Very, Very well-done! I attended his canonization in 1994 and it was one of the most wonderful days of my life. I have been devoted to him since 1978 and I can attest to the power of his intercession over that time. Blessed is God in His Saints!
I took St. John as my patron when I was received into the church a year ago. Thus far I'm the only Orthodox Christians in my family. This will be a great video to share with non-Orthodox family members!!
When watching this a third time, the story of Anna brought to mind an occurrence in 1983. A fellow nun with whom I was staying at the time asked me if we could travel to the Synodal church in Vancouver. I said yes, but that I had only enough gas to get there. I then prayed to St. John, telling him I knew of the help he gave to his voice teacher and asked that somehow a way would be found to get us to Vancouver and home to Bellingham, WA and that I could certainly use a $20.00 bill like he used to help that lady with. When we got to the church, the bells were ringing, and a man told us they were greeting the icon and getting a blessing. We got in line to run and duck down as we went beneath the icon. Just before passing beneath it I looked up and saw that it was the Kursk Mother of God icon which I had prayed for years to see and to venerate. Afterwards, we went to Vigil and after leaving the church to go back to the car, a man ran after us, (we were running because it was raining heavily) and as we reached the car, he pressed something into my hand. Once in the car, I opened my hand to find an American $20.00 bill! Whenever I have needed that kind of help it is always $20.00 or a multiple thereof. Once I asked my parish priest if I might borrow $40.00. Well, when I got to the church, he handed me two $20.00 bills then said, "While in line to get some money, I got a very, very strong thought or message...that I must get two $20.00 bills for you. It was emphatic...'Two twenty dollar bills'". But he has helped me in so many other ways as well over the years, the greatest being that I was tonsured to Great Schema in 1996 with the name Ioanna and given St. John as my patron. He has always helped and provided for me by his intercession. As a saint of these Latter Times, I believe that his intercession is especially strong for those who ask for it. I now live near Washington DC (in Chevy Chase MD) and each time I see the Capitol, I think of him sitting on the steps there, praying to God to help his people come to the US and I get tears in my eyes. Forgive this sinner please that I have gone on so long. I was privileged to attend his glorification in 1994. The city busses were stopping in front of the cathedral to let people off and it was just glorious. Blessed is God in his saints!!
Beautiful beginning showing his shrine. He has done so much for this sinner it's not funny. I used to visit his shrine and miss doing so. He has been a great joy and comfort in my life. I used to visit his office and once I sat in his recliner. When a lady came in I thought that she would be upset but she reassured me that people did that often. I had very sore legs and a person who did Rolfing told me my muscles were hard, almost like spasming. I prayed for St. John's intercession and the pain almost immediately left my legs. When my Godson, who had a blessing to check my legs, did so, he said that my legs were relaxed down to bone. Blessed is God in his saints!
How wonderful! My 3 year old, who is named after St. John, was riveted by this video. Thank you! St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco pray unto God for us!☦️☦️☦️
“Never, never, never let anyone tell you that, in order to be Orthodox, you must be Eastern. The West was fully Orthodox for a thousand years, and her venerable liturgy is far older than any of her heresies.”-St. John of Shanghai, Paris, & San Francisco
Such a beautiful and well done video! God bless you for honoring our beloved St. John who we love dearly! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏☦️ Glory to God for blessing us with him. He led such an incredible life-an amazing example of what its like to follow Christ in our modern times.
I never thought he stoled something from the church which is a sinful thing to do, but he would steal from the rich and give something to the poor. May our lord Jesus Christ forgive him and may he be remembered as a savior of the poor lives who wanted his help.
He was a great bleesing to the poor. Once I went to see the Kursk Icon and I didn't have enough money for gas to get home. I prayed to St, John and as another nun and I left the church, a man ran after us. When he reached us, he pressed something into my hand. It was raining so the other nun and I had gotten into my car quickly. When I opened my hand it was a $20.00 bill. Since then there have had many times I prayed for help. And always, it is $20.00 or a multiple thereof. As another person had put a bit into my hand earlier, we had enough for a meal and gas enough to get home.
He is a Saint why are you drawing such blasphemy don't you have any respect for Saints? I get your good intentions but you made a caricature out of him

The interior of that church has to be one of the most beautiful things I've seen
