Ride Concept:
This ride is a completely original story based upon the musical piece of the same title by Robert W. Smith. It is part of the Empire Park collaboration project which also features my indoor rollercoaster Gangster.
Ride Stats:
Building time: 1 year
Piece count: 45,000+
Ride time: 5 minutes
Ride Credits:
Ride design: Swiss Creations
Queue and Exterior design: Swiss Creations
TMTK animated parts: The Osirian
Locomotives: Wings & Strings (Edited by Swiss Creations)
Empire Park Collaborators: The Magician, Bear Power
Filming: Mango
Editing: Swiss Creations
This is completely insane.
That newspaper transition may be the best effect i´ve seen in Planco.
Thank you Rudi! That means a lot
This left me with a smile on my face. There were a few times there I legitimately thought for a second it was just fancy video editing, then the ride moved a bit and I realized it was just incredibly well designed. The newspaper part in particular caught me.
How did he make the scene turn black and white ingame?
@@ChanceKearns You know about the camera effects you can apply at any time?
Display Sequencers can apply these effects on rides
@@katsauce oh i didnt even know that was in the game
I'm pretty sure this ride was actually based on a real runaway train situation the only reason I figure this is because I distinctly remember a story about a train crashing through a station in just the same way as the finale of the ride
@@cartoonkeeperWasn't that the Federal Express incident, where a Pennsylvania G1 locomotive ran out of control straight through Union Station, where Dwight D. Eisenhower was gonna be elected as the 34th President of the United States? Btw, i think he also got inspiration from the movie Silver Streak, which actually was inspired from the incident mentioned above. Sorry if I sounded nerdy, just stating truth. 😅😅😅😅
the ending having that scene turn into a newspaper headline was absolute genius creativity!!! never seen that done before
That's insane. By far the best darkride I think I've ever seen in PlanCo. You're a master of forced perspective and the story was so well done. You continue to impress me with each project you do!
Thanks man!
Indeed a master of forced perspective
Thank you for watching!
Is this available to check out on the steam workshop or anything? It's incredible, I'd love to explore the attraction
This is a true Masterbuild, everything fits 100% together, hats of for this amazing Masterpiece!!
Ever coming back to CGA?
5:16 onward is perhaps the greatest theming I've seen for a ride in Planet Coaster, the forced perspective, the bridges, the fast paced train action, the newspaper ending, PERFECT
Absolutely mindblowing. Professional. Gracious. It's something Walt himself would like if he was alive today and familiar with trackless systems. The newspaper part is simply magical. Lol. It should really exist somewhere in the real world. It's just amazing. Bravo!
Thank you so much!
The only thing Walt would hate about it is the name of the ride and the setting. He actually made a movie on the REAL Great Locomotive Chase, which was taken place in 1862 with, I guess to make it simpler for you, wild-west styled trains involved. And yes, Walt was a severe train enthusiast
@@MaddoxsTrains I am aware of the source material. This is a different story based on the musical piece by Robert W Smith.
As a coaster enthusiast who played this song in an orchestra… yes. Perfection.
I have no idea why but
“Build time: 1 year
Ride Time: 5 minutes” made me laugh harder than it should have. That year of work paid off though, because this is one of the best planco rides I’ve seen
Haha, better than the 2 years for 2 minutes on Gangster ;)
That newspaper ending was extremely clever! Brilliant use of the greyscale filter!
This is the greatest Planet Coaster dark ride I've ever seen. It looks like something I'd actually see in a real theme park.
Unlike other Planco dark rides, it doesn't just give the _impression_ of a story, it _tells_ a story, and does it in extremely creative ways, especially the movement.
I am sad that you aren't more popular on TH-cam, but to you, and everyone who assisted this, you've made a masterpiece, and should be rightly proud.
Thank you so much for your kind words, glad you liked it!
Absolutely amazing. The newspaper transition was so creative and well done
Thank you! My personal favorite part of the ride :)
@@SwissCreations just so I'm sure this was based on that one incident with the train that crashed through that exact station correct just to verify
The awesome level of detail in every aspect----concept, story, set, props, period accuracy, ride realism, lighting, music, audio design, VFX, voice acting (some of the best in any Planco build);
BUT EVEN BEYOND ALL THAT---- You wrote actual news articles, and they're hilarious.
Thank you so much!
Outstanding usage of the limitations of Planet Coaster. I have never seen a ride make the animatronics look more in place.
They were certainly tough to use sometimes. Always reaching for their earpieces haha
The amount of time effort and production that went into making this is unbelievable. This would make a great dark ride in real life!
That organ is magnificent
@@ajtopia thank you!
This was mind-blowing. The creativity involved in making this was masterful.
This is the best planco darkride I've ever seen, awesome job. The sheer amount of detail you put into this is insane.
Bro I remember playing that song freshman year of Highschool, this brought back so many memories
This is a work of art - an original concept / story well told by scenery and music. Especially like the sound design / dialogue bits for the show scenes. The main point is: This looks like it could be done in real theme park with the classic imagineering tricks like forced perspectivce, projections, painted backdrops, etc. Most theme park dark rides created in Planet Coaster & Co. simply seem "too big" for being built in a real-world theme park where place is expensive - which makes them kind of "unrealistic". Not this one! Congrats!
Thank you so much for your kind words! That means a lot.
This creation is almost 2 years old now and I can't say how many times i've come back to watch this video. It's just too good
Thanks Deif! That means so much.
As a fan of that game and someone who has built detailed rides, I cannot even imagine how its possible what you did. You are a fantastic talent and should be proud. Best dark ride I've ever seen!!!
I love how this one is plausible in its space and budget while still being an absolute blast. You've got the taste of a true imagineer.
Easily the best part of this is that it felt like it could be a real dark ride. I could see every detail of this and how it would work; both stationary prop locomotives, some with false moving track sections to simulate motion, and moving props hauled by hydraulic cable pulls, animatronic figures, that dramatic climax done with large scale models, even final fade-out through the newspaper article done with a mist screen and a pepper's ghost style effect. Moreso than most PlanCo dark rides I've seen, this could easily be made to work for real! And I would ride the hell out of it! Mickey's Runaway Railway, eat your heart out! Rise of the Resistance, stand aside.
I'll admit it wasn't entirely what I was expecting; seeing the title I thought this was going to be a retelling of the famous "Andrews Raid" of 1862. But this absolutely lives up to the name. Bravo, sir!
Thank you! Glad you liked the realistic scope of the ride. I didn't put any affects that I felt weren't feasible in reality. My thinking behind the newspaper black and white transition was actually projection mapping. Build the scene in black and white, and projection map the colors in like the WDW firework shows do. Then just fade out the projects and boom it's black and white.
THIS IS ACTUALLY SO GOOD??? This is one of my favorite pieces I played when I was in high school band, and this is such a cool way of portraying the actual historical event!! 1000/10, fantastic job!! If Planet Coaster ever does some decent water rides, I'd love to see a similar concept for The Great Steamboat Race, also by Robert W. Smith (the sister-piece to GLC!)
That ending of the newspaper was one of the most creative things I’ve seen in the game. Amazing job.
Wow this was awesome. I love how your made Penn Station look the way it did back in the 1930’s
That ending with the Headline and framing of the scene deserves a standing ovation of themed entertainment design. I wish an attraction could pull that off. I love that there is a post show concept with the museum exit.
Thank you! That means a lot.
I dream of opening up an amusement park one day, and now this is a ride I dream of making come true! Maybe one day
I have never seen such a beautiful creation as this one on Planet Coaster !
It's just amazing… I'm speechless !
🤩😲
Congratulations, you have surpassed yourself. The story-telling, the story-flow and the sheer amount of detail are just insane. Keep up your work and stay true to your talent!
My word this was worth the wait. Hands down the best dark ride I’ve seen in Planco. Stunning
As a PlanCo builder and a musician who has played that exact piece and have met Robert W.Smith this is amazing really well designed, as lol around fantastic!!
Disney or any park need to make this into a real life ride it’s amazing
You know, Nathan: I'm hoping to do that one day with my Victoria Village City Museum section of the GossBrook Hay Farm Resort project that I've been hoping to build on my grandparents' farm through the Goss Family Christian Entertainment (GossTron Guy Studios' theme park and hotel division). Maybe that could be a good real-life ride possibility if God allows it.
I would actully ride this, and love it
My jaw was on the floor during the newspaper transition. Fantastic!!!!!
absolutely brilliant. all the illusions and miniature buildings work so well. congrats on finishing this beast!
Thanks Dave!
The sheer amount of detail you put into this thing is insanity. Everything was carefully thought through and looks amazing Amazing job Swiss!
Thank you!
This is so incredibly impressive. This would be the perfect attraction for a rail themed park even if it were in real life.
I'm speechless, you came up with so many great ideas, I felt totally immersed in your story, thank you for the ride
Thank you so much! I really try to come up with as many unique touches as I can put into my projects and it is nice to hear that they are appreciated!
Absolutely phenomenal. Better than most darkrides in real parks!
This is easily the best planet coaster dark ride!
Thank you!
@@SwissCreationsI don’t know how you achieved such effects with seamless transitions! All with custom audio too!
I’m so obsessed with this. It’s just oozing creativity and the ending with the news paper was just flawless
Wow. Honestly amazing. Super creative!
You are the most underrated planet coaster youtuber!
Incredible, absolutely incredible
Oh my god, you are by far the best planco player. Absolutely incredible Swiss! My jaw is on the floor!
wow...
Best creation I have never seen.
No words...
Do Planco know this can be made with their game?
Congrats! I suscribe, looking forward to ride it!
The Music is perfect. My only VERY MINOR complaint is that the music wasn't time to well. But that is like not important at all. This ride is like you made a chocolate cake, then added chocolate syrup, chips, ice cream, and other stuff that was so extra but made it super cool and epic.
So well executed. But on a funnier note, the park attendants looked like they were scratching fleas instead of listening to their ear pieces. :P
Yes I HATE that animation, if we had anything else believe me I would've used it lol
This is insane. I love this. This was like watching a movie, I felt goosebumps. Also loved the addition of Johnny Cash's ''Wabash Cannonball'' at the end.
It’s one thing to make a good looking dark ride, it’s another to tell a story. You my good sir have done both.
This is the best dark ride on Planet Coaster I’ve ever seen in terms of theatricality, story telling and how captivating it is. My jaw is on the floor.
I’m so impressed by the creation in planet coaster and love the source material. I am a former band nerd and had a ton of Robert W Smith on my iPod mini back in the day.
This reminds me of why I loved being in band so much. My section would make up backstories for some of the songs in our concert repertoire and this is such a fun execution.
Really great work!
I played this song in hs band! Its so cool to see it reimagined as a dark ride!
I played the great locomotive chase in my old band class. It was my favorite song I’ve ever done.
The whole ride had a 1950s feel to it. The newspaper clipping at the end really drove that home.
This is truly very amazing
oh my god that newspaper effect at the end was insane. i can't believe you have so few subscribers for rides like THIS! i think... i think you may have gotten me back into planet coaster
Your awesome and awesome video be safe out there good luck to you
yooo the transition from the crashed train to the newspaper was crazy
Please make a behind the scenes for this! I'd love to see what it looks like outside the normal ride angles.
Incredibly well done, you used everything that planco offers to make this not a ride, but an experience
Incredible. I have seen quite some dark rides on Planet Coaster but yours is one of the best I have seen, well done!!
The greatest coaster I’ve every seen. You really smashed it out of the park!
Absolutely fantastic. The sense of the chase you were able to convey was just great and that newspaper transition at the end, perfect.
Great work as always Swiss!! Proud you see how far you've come between minecraft and planet coaster!!!
By far the best dark ride I’ve ever seen in Planco, and I’ve experienced a lot!!! You mastered every seen perfectly!! Well Done!!
This is art lol amazing work. I’m jealous, I can’t even get flowerbeds to look right in my parks lmao
this was absolutely amazing!! i don’t get easily impressed but this left a huge smile on my face. Thank you for this!
This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Thank you for making this, I can't believe I'm only discovering this, I am speechless!!!!
Don't know how I got here but I think I like it.
We love the algorithm. Welcome aboard!
YESSSSS!! so amazing!! i’m such a huge fan of your work
Thank you!
Simply cracked.
Been waiting for this one! Worth the wait - excellent job as always
The ending is iconically god tier
@@Clint7777 thank you so much!
this is a work of art, would love to ride it in vr or in person one day, deserves to be built!
Eyyyyy!!!! After all this time. Congrats my friend. What a success this was. To you finish of a game series, it truly is the best. Way to go out a legend.
THAT WAS MAGNIFICENTLY DONE!!!! Where did these train items came from. I could really use them.
The trains themselves are by Wings & Strings I just modified them to look different from the original. The signals, moving train wheels, and miniature trains are custom TMTK pieces I had made by The Osirian. Everything else I made like the track switches, crossing lights etc.
Great ride, stunning visuals and effects 👏
My toxic trait is thinking I could make a whole section like this, let alone a ride
This ride is simply special, congratulations to all of you incredibly talented people
Holy shit, first time i saw this and is so incredible i dont have any words. Best thing ever made in planco! Alo i love the old lost pensylvania station, so seeing a version of the inside made in planco make me said wow out load.
Thank you SP! I remember you were one of the first people that gave my work a spotlight and gave me the confidence to keep working. Thank you for your continued support!
Congratulations for this amazing ride! I think it the most incredible ride I saw in Planet Coaster!
Oh my god this was so good! Extremely creative and well executed.
This is so amazing, the best creation I have ever seen in planet coaster
I recently purchased Planet Coaster, and I've been checking out what different things can be done. Amazing! I really enjoyed this, and I agree that the newspaper bit was fantastic. New subscriber!
I have this weird thing about being uncomfortable about being in a dimly lit, small space with a large object.
For example, the plane in the Casablanca sequence on “The Great Movie Ride” At Disney World actually bothered me. Xenomoprh in the other room, not a problem. Airplane, scared me…
You actually succeeded in triggering that feeling within me watching this on my phone.
Kudos to you.
Seriously, Imagineering and Universal Creative should be fighting for your services.
This brought pure happiness - great job!!!
Truly Amazing. I've never been soooo impressed. So so good! Well done!
Just Wow!
This looks amazing. I especially loved the jump at 5:43
Thank you!
@@SwissCreations ^.^
playing this in band
真的是太精彩了,这个完成度真的是了不起
Amazing darkride! And nice easter eggs on the news paper😉
Anyone can cook, but only the fearless can be great
Just when you thought everything had already been seen in this game. Amazing!!
Incredible
Just, Wow!!!
Excellent!
dude your actually crazy, i'd love to see you try out theme park tycoon 2 sometime.
How the hell did you make this!? I struggle just trying to make a haunted house, and yet your able to tell a story and have some much detail! Bravo! Some scenes got me confused thinking... How did he do that!
