Steel toe boots is a must for these brushless RC's and even the brushed ones, unless you want a very painful RC car sponsored pedicure, especially with the MJX Hyper Go 16207 and the WLToys 124008 with the metal bumpers.
Hey Evan! Man you Don't know how glad I am to see this truck on your channel, as I've had this same truck on my studio table downstairs for over a week now. I've got so many in the line up and am i bit behind on my reviews. Normally it would be the other way around, but their have been so many good deals lately. i got the Pro as well! I am hoping this weekend I'll at least have it on video. An upload would be even better! Man these cars, buggies trucks, jeeps, and now sct from this company really impress me! Yes oil filled shocks are gonna be a must do upgrade. Mine came in a foam box to save a little money. I would of paid an extra $15 if it came with some oil shocks! Not sure why so many don't just put them in the package. do you see this accepting 3s. i see it says 2s on the esc. ive seen a few of the other versions take 3s, but they didnt seem to cut out. Maybe there is a built in power output protection, like anything over 35c whether its 2s or 3s? that was a mad catch by Mad Max! it looked to hold up extremely well considering what it was put through. The wheelies were amazing! Man I cant wait Brother! Im gonna try to get mine uploaded this weekend too! have a great weekend Evan! iI really love your channel!
Thanks Robby!! Ya it as a blast! I know there are Lots of great deals right now! I have a feeling it wouldn’t take a 3s but I bet it would if you put s cheap esc like a quicrun in it. With it shutting off with the Gens ace I used, I just have a feeling 3s would do the same. Ya that jeep model looks slick!! Hopefully will get more from these guys. I agree on the oil filled shocks. I would gladly pay $15 more on pretty much any model ever lol. Eventually they’ll catch on hopefully. Yup Max is a beast!! Thanks Robby! So glad you love the channel 😊 Yours is awesome too!!
@@DerbyCityRC Does the stock esc ever get too hot (compared to the motor) when barely even running it (for me on lowest speed setting and 10 mins its really hot)? If it does for u, do u know any fixes? Fans need some placement holes on esc i think to place them
No mine doesn’t seem to do that. Try to verify nothing is rubbing or casing the car to slow down. Do the wheels all spin freely? What about the car move pretty freely with all wheels on the ground? May be a defect.
@@DerbyCityRC first id say the unboxing was funny. It was classic when you punched through the box and just grabbed the car, I laughed so hard at that. nobody wants to see someone unbox for 15 minutes. it was also epic when your son caught the tire from under the car. I've watched your videos for a while now and the progressions been noticeable. really just wanted to let you know I like the light-hearted content you put out! It's always a relief when I see one of your videos pop up, too many rc channels are way too serious and it takes the fun out of the hobby. Just keep doin what your doin and ill always be a fan!
Thanks for all that insight! I really appreciate it. I try to improve with every video so I also appreciate that you notice that. I just have fun doing it and hope that everyone has fun watching. Yes slow unboxings are not my thing at all not is the ultra seriousness lol. Just honest reviews and fun times!! 😎
@@DerbyCityRC just an idea but the next time it would be funny if the box made a sound like it was clearing it throat and then a second time but, louder and the the rc car goes shooting out of the box like it was choking. I think intros like that would make good short as well. What do you think lol?
I just got this truck and it's awesome but for some reason when I hit the throttle or reverse there is a pretty heavy hesitation. Any idea what might be causing that?
Glad you like it, but no I’m not sure why it would hesitate. Is it like the car isn’t even receiving a signal right away or like the motor lacks power at first?
What would you recommend to make it more of a jumper? I just ordered this and recently got a wltoys rc too. I sold my hbx 901a and absolutely loved that rc. It jumped pretty well etc and was a blast. Is this rc anything like it?
It’s better than the 901a in my opinion. That’s a fun car but it’s still one of my least favorite HBXs. This one is better, just smaller. Check out this video and see what you think about the minor upgrades on it: th-cam.com/video/13VwqlFirBc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Pao-9fSf24Ts0PuZ
Hi great video as usual.Need some info.Bought this model but after 10min it stops while playing in the grass.esc seemed very hot and when it cooled down worked again but has like cogging on low throttle in the grass.Do you recommend the brushed version for my kid.he is 3yrs old
Thanks! Well that’s hard to say. Was the motor warm too? Grass will definitely cause it to heat up quicker so can’t say it’s a defect. Is it warm where you are? If it doesn’t have the cog on pavement, it’s probably ok because the grass will definitely increase cogging for a smaller car. I’d still say brushless is better because they don’t get as hot, and it can still be turned down pretty slow. In the flip side, the brushed one wouldn’t cog but may still have low torque.
@@DerbyCityRC Thanks for the advice.Turned out one of the wires to the motor was loose causing the heating and loss of power. All good now. After watching your other video i bought 2 more.A Q117 brushless and the beast max featured in your video. All same under the body.Got it from temu for 71 dollars.Great cars and very durable.Keep the entertaining videos coming brother. Thanks from South Africa
I'm working on an experiment with a new one that I just ordered. (The old one broke, and I never figured out the exact piece I needed.) Do you know what kind of washer (size) I would need to pin those tires down, if I wanted to pin them to a part of that body?
It looks fast as a rocket. I was eying it on banggood, but ended up very hesitant, cause of lack of info and pictures of the chassis. The looks are top notch though. Someone complained the body rubs on the rear tires badly. Wonder if it cuts the tire in the long run?
Yes the rear of the body does rub the tires when compressed. I’ll have to look at it closer but I haven’t noticed any damage or slices yet. May be able to trim the body a bit. This is a good one. Should be easy to upgrade!
I have a question...he says that the car like that case would be quite durable, but it rolled once and that plastic cracked a little, I'm afraid it won't be that durable, do you have any idea?
This car has been extremely durable. Still use it quite often two years later. Parts break on any car. Replacement parts are also available at Suchiyu.com. This car here is actually based on the same car and you can really see how awesome it is: th-cam.com/video/Kn8P-Baz8zc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ayEt6z5rE__0KJ-w
Isn't this just a 1/16 scale Su Chi Yu brushless with a 1/14 scale body slapped onto it, seeing that the parts are the same as for the 1/16 scale cars?
Awesome man! I have! And I’ve ran it once so far and plan to again tomorrow. Big improvement. Working on an upgrade video on this car. One of the best values out there this little thing is.
@DerbyCityRC awesome. My birthday is coming up soon and this was my gift to myself. I'm looking forward to watching the video to see what you used for shocks. I'm eventually wanting to take it to the local track I play at. Thanks!
Well I have a video from a few months ago comparing the HyperGo and the hbx, which the results are pretty subjective to your own wants and needs so check that out if you want. Then my most recent video, with the car from Temu, has entered the competition, and it’s a fierce competitor.
@@DerbyCityRC Thanks for replying. Thats the only thing im not sure of with these RC's. Even the HBX 16889A Pro, the little gear, bevel gear i think its called wears out too quick on 3s. I ordered the metal gears set for the MJX 14201 and changed the shaft to fit the HBX. Said its made of Power Metallurgy. Still gotta try that out. I have the same PM gears on the Wltoys and it has lasted forever on 3s and 4s so i assume it will for the HBX. I just wish some HBX/MJX parts are interchangeable with this car.
@judybustamante9859 the mjx gears were definitely weaker, then they came out with an “upgraded” set that look just like the hbx ones. Lol hbx uses very good metal on their cars, but 3s can be a lot of stress, and the way wltoys gears their cars, I believe that may be less stress on the gears themselves.
Hi Sir, I just received my first MJX hyper go, put of the box after charging and testing different battery, it won’t run when put on the floor, hesitates(cogging/glitches) with cracking noise but goes instantly if I hold it up and wheels not touching the ground. Is it damage?
I responded to your other 2 comments about this. Sorry for the delayed response. It does sound like it’s damaged, but just double check your wiring connections, your throttle speed adjustment knob, and try to tell if anything is mechanically binding first. Hopefully you find something simple. Otherwise they should exchange it for you.
@@DerbyCityRC after checking everything, trying different battery, using the tx of a friend, then tried different esc(it worked) it is indeed defective/faulty ESC. Thank you! 👍😊👍
@@DerbyCityRC by the way, are the pinion gear of HBX 16889A pro compatible with brushless MJX hyper go (pitch/module)? I just found out that MJX brushless shaft size is odd, just 3mm not 3.175 so I cannot use the stock pinion on any standard 2845 motor, all I can find have 3.175 shaft.
I don’t have that WL toys model, but I do have the 144001 and the 144010 (essentially the same) and the quality of this car in the video far surpasses WL toys. They just break too easily. Performance-wise, the WL toys may win, but again I don’t have the crawler unit, just the actual race buggies.
Just picked this trcuk up off of Temu for $70. Amazing truck. Do you know of any good oil filled shocks for this truck? hopefully something USA side of the pond

Mine after 1 drive session the tyre felt off and it seems that bearing ball is missing. I am trying via bangood to get a refund although nothing yet. Can you please share with me if there is somewhere to buy this rare bearin ball in order to fix it ?
Are you talking about the ball bearing right behind the wheel that goes around the axle? Do you still have the wheel nut and the 12mm hex and 2mm pin behind the wheel? Banggood is a good company, but they may not warranty a wheel falling off. They will likely consider that standard maintenance unless something actually broke.
@DerbyCityRC I think nothing broke. The steering shaft with the ball bearing (ruleman) fell off or the rc came without this idk. By my first drive session the wheel just left the body and I cant drive it anymore.. Do you know where I can find this bearing ball 6.35*9.5*3.2mm with the steering shaft 4*30mm?

Hey Evan, being the just-beyond-novice that I am, can you explain what makes a "dialed-in" differential? You mentioned that this particular truck is a little loose but can be helped with diff fluid? All the best!
Hi Alan! Sure. This differential is very “loose” as in each wheel can spin freely from each other very easily. If it wasn’t so loose, there would be more resistance (from a thicker fluid being inside it). So when this little dude is drifting, if it starts to lean a little bit, let’s say to the left, the right wheel will start to pick up a little bit and since there is no resistance inside the diff, all the power will now go to that right wheel because the ground isn’t slowing it down anymore. So now the left wheel stops spinning and since it’s not spinning it hooks up to the asphalt again and stops the drift action. If there was more resistance making it harder for that right wheel to spin, even when it lifts off the ground a bit, it wouldn’t stop the left wheel from spinning quite as easily. Kinda like if you get stuck in snow or mud in your real car, only one wheel spins. But if you had a locking differential, both would spin and help you get unstuck. Thicker fluid acts somewhat like a locking differential depending on how thick it is. With doing wheelies, even though it holds them well, it rocks back and forth because that power can easily transfer to the left and right wheel causing it to rock side to side. Again a thicker fluid would cause the power to stay centered between both left and right wheels a lot better. I’m going to have a video on all this “novice” stuff soon!! Hope this helps you understand!
Hey, last weekend a screw or bolt came out of my JJRC Q130's back steering plastic pole, close to the wheel. (Can you tell I'm still green in this? @@DerbyCityRC your right, I was tryn to do smthn lol. I have the all plastic brushed jeep version. Decided to make it brushless. I was just tryin to get an idea of the motor they paired with the stock esc. I used the stock 35a brshlss esc and a 4200kv MJX motor. It’s frigin sick lol. I was going to keep it brushed since it’s literally all plastic but we beat the crap out of the poor thing and nothn has broke. Then my daughter ran it over and dragged it bout 15ft with her quad. 🤣 they can take a pounding for sure!! The jeep one looks sick for sure, but can’t wait to get some better shocks and tires for my short course one here!
They’re both very different. If you want a really decent car that’s fast right out of the box but isn’t really a jumper, I’d say this JJRC. If you want a car not super fast out of the box but easily upgraded and turned into an ultra beast, I’d say the fc610.

I know there are
Lots of great deals right now!
By far your best video yet. Keep them coming bro!
Thanks man! What would you say makes it my best? I appreciate it!! And yes definitely more coming!!
Lol I may try that one. Always thinking of new ideas 🤣
just ordered one of these looks really cool
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
@@DerbyCityRCI would say it's almost like the signal gets interrupted when I first hit the throttle. Then it takes off and is fine
Wait a second, are those extra tires spares or just for decoration?
They’re actual spares!!
First time seeing anything of you but liked and subscribed bro good realistic bloke
Thanks man I appreciate it 👍👍
What would you recommend to make it more of a jumper?
Thanks so much dude and appreciate you watching!! Glad you got it figured out!
I'm working on an experiment with a new one that I just ordered. (The old one broke, and I never figured out the exact piece I needed.) Do you know what kind of washer (size) I would need to pin those tires down, if I wanted to pin them to a part of that body?
Hey I have this rig and it’s a blast servo just went out on me is there an upgraded servo that fits ?? Or get another oem
Love the channel I got a couple of these myself had too lol but what kind of 2s battery’s can u put in this that fits??
I have a question...he says that the car like that case would be quite durable, but it rolled once and that plastic cracked a little, I'm afraid it won't be that durable, do you have any idea?
This car has been extremely durable. Still use it quite often two years later. Parts break on any car. Replacement parts are also available at Suchiyu.com. This car here is actually based on the same car and you can really see how awesome it is:
th-cam.com/video/Kn8P-Baz8zc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ayEt6z5rE__0KJ-w
Any word on replacement body’s ?? Just got one today
Not sure yet. I’ll be doing an upgrade video on this guy soon, but no new news that I know of.
I bought this one and it's stupid fast. I used a 2s lipo and thus thing just pops willies non stop.. nuts
Yup! Pretty durable too!
Isn't this just a 1/16 scale Su Chi Yu brushless with a 1/14 scale body slapped onto it, seeing that the parts are the same as for the 1/16 scale cars?
Hey man, where can I buy the same battery Lipo1600amh 30c ? Can u add a link to buy it ?? Thanks
I believe this is the one I used here: amzn.to/43hpjmF
how do u make it do wheelies mine dosent
Nothing special just pull trigger fully. Is it in high speed mode? The controller has a switch for H-M-L
After watching this video over and over, I ordered this rc and it arrived today. I was wondering if you have installed oil shocks on yours yet?
Awesome man!
I have! And I’ve ran it once so far and plan to again tomorrow. Big improvement. Working on an upgrade video on this car. One of the best values out there this little thing is.
@DerbyCityRC awesome. My birthday is coming up soon and this was my gift to myself. I'm looking forward to watching the video to see what you used for shocks. I'm eventually wanting to take it to the local track I play at. Thanks!
jjrc130 vs mjx hyper go vs hbx
Which one is the best overall
Well I have a video from a few months ago comparing the HyperGo and the hbx, which the results are pretty subjective to your own wants and needs so check that out if you want.
Then my most recent video, with the car from Temu, has entered the competition, and it’s a fierce competitor.
is there extra room on the esc if I wanted to plug something in like an extra heat sink for the motor?
There is an extra port. It’s the small 2 wire white plug. It’s labeled LED though so not sure if a fan would work on it or not.
How durable are the metal gears?
No issues yet.
I honestly just discovered your channel today. But you have content of like a 100-200k sub Chanel. You just gained a sub 👍

You see my tire/shock upgrade video for it and the blue one?
@@DerbyCityRC oh awesome... im there bro.. thanks! 😎👍
@jamesbatso4092 you’re welcome!
Hi Sir, I just received my first MJX hyper go, put of the box after charging and testing different battery, it won’t run when put on the floor, hesitates(cogging/glitches) with cracking noise but goes instantly if I hold it up and wheels not touching the ground. Is it damage?
A video might help others to see the problem
I responded to your other 2 comments about this. Sorry for the delayed response. It does sound like it’s damaged, but just double check your wiring connections, your throttle speed adjustment knob, and try to tell if anything is mechanically binding first. Hopefully you find something simple. Otherwise they should exchange it for you.
@@DerbyCityRC after checking everything, trying different battery, using the tx of a friend, then tried different esc(it worked) it is indeed defective/faulty ESC. Thank you! 👍😊👍
Your welcome man! 👍👍
How does this one compare to the wl toys Green crawler 12427 in terms of performance and build quality?
I don’t have that WL toys model, but I do have the 144001 and the 144010 (essentially the same) and the quality of this car in the video far surpasses WL toys. They just break too easily. Performance-wise, the WL toys may win, but again I don’t have the crawler unit, just the actual race buggies.
@Derby City RC ok thanks! 😊
You’re welcome!
Just picked this trcuk up off of Temu for $70. Amazing truck. Do you know of any good oil filled shocks for this truck? hopefully something USA side of the pond
Im also wondering what kinda of oil shocks also im looking for ones in temu did u happen to find one?

I've been looking for a chassis to slap my new bright body on cause I'm making a gi joe classified vehicle.
Niiiiiice!!!
@@DerbyCityRC I already have a rc built for my classified figures but I want to make another one but with a better fitting chassis.
Awesome!
This this awesome. Not stupid fast but has a ton of torque and is definitely fast enough to be a ton of fun
Yes. Faster than most in its class especially for the price!
Just wondering what would be the top speed with a 3s battery? And can you recommend a Good 3s battery For This truck . Thank you.
I don’t know. It’s not rated for 3s but if it can take it I’d imagine close to 40mph
Awesome video definitely a cool little truck it took a beating little damage but not bad for the amount of abuse. Very nice
I agree man, thanks!
Hey, do you happen to know of a better servo compatible with the stock mounting set up?
I don’t yet, unfortunately. I’ll be doing some mods to this one soon and servo could be on that list. Not sure yet.
Hello, thats actually the same parts as the SCY 16103 pro, and also 16102 pro for some parts. And yes i think its more a road car than a pure basher.
Yes it is! I also have a similar car to the 16102 now also. They’re both so awesome and parts can be had from suchiyu.com 👍👍

@@DerbyCityRC dang, Dude! Standing here amazed. Thanks for taking the time to get into it like that!
I owe you a beer someday!!
You’re welcome man!! 😃
I like what I do so I help as much as I can!
does it run on 3s ???
Probably not for long. It needs a higher amp ESC, but after that should handle it nicely.
Yep! No issues with light running on 3s.
is it water proof?
Not sure unfortunately. Don’t recall any mention of that so possibly not
Hey, last weekend a screw or bolt came out of my JJRC Q130's back steering plastic pole, close to the wheel. (Can you tell I'm still green in this? LOL)

I’ve checked a bunch of different sites and the kv is never listed
I don’t unfortunately. My guess would be somewhere between 3500-3900. Whatcha tryna do?
@@DerbyCityRC I thought I saw smewhere that’s it’s 4000kv but idk I don’t see the kv advertised at all. I’m prbly thinkn of a different rc lol…
And what makes you think I’m tryn to do smthn? 🤣🤣
It literally looked like the thing was folded in half when it was jammed up under the atv. Anyway, i thought the thing was toast but I was completely shocked when it got absolutely no damage other than a small crease on the body shell!!
That’s when the brushless light bulb went off
In my head 😂😂
🤣🤣
🤣 they can take a pounding for sure!!
The jeep one looks sick for sure, but can’t wait to get some better shocks and tires for my short course one here!
How would you compare it against the flyhal fc610?
They’re both very different. If you want a really decent car that’s fast right out of the box but isn’t really a jumper, I’d say this JJRC. If you want a car not super fast out of the box but easily upgraded and turned into an ultra beast, I’d say the fc610.
