the build up and a great insight for people who are not sure how these sets of Dodgems build up. Beats the old sets of Dodgems hand balling everything 👍🏻
Editing Suggestion: When recording rides u could perhaps rewind the clip and play it again and also I recommend u do a ride in motion montage I would rly like to a montage
Every ride is quicker to pull down than build up. Takes longer to level a machine building up then it does to pick up blocks/jack's on a pull down 🤷🏻♂️
That’s a fitting honour to Sir Billy Butlin too! One of my favourite rides. A pleasure to watch.
I certainly it Neil Mate, glad you enjoyed it 😀👍
its really fascinating all that out of one lorry it still looks magical
Wot a video steve , brilliant that's wot I used to do over where your house is built now brilliant keep up your videos steve
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it 😃👍
Welldone guys don't get lost or squashed keep up the good work
Thanks Dave Mate 😎👍

Brilliant vlog thank you 😊
Awesome vlog Steve can't believe the speed they put it up not alone all that one 1 truck 👍🏼 👏 don't get lost or squashed and keep safe and speak more soon 🙌 👍🏼
It's insane Jerry Mate, a very clever design. Very different to the old days I'm sure. Hope you're having a great weekend 👋😃
Nice 😊😊
Really cool that I wish it was that easy when I worked on the Dodgems many years ago build up pull down was hard work
It's insane mate, it's taken most of the hard work out of the build & so much quicker 😃👍
Thanks for the video awesome .The Dodgems looks awesome in the dark also cheers Steve.Hope there will be more rides coming soon 👍👍
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it 😃👍

Hiya Susan, thank you so glad you enjoyed it. Henry has ordered one very similar & it'll arrive in the new year 👋😁
To be fair that was amazing thinking all that was one trailer really enjoyed it

Thanks a lot mate, yeah Hat of to the designers, makes life so much easier & quicker 👏😃
I think I saw Henry Danter today, at his shop in Monmouth. They've been getting it ready to open up as a games arcade.

My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it 👋😀
Welldone guys finally a notification shame about the fireworks vlog live tho
I don't know what was going with the TH-cam notification mate, it's annoying 🤔
a lot easier to set up now than it was in the 70's. not one chain block in site to lift the cars up into the truck. great video thanks for sharing
Unreal like you said Steve all that in one trailer good to watch cheers mate
It's insane mate, glad you enjoyed it 😎👍
Amazing vlog Steve thanks again mate
Thanks mate 🙌
Definitely faster then the older dodgems
It's incredible how these rides have become so much more compact and easier to assemble. Not too many years ago, something like the dodgems would have turned up on more than one lorry and a bigger crew.
Great video to watch.
Still do over here in Canada.
Really looking forward to coming down with friends and family for the winter wonderland. Hope it will be very festive with trees and decs everywhere.
Great videos again Mr D and very interesting to watch the fair builds
Henry has big plans for The Winter Wonderland mate, watch this space 🎅🎄
Glad you're enjoying the Vlogs 😀👍

It's All very impressive 😃👍
Simply insane
I find it mad how all that fits on a lorry lol
It's insane haha 😂👍
Must be nice having a park close by that is always changing the lineup.
Yeah it's great to see new rides come & go, keeps it fresh 😎👍
Awesome
Aww thanks 👋😁
I've worked with a carnival here in the USA but that's amazing how quickly and easily that went up.
These modern rides are alot easier than the old school rides for sure, thanks for watching 😎👍
wow Mr D looking at the size of this dodgem area you would not think that was all just packed up like an ordinary articulated lorry to look at if you didn't see this been put up you wouldn't believe it if someone just told you how it looked before it was all put up, i for one did not think it was like that i'm amazed and stunned by the sheer size of it, thx for filming and sharing it otherwise i wouldn't have believed it had you just explained it and i bet others would be thinking the same
Is insane mate, glad you enjoyed it 😎👍
Good to see these vlogs of build ups and to see Danters Dodgems getting built there Steve - nice 1 mate 👍🏼
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it 😃👍

Great job you
And thanks again
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it, it's a lot different with these modern rides, it's taken a lot of the graft out of it for sure & so much quicker 😃👍
You need to go to the Netherlands and watch how they do a build and teardown of a fun fair.
That would be awesome 😎👍
i might be down to the winderwonderland when it opens :) loving the content
Thanks a lot, hope you get to visit 🎅👍
Amazing to see the ride being assembled. Really good vlog as usually Mr D. Keep it up 👌👌
Thanks a lot Taff Mate, glad you enjoyed it 👊😀
Insane !!!
I traveled with funtastic for 12 years it's alway's fun to make people have a good time but what a lot of people dont notice is during teardowns when you get tired it's not hard to temp forget what ride ur working on and try tearing down a different ride on accident.
It's definitely not easy & very long days 👍
More videos like these please when you get the chance!!
Definitely, glad you enjoyed it 😃👍
Amazing build up video mate!
That's absolutely insane with how this was built up and up and running in the same day!
Mate I was blown away by the the design of it, brilliant to watch 😃👌

4words your videos are amazing
Aww thank you so much 🤗
I love this stuff!!
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it 😎👍
L Buxton and sons on the volvo headboard. I'm sure that was a livestock company back in the day
Editing Suggestion: When recording rides u could perhaps rewind the clip and play it again and also I recommend u do a ride in motion montage I would rly like to a montage
Darren Matthews dodgem is the same chassis comes away whole dodgem drops and folds out.
It's a transformer wow 👌
Haha 😂👍
Made in Czech republic 👍
Dodgems take hours to build up but minutes to pull down
Every ride is quicker to pull down than build up.
Takes longer to level a machine building up then it does to pick up blocks/jack's on a pull down 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah pull downs are definitely quicker, but not as much fun to watch 😀👍
Depending on the ground
The tear down is always quicker. You just want it down and hit the road. The setup is more slower for safety and proper setup, leveling, greasing etc.
Can you confirm the that the trabant, Mexican hat ride has been scrapped 😢or sold
I know it’s so sad!
It's currently being stored at their yard, I'll keep updating with any changes 👍
Ohhh ok!
Brilliant how uts done nowadays
Show more put away videos too
ace
Thanks mate 🙌
good team can build dodgem in hour and half LOL
How long did this all take to assemble? Its hard to tell, but only looked like a few hours?
It took about 4 hours 👌
Can we have an update?
How long for the complete assembly?
About 6hrs if I remember rightly 👌
@@TheDudgies Tanks ;-)
They used to be stinking dirty things to put up
Where is the best place to park buddy
I would say on the Fairground it's self or on the old Butlins site across the road mate 😀👌
@@TheDudgies thank you buddy
How long did it take?
About 4 hours 😀👌
Is this a traveling show???? if not then why isnt anything permantly attached?????
As the owner Henry Danter owns a couple of fairs he likes being able to move rides about to keep things fresh 😎👍
Nice 😃👌
