Opened this cube on Monday and wanted to try and figure it about myself but realized I have no experience with coming up with my own solutions, I caved in and looked up your solution and was stumped by how quickly you went on the "thing" swapping/ center rotating but I finally figured it out. The rest was more simple at least to me. Thanks for the solution.
Can you include some notation when you start doing the pyraminx swapping? I don't quite understand, you went a bit fast.

If you're still having trouble, you could check out the solution for a Rex Cube or Master Skewb. It's a lot easier to visualize the correlations.
When solving the central 'petals', they both involve flipping the diagonals on adjacent faces, exactly as Greg doing here.
I think he explained the algorithm with a pyraminx because more people are familiar with pyra algs, and not everyone owns a Rex/M Skewb.

About the pyraminx analogy, it works fine to flip the orientation of the "things", but it's actually messing up the internal cube. How do you avoid that? it's too quick in the video and I cannot figure out how the moves actually relate to the pyraminx analogy.

Wow! I solved your cube before seing this video. It took me a month to get the first steps, and then two more days to get the rest of the cube solved. However, I solved the outer cube first (the first thing I solved was the big "skewb centers" matching the colors of the inner centers, then the corners, the little edges and finally the long one-color pieces) and after that I solved the inner cube (using very large algorithms and getting lost many many times 😅). It's one of my favorite cubes now! Great job, Greg!

To orientate the things you j-j-just got to just just move this right here where it needs to go now just reverse your setup moves. I hope that made sense.

17:45 I have different algorythm for orienting corners. I just rotate the corner before i swap them so it goes already in good orientation. Since the algorythm for swapping doesn't mess with anything else, it can serve both purposes.
Also you can swap them, corect orientation and swap them back.

... great video.. it was hard to see parts of it because you kept leaving the frame... it was a bit confusing to understand what you were talking about because you were talking a little to fast, and it seemed that you couldn’t really figure out how to explain certain parts. Also.. can i solve your 33x33x33?

Onshape. It's a free program that's very similar to the non-free one that Greg uses (Solidworks).

Interesting to see you've got another approach on how to solve it compared with SuperAntonio Vivaldi's method. Anyway, I like both methods. I've got a tiny variation for the orientation of the corners. It's a series of 3 up-up down-down followed with a series of 3 down-down up-up, it works the same ;-)
I'm so gonna buy one, but maybe not a blue body one...

I figured out a faster corner orientation algorithm. It does the same thing as the one in this video. So using the same notation as the master skewb it’s this:
(R L’ R’ L) x3 (L R’ L’ R) x3
That. It's also pretty easy to mirror (reverse), without the need to rotate the cube:
(R' L R L') x3 (L' R L R') x3
The cube is on my next shopping list :) But waiting for mangetized MoYu to be restocked to make a one-go purchase.

Thing = X-Center. X-Center is a piece between a face center and a corner. Just FYI...
Well I have bought a purple one which is my favorite color, thank you very much. But I cannot understand putting the "things" so it sits on a shelf with solved centers and edges for a month now and I don't see it being solved any time soon

Does anybody know how to fix a 3 "center ring" swap? His algorithm moves 4, but only 3 are out of place...
Use the 4 cycle in such a way that NO center rings are correct, then you will always find a way in which you can fix 2 center rings, then proceed to use the 4 cycle to fix the last 4 faces. Just these 3 steps worked fine for me.

This one swaps U, F and L centers only, clockwise (U->F->L->U):
-> L R L R r R r l r l L l
(note on notation uppercase are top corners, lowercase are bottom corners and not wide moves, all moves in this alg are clockwise).
Can you please learn notation? I don’t understand: Put the thing there, remove the slot bring the piece up there and do the same thing backvards... WT#!?!
So Master Skewb is a Master Pyraminx as Skewb is Pyraminx?
Skewbs are analogous to octahedrons, not tetrahedrons.
While they are similar, tetrahedrons and octahedrons are slightly different in solving technique and by extension most mechanisms.

You twist the cube too fast in this moment and I cannot follow along, and you spend a lot of time explaining on pyraminx, with no time on the actual cube. I am so frustrated with not being able to solve it because it is currently my favorite puzzle
Hello, you can use a redi cube solve at inner puzzle and the puzzle from outside you use some master skewb algorithms. Almost all work on this cube, just take care to not scramble the inner redi cube again while solving the outside cube :)
