I watched the Donghua first and didn't quite get the story but kinda liked the characters anyway so I looked for good AMVs and I discovered yours. You’re free to try and prove me wrong, but the donghua made the story even better. The art stile, the lights, the background music and the voice acting are just perfect! They make me feel dreamy and cozzy, just like the story is supposed to be.

OK i felt so compelled to write this comment because i don't think any other AMV has moved me as much as this has. and to preface, i'm a very casual fan of heaven's official blessing and have only read the donghua (which barely scratches the surface of the plot), but it's works like these that make me appreciate the series and its worldbuilding so much more. i actually watch this video at least once a day just to revisit the dreamy, timeless whimsicality that this video has. i left my favorite parts below:
0:26: the start of the verse paired with the clouds parting, it's like entering another world
0:52: "say you'll remember me" as the wind blows, the petals flutter and the bell clangs to the sound of the beat - what an absolutely stunning visual experience. it's like a feeling rushing in soundlessly, all at once.
1:08: "even if it's in your wildest dreams" as xie lian is enveloped in light
1:46-1:51: the blinking lights slowly building up to the climax when the chorus plays, and the scenery just erupts, with petals and confetti raining from the sky as xie lian descends - i don't know why but there is just so much unapologetic ardor here. absolute chills when i watched it the first time
2:50: "say you'll remember me," but more solemn and desperate - the pairing with the red umbrella in the rain really makes this part sound so melancholy yet unmoving in devotion

Alright, I might shoot myself in the foot but. I didn’t watch TGCF for some reasons. I don’t like both main leads to look too similar and Xielian’s outfit is kinda plain compared to MDZS’s character designs. I don’t support the seme’s cult-like behaviors, it’s very extreme in general (don’t destroy me just yet) I’m hardcore fan of MXTX works. I alr finished MDZS and SVSSS. TGCF is in my area, and I’m just waiting to watch with my bf after MDZS tgt(I have an agreement, I watch HAIKYU! While he watch MDZS with me)
Anyway, main point, I think your AMV has pushed me to watch TGCF. I feel Xie cheng/San lang’s emotions through the song, he wanted the wedding even if it’s just pretend.(lyrics in sync) It’s his *wildest dreams* to be with Hua Lian even if it’s just for a few minutes. To hua lian, it’s his nature to save a child, very normal thing. To the child, Xie lian is his reason for living. Xie lian became the light in his life, the flower in his eyes. I don’t get the door thing, why is the child chasing towards the door? I feel like he missed out the opportunity of meeting Xie lian behind the door? I’m only scratching what I see in the AMV. I’ll read the book/donghua to find out more. I heard it’s a tear jerking godsmack series. Wish me luck.
okay wow LMAOO you have unlocked something in me wow okay so a few things:
1) xie lian’s outfit is ‘plain’ for plot purposes. there was a time in xie lian’s life where he wore the most extravagant outfits and the most elegant jewelry. however, things happened, trauma happened, a lot of things went down for xie lian real quick. he lost everything due to certain things, which is why he is now known as a ‘scrap collector god’ instead of the ‘flower crown martial gold’ he once was (still is).
2) you don’t support the _what_ cult-like behavior? what’s a ‘seme’ ? if you mean the fandom, we’re definitely not cult like lol. if you mean tgcf, i can assure you it’s not a cult either ahaha.
3) the characters names are hua cheng, xie lian, and san lang. i see you mixing them up lol . ( ‘xie cheng’) hualian is their ship name, similar to wangxian.
4) please read the book !! it’s like 246-ish chapters long, one book split into five smaller ones. books 2 and 4 are about the past and those are the ones to watch out for because that’s when all the trauma occurs !! it’s for sure sad but it helps you get to know xie lian more in depth and why his character is the way he is.

2)The fan base is ok! I just think is Hua cheng seems to have very religious cult-y behavior towards Xie Lian. It’s quite extreme, maybe Im not used to the character’s weird obsession but I get that Xie Lian’s temple is not a cult-y place. Seme is the dominant partner in a homosexual relationship. Eg: binghe/Lan Zhan
