Medieval Historian here: He wasn't a Robber Baron, he was conducting a guerilla campaign against the Rosenberg family in Wenceslaus's name, it was the Rosenberg's who called him a Robber Baron. The Rosenberg family openly supported King Sigismund and opposed King Wenceslaus. For this campaign Racek was appointed burgrave of Vyšehrad by King Wenceslaus, for loyal service to the King in 1412. The confusion comes from the fact that the Rosenberg's were a very wealthy and powerful family and therefore had the ability to have books and records made that contradicted Wenceslaus and called Racek a Robber Baron.

On a side topic, the Waldensians Heretics were also another group of proto-protestants. yesterday i was watching Medieval on Netflix, it's a movie about a knight in service of king Wenceslaus and it features Jan Hus in action. Then afterwards I was watching Adam Sandlers movie Spaceman and there again, multiple mentions of Jan Hus. I've only heard of him from playing KCD.
This was nice to watch! I obsoletely loved the character in KCD, they actually made him feel like a true Lord, he was wise, brave, and inspired power. His answers to Henry's questions were always calm and calculated. He didn't seem like a generic NPC but he rather gave you a real feeling of lordship, authority and command, but also compassion and understanding towards the character.
I really began to understand his character once the nobles were brought the counterfeit coin. Hanush, realizing it was fake gold in his lands, threw a fit and sat in the back kicking his feet and swearing while Radzig was on top of the situation as soon as he could. Guy lost his castle but he was still on the ball doing what he can.
For those who play Crusader Kings games, basically this guy was the second lowest on the landholding totem pole, equivalent to a baron; So a noble you'd assign to look after a castle holding within a county. The character you play as? Well his family was basically the occupants who were in the blacksmith building slot of that castle building. So, just a reference for scale, you play as a lowborn who has a minor title, so you're not a commoner, or a peasant, just a lowborn in the court of nobles, which is why Henry has such autonomy, he was part of Sir Radzig's retinue, he is basically equal in rank to those castle guards, but lower in rank to knights while being higher in rank to a peasant or serf, like other educated lowborns.
Just got drunk with Parish Priest Godwin on my Second playthrough and the fact that Jan Hus was the reason Radzig lost his life is just absolutely mind blowing to me.

Miners meant more likely Germans, since Kutná hora (Kuttenberg) was predominantly a german city and they were mostly siding with Sigismund. And Racek was there to confiscate the pentions of the church so they enraged the miners against them.

Milos Kobila or Kobilic was killer of sultan Bajezid on Kosovo Polje in the army of Vuk Brankovic. Obilic is also common name but today's. Keep it mind and I'll check also
He's name isn't pronounced as Rachek in Czech, but like Ratsek. Dvojitz should be pronounced like "Dvoyiitz" but it's a wrong title\surname, by most chances, Dvorce (pronounced in English like Dvortse) is more likely his real title\surname. Srbna Skalitce is not a Racek's fee (fief is a French translation of the Latin "feudum"). As Royal Hetman (close to Marchal in England) he is obliged to manage royal manors in his area of response. Merhojed definitely doesn't belong to Skalitze Manor, it's mentioned in dialogues several times. For example, Jindrich, mentions that Hanush should appoint a new bailiff soon, which means that it belongs to Rattaje manor, not Skalize. Hovewer codex mentions, that in 15th century Merhojed were part of Sazau Monatery manor, but we don't know was it during the game, or later (because there were some bad stuff with Rattaye during hussites war in 1446). Rovna is questionable - Skalize folk attended the Rovna church, but its administrative appointment isn't clear in any dialogue or codex. And we actually don't know if he truly was a robber baron, because there's no evidence online in English. However game developers and historical consultants knew the Czech language, so it is obvious that they could found sources in the Czech and the statement is correct. However we couldn't check the source itself, and his authority or interest in those statements. So it's at least questionable because there are some historical mistakes in the game. Racek of Dvorce was a Hussite himself. Mob, who killed him were Papists. He had some children, but their names aren't saved in history.

Heres hoping the King gives our boy Henrey his own fief in the second game for all his hard work
5:07 a burgrave is not necessarily a hereditary title, in this case its not, its appointed.
Kutna Hora is Kuttenberg btw, the main location in kcd2
Well, at least we know what will happen to Sir radzig in the second game when that comes out
I bet we'll have a hand in building his new castle, Veselé, and possibly manage it like Pribislavitz.
Your Hetman sounds like headman! I was confused for a good few moments.
Sorry. My diction wasn't up to snuff this day.
@@ParryThis No problem. It was just amusing!
I love you calling history lore
Right, its fun.
I do that sometimes lol. Histoy is lore, kind of. It's humanities lore lol
well it would seem we meet again definetly not dare to game
It appears that way.
Here from dare to game!!
Welcome! From Dare to Game.
I just read the in game glossary entry. The spoiler of how he died was kinda rough.
Man, what a way to go out.
Is this a reupload?not that it’s bad
Yes, i removed all of my history related content from Dare to Game, and have edited it and will re upload it to this channel along with all of my new content.
i would say that the English Racek you've said is more Czech than the one you've tried in Czech😂 nice vid tho
Excellent. I alsi uploading gameplays
Dvorce (also known as Dvojitz) is the place where Radzig should have been born. It's a small city in Moravia
Miners meant more likely Germans, since Kutná hora (Kuttenberg) was predominantly a german city and they were mostly siding with Sigismund. And Racek was there to confiscate the pentions of the church so they enraged the miners against them.
No Kutensberg was kings Wencelsv 4 favorit city. It was rival of Prague
@@Mirinovic That does not exclude each other.
my fav character
Is it just me, or does he sound very similar to Kermit the Frog? Still, very informative.
subbed
love this
It's all fun and games until the priests inspire the working class to go full november revolution on you
You said that his name is pronounced "Raček" , which is not truth. Its pronounced Racek.
Sir radzig was a McAfee, he even is look alike to him and has the money
I don't know what to do with that information.
@@ParryThis dude, I feel just like a future seer, John McAfee was found dead at his Spain cell today
Spooky
@@gabrielrodriguezaleman179 You have a gift! Lol

I just had figured hetmen was like head man. As to say the kings hetman was his head man or his 2nd. The sound alike and context clues were enuf for me. And turned out I was pretty close.
Yeah, that's fair. That contextual interpretation is decently accurate.
According to wikipedia he was also know as radzig kobyla of dvorce which is a town in the czech republic but wikipedia is rather dodgy
Boy that did get out of hand quickly
Yeah, escalated quickly.
Bruh radzig probably didn't even have anything to do with hus.they just killed him because he was a noble
what an out of pocket end for such a chad
The most dripped out Knight.
He was a daddy
I was afraid I was the only one who thought that
Yup, he was a daddy
Yeee finaly!
There are records that Sir Radzig had kids but we don't know who they are only know his wife and kids are later under someone else's care.
Dvorce are "areola" in czech. Areolas are the darker circle around the nipples. That is why z Dvojic. "From pairs". Have still same meaning.
you didnt mention how sir radzig was killed by those miners for being a supporter of jan hus
Afaik theres no evidence to suggest Sigismund commanded Cumans. History just says he burned down Skaltiz with his Hungarian forces.
Yeah it’s just Game fluff. They were almost completely slaughtered by Mongols in XIII century and in Hungary those who were left alive were certainly refugees, not an elite army.
The idea of being a military power in XV century in their own Asian equipment must be a joke. All these lamellars, helmets, etc. must me 200-300 years old by that time, museum tier stuff.
Radzig definitely died one of the ways of all time
Bro rip to your horse got stuck
yeah, its never fun when that happens.
Sir Seagull Mule
The literal translation.
Me from Poland and understanding chech 😂😂 pozdrawiam
Makes sense. You are quite a bit closer.
My great grandmother lived in Poland, but I never got to know her properly.
I didn't understand her much.
You Poles really love to slap half the alphabet on a single word. (Not meant as an insult)
I wish you all the best from the Czech republic.
Racek Kobyla ze Dvorce - Seagull (female)Horse of Yard
An inspiring name for an inspiring man.

Site wars be part of kingdom come deliverance 2. Note there is no confirmation that they're making a sequel to the game that I wish they would.
It would be super epic, and in my opinion, makes the most sense, but there has not been any confirmation.
Damn Henry can't have a pa living for long. What is this a Disney movie?
Have to drive the personal story somehow.
@@ParryThis I mean can’t they just maim one of them? Henry can still go on a murder spree, I mean adventure, I’ve seen him do it for much less!
It's like a D&D character. 70% of the characters saw their parents die or never knew them.
Andrey Kobyla, the progenitor of Russian Imperial Romanov dinasty was a Prussian noble in service of Ivan Kalita of Moskaw. I wonder if the two Kobylas were related.
Henry Kobyla
at least do some research when trying to speak different language or simply dont do that... Your pronunciation is like if you would called John Smith as "Yon Sit" ... gj
Is this lore or history? As you meantion lore so is this not facts?
He had some children, but their names aren't saved in history.
man butchered even the German names 💀
Racek Kobyla z Dvorce. It has nothing to do with dvojitý.
"I will butcher a great many names in this video". Paused the video and will turn it off after this comment. If you're going to research a topic and make a video about it you can also learn how to say names phonetically. It would take you minutes to do so.
So you commented this after or before you turned the video off ?
You sound like dare to game
*Does 0 research about how to pronounce things
