This is arguably one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. Firstly, its a concept album. I love a good concept album. Originality from beginning to end. Especially with songs like Gutfest '89. This albums literally changed the rap game imo. Before Sex Packets, rap song/album production was primarily minimal. Boom-bap or heavy bass beats with some samples, and dj scratching. DU brought song composition to the game. They added layers of sound and melody to production. They rapped, sang, used live instruments and made some of the smoothest tracks like this one, along with party bangaz like Dowutchalike. Piano solos. C'mon man, piano solos! Who the f*k in hip hop is known for doing dope ass piano solos, then or now? Top 10 for me! ✌
